My two sons and I have been taking Tae Kwon Do for 4-5 months here. It has been a great experience. Master An is a good and kind teacher. He takes his time with each student to help them learn the art. You can see his care for his students and their development.I would strongly recommend visiting the Do-Jang and see for yourself. You will not regret it. We are lucky to have found this school.

Master An is an amazing mentor, instructor and overall person. He sincerely cares about all his students and their families. He promotes the importance of family, camaraderie and teamwork. Classes include group learning as well as he works in 1:1 time with each student, which is invaluable. Master An is so patient with all ages and skill levels and is excellent at recognizing students for their progress and good behavior. Students also learn some Korean language – it’s so cool! My daughter has been a student for over two years and last month she achieved her 1st Dan Black Belt. We often talk about how lucky we are that we found Master An – we can’t imagine going anywhere else! We 110% recommend Yong-In Master An’s Taekwondo!

We have been going to Yong-In Master An’s Taekwondo for over 3 years now. I must say he is definitely a great teacher. My child is currently a 1st Dan Black belt and made him a very focused disciplined, and respectful young man. I love the values that this martial arts school teaches. I saw a guy left a 1 Star, and I’m like this guy must have only lasted a few months. Yup, well there it is. You have to trust the process and learn from his teachings. We are very happy that we have found an excellent Taekwondo teacher, Mr. Master An cares & is very knowledgeable, he has made my family & I feel very welcomed. Master An is an excellent teacher. He has a firm yet playful approach. His students really do adore him. I am also appreciative of his ability to work with students all abilities. My husband chanced on finding a summer class for our daughter that would be worthwhile in building confidence as well as physical exercise (especially after almost a year of doing online classes). After undergoing the two week trial, we decided to let our daughter continue with her classes until the present. My daughter thoroughly enjoys the classes. Every class she is always smiling. We were lucky to have found this Taekwondo class for our daughter as Master An also helps build on other life skills for the students like discipline and focus , and not just Taekwondo.

Went to the old surprise location 7 years ago and the master here blew me away. We stopped going due to scheduling. Once my son was old enough I found out the surprise location had closed. Waited a year and a half found my old uniform moving stuff. Googled him and found hes still in business! When I called the master answered himself, asked when we can come by. So we went down that day and he remembered me. He was very kind and patient with my son, thx sir.

Master An is an incredible teacher. My oldest 3 have all taken his classes, my oldest is has recently earned his orange belt and is now participating in the sparring classes. Master An is excellent in teaching patience, respect and self control, but keeps class fun and challenging. We thoroughly enjoy this studio!

My 8 year old son had never wanted to sign up for soccer, baseball or any other team sport, but he liked the idea of learning martial arts, so we went to watch a class at Yong-In Master Ans Taekwondo. My son had been bored watching a karate class the day before, so I didnt expect him to click with it.  I was wrong. Within 5 minutes, he was mesmerized by Master An, and the amazing techniques that the students were learning from him. He was bubbling with enthusiasm, and after 15 minutes he said Daddy I definitely want to take these lessons. As a mature adult I studied with Master An all the way to achieving my 1st Degree Black Belt. The instruction and fitness training was excellent! Our family has known Master An since 2004, when our son began TKD with him in Algonquin, IL. When our son first walked into his first class, I remember he stumbled over when bowing. Six years later he was a 3rd star Dan. Our son who is now attending college, has retained a lot of the tools that he learned from Master An. The tools that were reinforced with Master An were confidence, self respect, self awareness and team work. As a parent it was refreshing to see Master An earn the kids respect, and ultimately they earned his. Enrolling our son into Tiger Ans program is one of the best decisions we ever made. We miss him here in Illinois, but are blessed to be able to call him friend.

Weve been part of this TKD studio for about a year and a half, and we love it!My son (now 5.5 yo) started first and I started over the summer. As an adult, I find its a great workout, and (bonus!) Im getting confident in my ability to defend myself. Im half-Korean, so I also chose this place because the Master is Korean and I wanted the potentially most authentic experience. 🤷‍♀️😄

The instructor has no communication skills. He is very hard to understand and gets mad when you dont understand him. There is no direction with testing. He gives your child a uniform and you are left to figure everything else out. We only lasted a couple of months with this place. Thankfully we found a place that speaks English and treats the kids and parents with respect. Save your money. Just my opinion.

My granddaughter attends Master An’s . I am extremely pleased. I see Master An show patients with her and other students when they are not concentrating or do not understand. He is kind when explaining and demonstrating moves to all students. Our family enjoys seeing how my granddaughter has grown attending the Tae Kwan Do.

Great place for instruction and discipline. Master An is great with kids. My kids come home wanting to train more in taekwondo. We love his humor. Even during rough times of Covid, Master An is always seen keeping the area clean and has students wearing masks. By far the best Tae Kwon Do school in the valley. All teachers are extremely proficient in the art of Tae Kwon Do and specialize in building true life skills needed to have a positive, confidant, and respectable outlook on day to day life. My child has grown so much since attending and would recommend this school 1000%.

Master An does an excellent job teaching Taekwondo to his students. He is patient and kind. He helps his students to build self-confidence and encourages them to set goals not only in the dojang but in all aspects of their life.

He’s the real deal. Very funny and entertaining guy. Will stop and let you take pictures if you’re new. Will also make you learn to speak some Korean so your brain and body are getting a workout during class.

I first took Master Ans Tae Kwondo class about 5 years ago. It was an amazing experience but I had to stop due to some financial constraints. Recently I was looking back into taking classes and was trying to find a teacher in my area (Ahwatukee) but none of them were up to par of Master An. I drive from Ahwatukee to Goodyear just to take Master Ans classes because they are just that good !!

I am Korean and have been studying Taekwondo for over 10 years. I have now been living in AZ for a few years and have tried at least 4 different studios prior to joining Master Ahn. I have studied with Master Ahn for 3 years and I can say this is the best studio in the county, hands down. If you want to learn the true art form of Taekwondo this is the place to learn. The people are passionate, and overall its a great time with great people.

We started taking our son (4 1/2 years old) to Master An a few months ago and have nothing but wonderful things to say about the experiences and learning that takes place. It is a fun, safe environment for kids to develop and grow!

Master An has literally changed my son’s life in the few short months we have been coming here. He has had some sensory issues in the past and fine motor delay, but after 3 months of Taekwondo, he has improved SO much compared to the last 2 years of Occupational Therapy! He has also gained much needed self confidence thanks to Master An. He is so good at quietly reading each child individually and finding ways to help them grow both physically and mentally. I appreciate that he is both stern and caring and is teaching our son to respect others. We’ve seen this crossover into life at home/school/church. But the best thing of all is that our son is always so excited to come to every class and has found a sport that he truly enjoys.

Master An is very attentive and I appreciate his caring nature about each of his students. They respond well because of him. My grandson has learned much in the few weeks he has been coming here. The requirements for achieving the next level belt are more than physical skills. The kids are learning self-discipline, and to take pride in being respectful towards instructors, other students and their parents. They are also learning some Korean terms and phrases, to pay attention and to focus. And on top of it all, my grandson is having fun and looks forward to going to class.

In any sport, the teacher/coach makes the experience. Master An is a master in his craft and the kids love him. He treats everyone like family, the students and the spectators. There is a balance of focus and fun. My son never feels pressure to be the best, only to try his best. My son is able to take his time to learn his skills and actually enjoy the journey.

I have never written a review on a place of business. Mainly because I’m too lazy to figure out how to do it. However, Yong-In Master An’s has changed my sons life ...so I figured it out. My son struggled with focus, paying attention, and following instructions. I used to go to Master Ans ahwatukee School about 3 years ago, I live in Glendale now and proudly drive 30 minutes so that I can still train with him. Ive shopped around for other taekwondo schools and none of them felt right. Master An is the best instructor in the valley.

I brought my 5 year old son who was really shy and they made him feel so welcome, and he came out of his shell!! We have been at Yong-In Master Ans for over 4 years now and it has been a life-changing experience for our son and our family as a whole. My 3 children started training here 3 years ago when they were 8, 10 and 13, and it has become a wonderful part of our lives. I was looking for a workout that would help me with both balance, stretching and cardio. I looked at many of the areas martial arts studios but picked Master Ans because it was a good mixture of ages and available classes. The way he connects with people shows he really cares and I was so surprised at support from the students, families & staff. Master An is a family oriented person. He has his students hug a member of their family at the end of every class. Also, whether you are athletic or not, he treats everybody the same and is very patient with beginners. Sparring can be intimidating for beginners, but Master An has kids sparring against each other who are at the same level, allowing everybody to grow at their own pace in a safe setting. We just completed our second year with Master An, and my son’s confidence and strength has increased every step of the way. But more importantly, he’s learned some very valuable life lessons from Master An about the power of determination.
