Excellent environment for kids

Tiger Rock is an amazing Martial Arts organization that teaches focus, perseverance, respect, and self-esteem. All this on top of being a great work-out. We are grateful to be a part of the Tiger Rock family. The instructors here are all amazing people and great role models. Our son has been a member of Tiger Rock for almost five years now and is so committed to the experience that he is working to one day becoming an instructor himself so that he can share what he has learned and be a role model for others too. There are classes for all ages and skill levels. If youre looking for a place to train, you’ll love this Academy.

My son came to me a year ago with a flyer from school asking to join Glendale taekwondo. Being a kid who doesnt like anything but playing on his tablet or Xbox I thought this was a great opportunity to get him off the couch and it was the best decision I have made for him! Everything about his experience with tiger rock has been positive. He is more confident, respectful, determined, and focused!!

This place is awesome! The instructors are top-notch. They genuinely care about my kids and encourage and support them. Very professional and enthusiastic as well as compassionate. It feels like family. I would highly recommend!

My son and I have been going to Glendale Taekwondo for about 4 months now, and it has been an amazing experience.When I signed my son and myself up, I was a little nervous that I would feel out of place being in my 30s and just starting down this path, but I really wanted to be able to do this with my son. The first day, I realized that was not something to worry about as there are students of all ages at the different ranks with different levels of skill.The staff is very patient with all the students, and the other students are great to work with as well. Combined this creates a great family atmosphere that is comfortable for all.I would highly recommend Glendale Taekwondo to anyone considering martial arts for themselves or their family.

Great place everyone is so friendly and easy to talk to. Very helpful and lots of one on one training they really take pride in teaching the kids here. Best place I’ve been to and a great group of instructors. Love that my son enjoys coming here. Very helpful with his behavior issues. And instructors also help if your having issues your trying to teach your kids right or wrong as they will talk with the students.

They have the BEST staff, frequent classes and the owner is very good at responding to the oodles of messages I have left (since our family joined a few months ago.) They are probably priced competitively too (although, Ive honestly never checked into it.) This place is great!!

My grandson has been a member of Glendale Taekwondo since he turned 4.He became interested because of watching episodes of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. We wanted to act on his interest and couldnt be more pleased with our decision to enroll him.I read many reviews of various Taekwondo academies. I asked friends with same age children if they knew of any academies enrolling young children and didnt get any positive feedback.I happened upon a Groupon offer for Glendale Taekwondo and researched reviews on their studio. Although the studio is a little out of the way for us, this one seemed to fit what I was looking for. I was looking for a kid friendly, patient, exciting, fun, focused, welcoming group of instructors. We hit the lotto with Glendale Taekwondo. No doubt.My grandson has been enrolled since Sept 1, 2017 and is still going strong. He started as a Tiger Cub and earned all 7 belts white through black. He currently is in the junior division as a yellow belt. Since being a member:1. he has confidence to protect himself should the need arise2. he focuses on respecting others3. he respects adults he comes in contact with4. he keeps his hands to himself at school5. he is learning to manage his time and keep a calendar for all of his sports, homework, and extras that we do6. he knows that every stripe and belt he receives is earned through his focus and hard work7. he feels empowered to make goals, reach them, and continue to make new goalsIf you are looking for a wholesome atmosphere for your kid(s), this is the place. The parents are all pretty awesome too. ;-)

I didnt know how my 5-year-old daughter would take to martial arts, but she absolutely loves it, and its in huge part to the awesome instructors who work so well with the younger children in the Tiger Cubs program. They teach them so much, and do it in a positive way that builds their confidence. I am so happy we joined & highly recommend them!!

Our 4-year-old just started about 6 weeks ago and absolutely LOVES going each week. Every day he asks if its a class day. He has always been well mannered, but he is so respectful with his yes maam and yes sirs now. When he got his first stripe he was so excited he sat in class kissing his belt. I am so excited to see him so passionate and fulfilled by something.

My son(7) really enjoys going to class. They keep it interesting by making each class different. They have plenty of instructors and older kids helping so the kids all get more attention to help them along. Great place

I am from a country where I been raised stating that women need men in their life to protect them , but I always had these question in my mind is that really TRUE? I came here from India and decided to erase this memory from my mind and life and joined this Glendale Taekwondo Academy, now this is my family here . I cannot say enough great things about Tiger Rock Taekwondo. They are passionate about Taekwondo, and about passing along their knowledge to their students. All of the instructors are incredible and find a way to know each student and help them through any struggles they may be having in class, and celebrating their accomplishments. My daughter has come so far, since first starting and we are so proud of her. We cant imagine taking her anywhere else. Great family environment and a wonderful support to our community!

Our kids have been at Glendale Taekwondo for a couple of years now. All of the instructors are amazing and work really well with our kids! We love that we are able to come as many times during the week as we can. Our kids enjoy Summer Camps and the Holiday Camps as well! They have private, one on one lessons available to help with any skill! Our kids always have fun and learn great self defense techniques as well as honor and respect for themselves and others. We LOVE it there!!!

I enrolled my son into taekwondo with the intentions of him learning self defense. It’s now going on 4 years that we’ve been with Glendale Taekwondo Academy and my son has learn much more than just self defense. All of the instructors are amazing with all of their students. And now during this pandemic we have now adapted to virtual classes through zoom. The virtual classes are just like being at the academy. The instructors are very engaged in every class they teach. This academy allows for your student to attend 6 classes a week. Most academy’s allow only 8 classes a month when Tiger Rock allows up to 24 classes for the same price as 8 classes somewhere else. During the summer breaks they also created a summer camp that consisted in weapons training and nerf wars. This has been the best decision Ive mafor my son and his future.

Our son Andrew age 6, has been going here for a 4-5 months and he loves it. We love how they really train the kids. The whole staff is absolutely amazing. They test the kids in order for them to move up in belts, if they dont pass they dont move up. I believe this is the only way to learn marital arts, because they make sure they know the moves 100%. We got him a few one on one classes and it has made such a difference. They are SO good with the little kids. They focus on positive reinforcement and the kids thrive because of it. SO THANK YOU SO MUCH GUYS AND GALS FOR MAKING A DIFFERENCE AND ACTUALLY CARING YOU ALL ROCK!!!

Glendale Taekwondo Academy has been an inspiring and fulfilling experience for my son, and the emphasis on developing positive life skills has fostered confidence, socialization skills, self-discipline, and self-esteem! My son is developing real leadership skills, how to listen better, pay attention and follow directions, which carries over into school, helping to improve behavior and even his grades. The values I stress at home are reinforced at karate. Karate has helped my son appreciate hard work and yields excellent results. My son has a deeper understanding of self-control, honor, dignity and self-discipline. He has great self-confidence, knowing he can accomplish anything he sets his sights on! My son looks forward to his training every day. He says” Karate is pretty AWESOME mom”.

Our son has been attending Taekwondo Academy for a year. He loves it! It has been very good for him. He was one of those that had a very difficult time paying attention and focusing. We noticed improvement right away. He enjoys the other kids in the class as well. We are also very pleased with the confidence our son has gained since he started. The instructors are wonderful. They take the time to help each individual student.

Since my son and myself started here. His behavior has improved dramatically. The instructors and owner are very hands on. They learn your name and go out of their way to talk to you and teach you. The classes are awesome and coordinated very well. They are open to new ideas aswell. If you are looking to learn and want to have fun this is the place for you. In January 2009, my oldest son started at Glendale Taekwondo Academy. Now, 7 years later, my oldest is still there as well as my 2 other sons and my husband. The instructors treat us all with genuine respect and courtesy. They know how to be firm with their instruction but have fun as well. My children have also enjoyed the summer camps as well as birthday parties at the school. We have recommended this school to many friends and will continue to do so.

We signed our daughter up at Glendale Taekwondo over a year ago. We were really impressed in the benefits she recieved while there such as her attitude, respect, discipline, balance, and new learned skill of the martial arts. I was really close to suspending my account when all the covid 19 stuff hit, but I stuck around to see what they would do with virtual learning. The set up they have through Facebook and Zoom was highly impressive and let us continue to attend regular classes in addition to allowing my daughter to make testing and obtain her next belt level all from the comfort and safety of our own home. We love Glendale Taekwondo and everything there about.

I have nothing but great things to say about Glendale Taekwondo Academy. My daughter first started over three years ago and it has given her so much confidence in her everyday life. My husband and I joined shortly after she started since we saw how much she enjoyed it. It has changed not only my daughters life, but our whole family. My son has been attending Glendale Taekwondo Academy for almost a year. He was hesitant about starting but the instructors were friendly and made him feel comfortable. Now he looks forward to going four times a week! His coordination and focus have noticeably improved - even outside the class. We have attended several years, and I love this place and so does my son. They have worked side by side with him any time he has a struggle. This academy is quite a distance from my house but well worth the drive. The instructors not only are knowledgable and professional they process the special skill of knowing how to work with children. The children know what to expect out of class and know what is expected out of them, not just moves , but behaviors and respect. If unacceptable behaviors arise the behavior easily changes with the finesse of these professionals without the child being punished. This is the best teaching /learning environment . The instructors have proved to be a great role models as well. All around this is by far the best activity in my grandsons life with the best people..........top notch people.

I cant think of a better place for martial arts than Glendale Taekwondo Academy. The focus of this studio is 100% on the growth of its students (youth, adults and everyone in between) and of its instructors. They have a tremendous 15 step black belt program that helps each student grow as a martial artist and as a person. All of the staff/instructors know each students name and exude the tenets of Tiger-Rock Taekwondo - Honor, courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control, courage, community strength, humility, and knowledge. As part of that, Glendale Taekwondo has given back to students school teachers and has an incredible Board Break-A-Thon that helps raise money for the Phoenix Childrens hospital. Its been about 1 1/2 years and my son is well on his way to his black belt and is really passionate about Taekwondo thanks to everyone at Glendale Taekwondo Academy. if youre looking for a great place for yourself or your children to grow as a person as well as learn Taekwondo and make friends, I would recommend this location for you.

What an amazing group of students and instructors! I have had the pleasure of being Mr. Rigdons instructor for over 20 years. This past weekend I had the privelege of teaching his instructor team and students. and I was impressed to say the least! The students and instructors were not only great martial artists but their courtesy and willingness to go the extra mile were among the best Ive ever worked with! Our older child attended for 3 years and now our younger child is enrolled. In the time we have been a part of the Glendale Taekwondo Academy we have been extremely happy with the services they provide. Our children enjoy attending class, we feel welcome and all our questions are always answered quickly and to our satisfaction. We feel attending classes is a good value for our family.

Ive been part of Glendale Taekwondo Academy since 2010, first my oldest daughter, then me and now also my youngest son. It helped my oldest in high school to be more active, stay focus and gain more self confidence. Ive always loved martial arts and had been doing some karate before, but stopped because of a bit of too extreme moves and requirements I was too afraid to do. So here I can push my own physical limits and extreme tumbling is not part of curriculum. So it is actually very good exercise also for adults closer to senior age as instructors while highly encouraging you to push your limits also respect your capabilities. It is great fun for my youngest boy (6), he went through tiger cubs and now is junior green belt. I admire passion for taekwondo of the instructors here as well as focus to follow tenets of Taekwondo.

Fantastic studio - the instructors are so good with my son, who has struggled with discipline issues in the past. His instructors have made a WORLD of difference! My son has gained both discipline and confidence all from learning to channel his energy into taekwondo. We are so grateful for this studio!

We took our daughter (4yrsold) and she was so nervous. They were absolutely great with the kids! I would highly recommend this place! Clean, great employees, and they teach amazingly! Plus, there are seats for parents and you can see inside the rooms .

We were looking for a place for our son that both pushed him physically, but also was a kind and safe environment. We found that at Glendale Taekwondo Academy. The instructors are caring and knowledgeable in what they are doing. I have found that they are not there just for a job, but love being there.Another great attribute of Glendale Taekwondo Academy is their schedule. Our son also plays flag football, and we have been able to fit in both activities because of the schedule that they have devised.If you are looking for a taekwondo academy that cares for your child, your schedule, and your wallet, I would say that you need not look any further.

Absolutely love this place. The instructors are amazing and have helped my son with some much outside of martial arts. His confidence grows every day I’m blown away at the dedication and love he has shown for learning Tae Kwon Do. I couldn’t have asked for a better group of instructors.

Our son started attending Glendale TKD several months ago and we have seen a complete turn around in regards to his attitude and motivation. We love every single instructor at the Academy. They are absolutely amazing with the kids. They are firm and expect proper behavior from the kids, yet they love to have fun with them. They are also extremely helpful, responding to any question in a timely manner and with a great attitude. My son loves going on a daily basis and hates when he has to miss. When we began looking at Martial arts studios, we tried several. Many made us feel they couldnt care less if we joined or not, others made us feel like we were buying a used car. Luckily I came across Glendale TaeKwanDo Academy in a Google search. Today its been 8 years we have attended Glendale TaeKwanDo Academy! The Instructors and owners are phenomenal! They seem to really enjoy working with the kids, and exemplify the tenant of TaeKwanDo. My son has basically grown up at Glendale TaeKwanDo Academy. We have made so many friends and connections with people we have come to think of as family. I highly recomend Glendale TaeKwanDo Academy if you are looking for a martial arts academy you can be confident about.

I was first introduced to this academy through Groupon. I purchased a 6 week trial Groupon for my son, age 7, and daughter, age 5, and within days knew that we would enroll after our 6 weeks was up. Not only is taekwondo about learning self defense, but its also about learning discipline. My kids didnt have any discipline issues but within a week of the start of classes I was getting Yes, Maam after each request I asked of my children. What a shock! Martial arts of any kind, but more specifically with this academy, would be a great idea if you are having respect and discipline difficulties with one or more of your children.Aside from that, with the issues of bullying going rampant these days, I wanted my children to learn self defense at an early age. They are learning great building blocks on the moves to use if ever necessary but also when and where is the appropriate time and not the appropriate time to use their taekwondo skills. I enjoy their pledges that they take at the beginning of every single class. This is something that will become engrained in them.The instructors at Glendale Taekwondo Academy are outstanding. Mr. Rigdon, Mr. Bushroe andMr. Markovic (hope I spelled them all correctly!) just to name a few, are excellent instructors that my kids enjoy. I could not be around that many kids for 4 hours straight every single day but they make it look easy. They give the kids a fun environment to do things they normally probably arent allowed to do, like scream their pledge as loud as possible or run around like crazed animals to get warmed up. This is the kids outlet.Finally, this academy gives the kids something to strive for and a sense of accomplishment. We have been through one round of testing and one graduation ceremony to move on to the next belt color with another round coming up within a couple of weeks. My children were so excited to do all of it and I could see how proud they were of themselves but also the way they soaked up the praise from us as their parents and the instructors. The ceremony is a super fun event and now that theyve experienced it once before, they know what they are striving for each round of testing. My son is a yellow belt who will be testing for his green belt soon, which is when they get their sparring gear. This is a major step.You cannot go wrong with this academy and you will see such a difference in your child within only a few sessions!

Glendale TKD Academy is an awesome place for children and adults alike! The owner and staff at Glendale TKD are phenomenal! They are truly dedicated to making sure each student is fulfilled and advances their skills in a disciplined and comfortable setting.My son, Jack, has been attending Glendale TKD since December 2012 and has enjoyed every moment. He was only 9 years old when he started; which was a perfect time for him to learn about being more disciplined and committed to setting and achieving his goals. Glendale TKD has given Jack the opportunity to be truly dedicated to learning in a structured environment while enhancing his people and life skills.Jack, through his hard work and dedication, became a black belt after only 2 years and a couple of months. He moved up the ranks quickly and even rank-skipped when he was a blue belt; which was extremely encouraging to him and was a testimony to his hard work in class and in advancing his skills. Jack was also invited to be a member of a special “enthusiast” group which encourages students to lead and teach others in the lower belt level classes at Glendale TKD.Jack is excited to be a part of a great place that gives him the opportunity to grow, learn and excel each week. Working with children can be difficult at times especially in large groups. The staff is always very patient with them no matter what size the class is.

The development that my daughter has had after starting her classes at this academy has been phenomenal. She is more focused on many aspects and her confidence in herself is unique.
