This school was great this year. It was in person most of the year which my son needs and loves. He made many friends and learned so much. The way they teach reading worked really good for him. I love that they teach cursive. At first it was hard for him but now he loves it. He also loves Spanish class. By the end of the year some sports were starting up and I hope they have them in full swing next year.

I have a child that attends CSCA. He will be going into 1st grade and another starting Kindergarten! I’m absolutely in love with the atmosphere of the school! The outstanding expectations the children are held to and how much my child grew alone in kindergarten! I can’t wait to see how this upcoming year is!

I have just been blown away by the standards that CSCA sets. My son is reading at a first grade level in kindergarten and is excelling in all other areas as well. I love the sense of community that they nourish within their school and the fact that they use primarily reward based motivation.

CSCA is a hidden gem! I love the passion, dedication, and commitment to excellence that our administrative team, teachers, and staff members demonstrate each and every day. CSCA has a wonderful community of students and families that I am grateful to be a part of. My two students have never enjoyed school more than they have this year!

It’s a pretty great school with some great academics and mostly good teachers. The only thing that I’d say are bad about it is the really mean and bad Spanish teacher. Other than that, this is a great school and I highly recommend it.

When my kids attended this school is was decent however they tend to hire anyone and Im not sure how much of a background check is done. We had a problem where the classroom assistant pushed my daughter. I brought it to the attention of the director/principal and counselor but no one listened it was basically her word against my young daughter. Beware this lady is still employed there

Its sad to see these parents act like their kids are treated so unfairly. There is NOTHING wrong with kids feeling uncomfortable or everything not being FAIR. I doubt teachers are pushing students. It really easy to tell when kids ages 11 to around until 21 are lying.. here is the secret folks, listen up THEIR MOUTHS ARE MOVING!!! I want my kids to be held accountable for not following rules. If you start making excuses for them now, they will think they can do it for the rest of their lives. I love my kids and want them in a learning environment where they are taught respect and self control.

OH MY GOSH! I came from a school that didnt teach me ANYTHING! In third grade my mother had had enough becuase I was struggling to spell THE! I DIDNT EVEN KNOW HOW TO SPELL MY OWN NAME! I walked into that building and within a matter of DAYS I learned how to read, Wright, and do cursive. This school is one of the 7 wonders of my world. I love it with all my heart and will cry when I have to leave my wonderful beautiful teacher this year. I would recommend this school for everyone.

My daughter just started at CSCA she went to another charter school in Arizona and has always been well respected and loved as well as extremely advanced. The other day she came home and said a kid slapped her and threatened her with a knife Mr.Murphy the principal told us he does not believe her story and there was not going to be consequences for this little boys actions . I have contacted the Charter institute and the executive of the school board. I just wanted to give my experience with bullying and the principals attitude really seems like he does not take it seriously.Sincerely, a Concerned Mother

My kids go here. The curriculum and teachers are great. Just wish they allowed sports for the younger grades. And more sport programs, band, drama....would be great! And now that the school has grown, traffic has become terrible.

I am not a fan of this school at all. I have an advanced student, but the workload is crazy. Most days we spend hours doing homework. Overwhelming quantity of projects. The handbook differs very much from reality. The principal might stand out there every day at the crosswalk, but when there is a problem he will try to blow you off and writes you, that he no longer will discuss this topic with you (the parent) yet there was no solution to the problem. Claims he doesnt understand email contents, but everything is clearly specified. Nobody else had an issue understanding my email. Treats women differently than men. I called once that I will be late 6 mins for pickup due to a traffic incident. I asked that this message will be relayed to my daughter, which never got to her! I am never late, so she was worried to death when I was late. Grades being entered wrong, incorrectly graded papers, graded papers disappeared (the principal suggested my daughter stole them, 1 of the 3 missing papers was later on discovered with a teacher) ( I get it, errors can be made, but its a certain way to handle them) you constantly have to check behind everything. Excellence is expected from the children, but not lived by this school and foremost not by the principal! One good thing I have to say is about Cindy the office manager, she has never been rude and has a very warm, caring and welcoming personality!

I have custody of my younger brother, about a week ago there was an incident in which my brother missed his after school program as I arrived to pick him up , I will admit I arrived a little later then the time he gets out because of such busy schedule and completely forgot he was getting out at 4:10 so as I rushed to his school to pick him up i drove through the back of the school where they usually come out for the after school program, I had been outside the door waiting for someone to come and open the door for me for a couple of minutes, after I saw that the other car behind me which came a couple minutes after me the lady walked towards the door that I had been waiting for already, right when she gets there I see a blonde lady with blue eyes right away come to the door and greets her nicely and lets her go inside the door, she the proceeds to ask what I wanted and what I was looking for I told her I came to pick up my brother, she then closed the door right in my face and told me to wait outside while she when to look for him I felt very disrespected and as if I was inferior then the lady who had came after me, after a 40minutes of looking for my brother I decided to call the cops. Thankfully my brother decided to walk home which he has never done but the experience with that teacher was really shocking and unpleasant.

This school is very nice- while you’re there with your kid. Once parents gone it turns into a prison. My child developed a chronic illness that had me in the school daily and I was able to witness some amazing injustices. Kindergarteners being scolded for not standing at the bathroom line with one foot on a line in the tile and facing forward with mouths closed . This school also is very far behind on homework policies, there is WAY TOO muc. The staff will take away recess for any slight infraction, but just a few minutes at a time so they can hold the threat through the day. This is also very old concept of discipline. The kids are never ever allowed to talk and I even saw a woman teacher enter the boys bathroom just to tell them they were not allowed to be talking. The staff have a few good people and here but for the most part they have an overwhelming lack of empathy, are mean to the kids and will “keep them under their thumb” all day long. Definitely do not recommend this s hook.

I am currently a student in eighth and its not an absolutely THRILLING experience. Teachers in Middle School get well-minded and think that all we do at home is study like a lion and dream of them...yeahhh thats a bit annoying. Otherwise, the learning experiences...are super advanced. I reccomend bringing well-disciplined kids. Kids would also LOVE a tackle football team. Playing touch at recess isnt all, yaknow,-that.

I have two children (and soon a third) attending CSCA even though we live in Briargate. The drive is 20 minutes for us both ways but worth every mile! I have lived in Colorado Springs my whole life and attended public schools which were great, but CSCA is on a whole nother level! Such a positive, focused, and organized atmosphere. I love the uniform policy which is fair and lets the students focus on education and not fashion. The teachers and staff are amazing, my children have great grades and have about 5 -15 minutes of homework a night. One project every few months with a huge amount of fun activities for the children and parents including carnivals, movie nights, silent auctions, field trips ect. I wish this was my school growing up!
