I didn’t know what to expect going into martial arts. I’d previously had no experience. After two classes with evolve, it quickly became something that I loved and relied on to make my week better. The instructors were not only knowledgeable but had the skills to work with people of all levels. They consistently went above and beyond to ensure safety, enjoyment, and improvement. The classes were informative and the trainers know exactly how to push you out of your comfort zone to ensure you are progressing. My experience with evolve martial arts is one I’ll remember as I search for another gym in another state. I’ll miss the atmosphere and the joy it brought to my daily routine. Thank you all at evolve for your patience, kindness, and commitment to growth. I feel more confident in my ability to protect myself and also have found a way to stay in shape that’s enjoyable.

I’ve been going to this gym for a few months now and really feel I made a great decision by coming here. The coaches are professional and beyond helpful. It doesn’t matter what level you are they have something for you. Everyone is so friendly and is there to help you improve, coach Josh says every time as long as you’re improving by 1% each time you’re doing what you’re supposed to be doing. Training here has been life changing for me because the things I learn in this gym I can take and apply to my life as well and I’m so grateful to Coach Josh and Will for helping me improve in so many ways. I highly recommend if you’re interested to stop by and check it out, you won’t regret it!

I was just visiting a friend for a couple of days and wanted to train at her gym for a session. The staff were able to schedule me in and my experience was amazing! I felt so welcomed by staff and students at this facility. The instructor was patient and informative with techniques and extremely knowledgeable. I’m very thankful and learned some valuable lessons that are practical to use in real life situations. This place is great for all levels and age! If I lived here, I’d definitely make this my second home. THANK YOU AGAIN!

I was really impressed by the quality of the coaches and curriculum at Evolve Martial Arts. In class they teach us concepts, we practice the techniques, and then they gradually increase the intensity based on your skillset to keep you engaged and learning!

My 6 year old son has been a member for the last 6 months. The Evolve team does an excellent job keeping the kids involved and motivating them to do their best in and out of class. My son also really enjoys the parents night out NERF parties.

Things have been tough over COVID, especially small business like gyms and martial arts schools. The owner and staff were I believe one of the first in the area to offer online Zoom classes that became one of the highlights during the week for my two boys. They also put together a COVID health process when they reopened. It was fun to see how they were able to work with a whole screen full of kids and get them all to participate and pay attention. They would set personal and family goals with each member and check back with them the next class. I dont know how they have been able to keep up, however I am impressed with their work ethic, communication, and commitment to their families. Jacob is excited to sneak in some adult classes during breaks from CU.

Best Krav Maga training in Denver by far! I travel from Austin to Denver two times a month. I have been training Krav for 6 years in Austin and have been looking for a place that I can drop in and continue my advancement. I have been to 5 other Krav Maga schools around Denver and the tech center. Evolve Martial Arts is exactly what I needed. Josh was able to size me up quickly, and bring me to a whole new level. The instructors take time after class to talk with students, they give me drills that I can do when I am back home. I am working with him to do a weekend with us in Austin as a guest instructor. Joshs insight, passion, and experience has put their Krav Maga program at a different level. If you are experienced and want to get to the next level, Evolve Martial Arts is the place. If you are new and looking to learn self-defense in the Denver area, your lucky. They are a top notch group.

The instructors have been knowledgeable, patient, and focused on both class energy and individual improvement. I tend to be clumsy, however Coach Thomas creates a drill on the spot that helps me understand what I am doing. Finishing up nursing school has put me on some crazy shifts, so flexibility to attend any of the classes they offer has kept me sane over the past year. Even though my membership expired in May, they added 8 weeks to my membership the time everyone was shut down due to covid. You guys have been great and would recommend Evolve to anyone who is seriously looking to learn self-defense, even if you have two left feet!

I originally started going to the classes because my son wanted to study krav. They allow two trial classes and I quickly fell in love with kickboxing. A year and half later Im still excited to go to each class. Truly love sparring as we use our concepts in real life! For me the greatest joy is legally being able to punch (and get punched sometimes) my 17 year old son and the instructors tell me how to punch him more effectively 😂.All instructors are patient and knowledgeable. They challenge each student according to that students ability, you definitely grow by 1% each class. (They tell you thats the goal!)

I worked with Josh at a tactical camp and his coaching was professional and very encouraging. He kept the group engaged while making me feel like I was getting the attention I needed to learn the techniques to apply during the training class and how to use it in real life. I’ve been taking classes here for 3 years. I started because I’m a small woman who’s had sh*t happen and I needed to learn how to properly defend myself. The other members are friendly and supportive. Josh has created a comfortable space to learn avoidance, deescalation, and defensive techniques while also incorporating relevant stress drills. The skills I’ve learned at Evolve helped me to stay calm and get out of real conflicts on more than one occasion.In the last few months I’ve also been taking combat kickboxing from Coach Ian and sparring classing from Coach Will. Both have really improved my technique. All of the coaches are dedicated and enthusiastic. I highly recommend all of the coaches and their classes!

Joshua was introduced to me through a tactical camp. His teaching and communication is that of a world class Instructor! I learned and RETAINED more from Joshua in a very narrow timeframe than I had with weeks of instruction in my past. This being said, I highly recommend any opportunity you have to experience his unique and experienced teaching style! Hopefully I will get a future opportunity to experience his instruction in my future. If you ever get that opportunity, do not hesitate to participate in Joshuas vast collection of knowledge. Their Martials Arts and Krav Maga class for kids are far more then techniques and sets, they teach and reinforce life skills. My family started out 2 years ago because I noticed my neighbors son became noticeable more confident and a better listener. They told me about a self-defense class he was taking so I looked them up. We tried other martial art schools in the past, however the results I saw made me want to try it again. From day one, they taught my kids what goals were and how to set and achieve them. My daughter became more confident to try new things and not be afraid of mistakes. My son has become more focused and assertive. Family trips have been easier since the Instructors reinforce the importance of teamwork and family. Each class the instructors have a daily goal and mat chat. They have monthly goals they work on to earn their stripe. These goals are personal, home, family, or even school related. Then and only then, can they earn a rank stripe for progression. My son missed earning a strip because of his attitude at home and once for not turning in homework. The instructors set the expectations and guide them through the process. Its great having all the instructors repeating and reinforcing the same things we are at home. Now we have 4 families we carpool with from the neighborhood. The kids all train together and play together now, it has made raising children much easier. I recommend to everyone with children to make sure their kids learn Krav Maga and life skills from Evolve Martial Arts. Thank you for you help and patience!

We have been so happy with the Evolve Martial Arts. Our son, 6, started martial arts there two years ago. They work on martial arts stills, but life skills are strongly emphasized. The kids complete monthly Black Belt Excellence Sheets worksheets that focus on a different areas- resilience, bullies, friends, goal setting, happiness, etc. They help us continue to emphasize what theyve learned in class beyond just the physical aspects.We have noticed significant improvements in our sons confidence, focus and perseverance since he began martial arts. I would highly recommend this studio.

For 4 years !ve been training with Evolve. All the instructors are great. The more intense sessions are what ! refer to as boot camp with a purpose They will get you fit. All the sessions will teach you skills that may save your butt some day especially with what has been going on lately.

I have been going to Evolve since January 2020 and love the classes offered here. I go to both the kickboxing and Krav classes as well as taking the extra classes, such as flashlight self defense and concealed carry certification and private lessons. The classes offered here are second to none.Coach Ian leads the kickboxing classes and offers a great workout on top of learning multiple types of techniques and combos.Coach Josh teaches krav maga and i take private lessons from him as well. In just a few private lessons my striking greatly improved. The krav classes teach real world self defense scenarios and striking Coach Josh really takes the time to break down each aspect of a technique to show how and why it works.The coaching at Evolve is excellent and so is the community and camaraderie. Cannot recommend Evolve enough.

My 12 year old daughter (black belt) and my 8 year old son (high green belt) have been training with Evolve for 5 years and they continue to enjoy it. Coach Thomas and Coach Ian are so knowledgeable and are great with the kids. They focus on teaching them respect, confidence and many other life lessons alongside the martial arts curriculum. As a parent, it is a comfort knowing that my kids have the teachings tode-escalate an uncomfortable situation, handle bullies and defend themselves in a worse case situation. I truly believe that they have become stronger people through this program. I highly recommend Evolve for any parent who wants to strengthen their child’s discipline and self-confidence.

The best! I started training there about 1.5 years ago. The staff is fantastic. The training has been great. I feel fitter and better prepared. Im not about competition; Im all about self-improvement and Evolve has helped me accomplish that. I could not recommend Evolve too highly. Truly outstanding.

The reason for two stars is not the instruction, it is the business management. They lock you into a year long contract and even when COVID shuts them down for months and our son went away to finish his schooling, the owner would not consider refunding us any of the money. His reasoning was he is a small business and wasnt taking a salary and couldnt afford any refunds.I get that, I work with small business owners every day who are dealing with the consequences of the COVID-19 economic shutdown. But there is still a right way and a lot of wrong ways to treat clients . . . the owner here chose the wrong way.Cannot recommend working with this person or organization.

My mom and I joined for a womens self defense class/clinic, I learned more in this class than any other womens self defense class Ive ever taken. I plan to return again. The staff and coaches are awesome and they have built an amazing community of people to support them. I felt very comfortable and welcome. I highly recommend this place if you are at all interested, youll get in shape too.

I was in the beginning of my coaching career, I had never had experience working with kids let alone teaching them martial arts. I had been looking for a place to learn Krav that was not fitness Krav and I found it. I was so lucky to find Evolve. They give you 2 free classes so you can really see what you are getting into and after the second class I felt zero pressure to sign up. I was told the price and that was that. I did sign up and it was a great decision! I love the classes. I am learning a lot and I do get a side bonus of a short workout! The instructors are great as well. They really break down the training and showing us why we are learning each skill. They are also so amazing with the little guys, they are kind and patient. I recommend Evolve 100% for all ages!

I train with a different Krav Maga school and was in Denver for a week. I contacted Joshua to ask if I could drop in for a class or two during my stay. He called me the same day and was very accommodating regarding my request. Joshua and the students were very welcoming. The class instruction was concise and fluid. Joshua explains the techniques thoroughly and stresses functionality and awareness. I highly recommend attending this school if possible.

If you are a beginner wanting to learn Krav Maga, I cannot recommend Evolve Martial Arts highly enough! The instructors, Ben, Josh and Jessie, are all absolutely amazing. Knowledgeable, focused, and caring, they dont just teach general concepts, but actively work with you to improve. I trained with them for eight months, and loved my experience. The classes were always fun, interesting, and challenging. If you make the effort to learn and get better, the instructors will do more than meet you half way. Great trainers, great space, great students and great approach! I was looking for basic self defense and more so, awareness training. Joshua and his team take care of everyone in class to make sure they improve every class. I highly recommend for beginners to advanced. Evolves customer service is also great. I had an issue with their external accounting/payment company during an injury and was allowed to make up classes.

I could not recommend Evolve Krav Maga more highly. Joshua and Ian have a wealth of knowledge and experiences that we students get to benefit from. The way Joshua teaches Krav Maga classes is dynamic, practical, and fun! I am always impressed by the way he can flexibly crack a joke and have fun but also snap back to business.

Josh and Ian are AMAZING! I have been training with them for several months now and there is always something to be learned. From the first minute I spent in this studio I was thoroughly impressed. This is not just a Karate class for kids just to keep them active. This Krav Maga is real life self defense, self esteem and confidence training. I even learned simply by watching my sons classes.

My 9 year old daughter has been enrolled for almost 1 year, I have noticed such a difference in her confidence and strength. She loves working with her coaches and has really grown through the program. I would highly recommend this program to any young girls.

I recently discovered Evolve Martial Arts. The Lead instructor, Josh, is very respectful and really puts in the effort to explain the WHY behind what is going on. Everyone who trains at Evolve is very welcoming and willing to teach others. I have practiced a different art for about 10 years and although there are a lot of similarities, there is a lot of different and practical skills used for self defense. As a college student and EMT Evolve Martial arts is a great place to train and learn skills that can be used in an emergency.

I have done many martial arts classes before and none of them have been as good as Evolve Martial Arts. I went in for Krav Maga group classes. It was so amazing I decided to take privates. I feel much more secure with my surroundings and have learned a ton of new moves I did not know before. I highly recommend this gym! 10/10

Ive heard that a great culture starts with a great leader, how fortunate that this place has three. It seems like everyone in the gym is so supportive, not least of all the instructors, Josh and Ben and Jesse. I love that they balance out classes with a hands on and hands off approach, giving us the flexibility to discover the feel, while getting the right amount of feedback. The format of their classes is exceptional, pad, practice, partner... They handle the experienced fighters and the new folks seamlessly, and its clear they have passion and pride in the work they do... and the improvement Ive made to my defensive training, even since I began just a couple classes ago, is striking :D... Joshua (Mr. Thomas) has been my instructor since I started practicing martial arts. He has always been very thourough with his technique and his teaching style. I’ve always been excited to go to his classes, not only for the workout, but because of how easy he makes it to understand the physics behind each technique. After practicing for many years, I can say that Mr. Thomas has helped me feel more fluid and in control of my fighting and quick decision making. I would absolutely work with him again!

Disorganized, informal and misleading.Initially, I was very excited to join this academy. I met one of the lead instructors, Josh, and he seemed knowledgeable. Then, I took a class or two and really enjoyed the team. Most people who practice here are level headed and very pleasant. Unfortunately, the academy itself appeared to be falling apart, from an internal structural way. The lead instructor would one day teach a certain technique, then contradict himself on the following class and sometimes be very repetitive and disorganized. I felt as if he didnt feel confident enough on his personal teaching skills.Another thing was the lack of communication and transparency. He would charge one student a certain amount, then others differently. Some students received ID cards, others didnt. And, what got me the most is was that he would give me the run around every time I asked him about his certifications, as if he was always avoiding the question. This academy is certified under Krav Maga Denver.After calling some other Krav Maga academies and asking around I was informed that this organization is not officially accepted within the other official certifying organizations. Its not even recognized in Israel. Anyhow, this is not the most important or concerning issue. This place is lacking in many aspects. For beginners who dont really know anything about Martial Arts they will be easily awed by the threatics of the lead instructor. But, for serious individuals who are interested in getting their moneys worth while obtaining a wholesome experience... You will be disappointed. I do not recommend this place. I really wanted to like this academy because the students are a really cool group. But, unfortunately I cant waste my money. And, for the record I am referring to ADULT KRAV MAGA classes only and this is my personal perspective. Not the childrens classes. You be the judge. Dont be fooled.

I just want to thank you all for all the opportunities to learn and challenge myself over the past few months. Its been fun and insightful and has helped structure a lot of my early thoughts on training. Josh, Dan and Ben are all great instructors who are willing to put in extra time, if you put in the effort. They are always eager to share their knowledge and training with them has been an honor!

I worked with Josh right before I went to college initially to learn a little bit of self defense. However, I learned so much more. I became more confident, I found my new favorite way to work out, and I never felt like I was in some pay a little more and you get your next belt place. I also worked with Josh in between soccer seasons which meant I was often injured in some way shape or form and he was always able to find ways around that so I could still get a good workout in without worrying about being more injured. Truly a great experience and a great trainer!

I attended this gym for about a year and a half and it is a great space. Everyone is very friendly and after my sparring bag was stolen out of my car, Josh offered me a pair of shin guards to keep so that I could keep attending sparring. Also the water fountain is 10/10.

This young ladys look of confidence is not something she was born with - it was instilled. A big part of Libertys growth was nurtured by Mr. Thomas and Ben.Mr. Thomas (Josh) began working with Liberty when she was three and helped her develop skills and confidence as she grew. She no longer tolerates bullying, she stands up for those weaker than her and she excels in everyday skills. I believe the formation of these traits had a lot to do with the time, training and discipline gained from Evolve Martial Arts. I recommend this institution for any child and especially for those requiring a little extra guidance.

I was looking for a new aspect of self defense and I found it! I have been in the Executive Protection industry for 10 years now and learned many aspects of combat. Josh & Ben have been an amazing instructors and what makes it great is their attention to each individual student. Evolve excels in terms of the quality of instruction, the integration of concepts into real-life scenarios, the supplemental classes available, and the high end instruction. We had a fantastic experience with a birthday party here. Wed won a party from my sons school and had his fifth with Evolve. The guys were great, and the kids and (maybe more importantly) parents really enjoyed it. Id been nervous, but almost every parent came up to me after and said it was a great idea. A couple even said it was the best party theyd been to!

Owner Josh is completely disorganized. Example...no belts or awards for the kids for their graduation(which parents pay for), they closed the location and we were never notified! No working number, nothing. An amazing teacher was pushed out and the place went sooo down hill. Stay far far away! And beware he doesn’t like bad reviews, sure I’m about to be harassed like many others.

This Krav school is phenomenal. The 2 instructors, Ben and Josh, really love what they do and it shows. The classes are only hands on, so you get really comfortable with the combat. I highly recommend learning these life saving techniques for men and women. Women dont be intimidated by the idea of hand to hand combat. Everything is very controlled and professional. Check them out. Kid friendly!

Having no prior background in martial arts or combat, I have been very pleased with the progressive self-defense training Evolve has provided me in the last six months.The instructors are highly knowledgeable, relatable and friendly and provide sophisticated instruction that feels accessible for a novice like me. The skills and drills practices are very applicable to real life scenarios and have me feeling much more alert, aware of my surroundings, and confident in my ability to defend myself in a threatening situation.I highly recommend these guys!

I enrolled my daughter in a Krav Maga class at Evolve Martial Arts for about a year. As of student of Joshua in the Young Champions class, I witnessed some amazing growth in my daughters overall focus, discipline, and confidence. She has become much more independent in her life because she knows that she can take care of herself and that she is capable of accomplishing whatever she sets her mind to, which in my opinion is impressive for such a young girl. Brilliant place, a really incredible workout and a very welcoming place to everyone across the spectrum, athletes train alongside people who think push ups are a kind of bra. We all help each other be better fighters, and our supportive and brilliant teachers are there to set the pace to challenge us safely.

The techniques and skills that I learned from Evolve were invaluable to my experience in the academy as well as my law enforcement career.I recommend Evolve Martial Arts to anyone who has no previous experience with martial arts, as well as those who have been training for years.Joshuas teaching style allows the student to learn by experience using effective demonstrations and hands on training. He also conducts seminars on specialized subjects like home invasion and gun defense as well as fun-runs like running around Washington Park with self defense stations built in.I recommend Evolve to anyone, from someone who wants to learn something new and fun, to someone who wants to hone their self defense skills.

Had the opportunity to participate in the Evolve program as part of other training. The instructor was well prepared and effectively broke down the various drills in a well designed process.

My boys and I earned our black belts with Mr. Thomas a few years back. It was a fantastic experience. He focuses on building kids (and adults) up while teaching them focus, commitment, respect and discipline.

Truly passionate and innovative instructors. Their Krav classes are great, from warm up to the end. They are reinforcing techniques and concepts that have real world application. Coming in early, I have a chance to watch their youth intermediate classes. I would never want to mess with any of them! Aside for Krav, they also teach the kids decision making skills, leadership, and goal setting. Much different than other schools I have visited and trained in.

Great place, great people, very fun and challenging workout for all fitness levels. Highly recommend for anyone considering self defense classes.

This is truly a hidden gem. The instructors are amiable and completely amazing. Ive never been so excited to be working out and you are learning so much in just an hour.

Mr.Thomas was my first instructor in the mixed martial arts and gave me great direction. He makes you feel comfortable wether you are brand new to the arts or have been training for years. The classes are built to cater toward the student so no matter what hinderance your body may have, there is a way to train! Ive trained with him for over 3 years and still stay in contact til this day. If youre looking for the best martial arts this is it and it comes with one of the greatest instructors a student could ask for no matter your age.

I have had the opportunity to work and train with Josh for the past 4-5 years, and it was a pleasure. The man is good at what he does, and knows how to create a fun, effective, and most importantly safe training environment. As a student in the teen Krav Maga class, I love it! Not only is it great to learn how to protect yourself, self-discipline, working with others, safety, and so much more, class is enjoyable and I get excited to go to class. Josh and Ian are such great instructors who make sure their students are learning new skills and understanding the reasoning behind the moves we learn. I have been attending the class for three months now, and I have already learned so much. Thanks guys!

Writing this review was difficult because of the fact that there is no 10 star option. Before every class I am just very pumped to take part in what these AMAZING instructors have in store for us. Evolve is extremely flexible for everyones needs and very supportive to everyone. If you are looking for a bad community, turn away now because you will only find people who are absolutely amazing to work out with and learn new things.

I was so excited when I found evolve martial arts! As a female college student, Ive been wanting to take self defense classes for a while, but havent found anything worth staying in. This place has become part of my weekly routine though! Krav Maga is an amazing workout, and Joshua Thomas is an amazing coach. He makes the classes accessible for anyone to join at ANY level, but still always challenging for the ones that have been there. He is also always offering extra seminars and other opportunities to improve your skills. First class is free so just try it!

Ive been attending classes (not so consistently) for a few months now. I love this place! The fundamentals courses are a decent workout and I walk out with the feeling that I learned something new, every time. I plan on being a member long term!

Great classes.The Krav Maga classes provide a good balance of physical activity and mental preparedness.The kickboxing / conditioning class is by far the hardest I have ever exercised and we never do the same thing twice.The other people who go are always friendly and helpful.Dynamic and attentive instructor. It is obvious that he is excited about teaching the classes and is personally interested in marital arts / self defense.Hoping we start getting more classes available soon.

I found Evolve through a Groupon special and it allowed me to find a new way to work out that is challenging while also helping me be part of a community of people that push you to be a better version of yourself. Ive learned so much that a couple months ago I signed on for full membership so I can continue to learn and grow. I highly recommend Evolve!

These guys are awesome! They take you through real world scenarios and teach you the steps you need to take to deal with these scenarios. More importantly they train you to think and keep your head in stressful situations. Evolve helps to insure that you are not a soft target in a hard situation.

I am training 4 times a month and now changed it to 12. The class is awesome and I learn new Krav Maga techniques each week. I can see myself improving and becoming more confident with the exercises. I would recommend these classes with Josh. A great way to stay in shape and learn self defense.

We love going to classes every week- Joshua is a fantastic instructor that teaches to all levels of experience and fitness, and he is great with both kids and adults. We are beginners and see ourselves improving with every class. Every week I walk away with techniques that I could apply in a real life situation right away, which is one of the things I love most about Krav Maga.
