My eight year old son is enrolled at Best Academy Taekwondo. Since starting here, the major changes I have seen in him have been positive. He has gained a lot of confidence, now has some self motivation, as well as the development of perseverance within himself. He is enrolled in both the semi-private lessons and small group lessons. Weve been coming here for about 5 months now. Everybody here focuses on being their individual best, not on a scale where everyones graded the same. It really allows each student to grow as an individual, and the care that the family who owns Best Academy Taekwondo, has sort each student enrolled as well as their entire family, something is that I think its hard to describe with words. From the moment that we walked in to talk with them about their program, I felt completely comfortable and excited to allow my son an opportunity to participate in this program. After 5 months I have no complaints, it may be expensive, but seeing the Boost in my child at home, at school, and everywhere in between makes every penny worth it.

We signed up our 4 yr old son just 3.5 months after we adopted him. He was in need of confidence, discipline, and more structure in his life. We also wanted another positive male role model in his life. Just within the first 6 months of our son attending The Best Taekwondo, we have seen great improvement and significant growth in our son. His confidence is really beginning to shine, as is his ability to follow direction. We are so proud and thankful for this program. Master Jeong has incredible patience & a gift in his ability to connect with people. We highly recommend this program!

My Grandson has been studying with Master Jeong for almost three years. He is now in the black belt class. I have watched my Grandson, learn patience and discipline during this time. He is proud of his accomplishments, as are his parents and his grandparents. Master is a wonderful teacher and I am so glad that we found him. One cannot put a price on confidence, fitness, discipline and accomplishment. I am proud that my grandson can be the Best Taekwondo!

My son and I have been taking classes together since January of this year. We were really struggling to connect after some really hard things happened in our lives. However, after joining our relationship has grown leaps and bounds! We are close again for the first time in a long time. Master Jeong and his family have embraced our family as their own. Its an amazing feeling to be apart of something so special. So, whether you and your child need to reconnect or just need some fun in your lives, this is a great place to start a new journey!

Best Taekwondo Academy has been a great experience for my two kids. Self-defense, exercise, discipline, and FUN are emphasized. Master Jeong expects effort and improvement with his students while being patient and accommodating. The entire Jeong family genuinely cares about my kids and my family. I am very happy to have my children attend classes here.

My son has been taking taekwondo lessons from Master Jeong for nearly a year and a half. It has helped tremendously in his confidence and learning to work hard and practice to reach a goal. Master Jeong is a great teacher, very patient with the kids and really cares about all of his students. I would highly recommend this academy.

I cannot say enough good things about Master Jeong and Best TKD Academy. My then 4 yr old son started and I thought, Oh boy, here we go when he didnt follow instructions, spoke out of turn, and goofed off. It was very hard for me to watch him misbehave.. I wanted to get on his case all the time! Master Jeong let me know that he would work with my son, and that I may need to practice patience (not the first time Ive heard that). Fast-forward about 6 months, and my son is a Tiny Tiger orange belt. He sat still for the entire 2 hr ceremony! Not only that, my kiddo has settled down and has been really focusing and trying harder all around. He has memorized his creed, a blocking set, and maintains a clean uniform. My son is more proud, confident, and focused than hed ever have been without this program. I am SO happy I made the choice to enroll him. He is in a small class, the other parents are kind... and it isnt a hassle. Once I had a scheduling conflict and they worked it out with me fairly.Master Jeong has great patience and truly cares about his students. I am positive I will be re-enrolling my son for years to come. Now offered is a Saturday family class, and we (son, dad, me) will be attending.Thank you Master Jeong, I am so impressed and relieved! I feel like my son is getting the attention he deserves and learning invaluable lessons at the same time.

I am pleased to say that I had a long conversation with Master Jeong and I have regained my faith in him. It appears that the company Master Jeong hired is the monster. That said I would like to explain to the person that replied to my post. By the way my name is Emory D. Summers, I was a member of the USAF for over 30 years and as such I lived and traveled all over the world as well as trained all over the world. I have never been treated, or intend to be treated like as poorly as Master Jeong’s agent, ASFIN treated me. Master Jeong was not even aware of the way these people lie, cheat, and steal. Also, to clear something up, I have trained for over 25 years and I have never had this problem anywhere. I hold two Black Belts in two different styles of TKD, and colored belts in many other forms of martial arts. Respect and honor are paramount to me and to the art.I believe now after talking with Master Jeong this situation is repaired as far as I am concerned. I served this country because I love this country and so that means at times it is protecting liars and thieves like ASFIN. It is not a choice it is an honor because only the very best of our population get a chance to serve and stay in the armed forces to retirement and I was lucky enough to do so.The part the gentleman addressed about the Asian culture and the way they treat money is correct but this is not Asia or specifically Korea and if they want to be here then they need to conform to our business laws not theirs. The company that Master Jeong hired does have a clause that states any of the above mentioned situations happen there will be a three month cancelation fee. That includes having to produce a death certificate and pay a three month fee. Master Jeong did not see this and did not know it was being enforced.I know that the posts that went up after mine were to protect the school and Master Jeong and it is admirable that the people that took the time to post did so. Most of you that posted have never trained anywhere but under Master Jeong. Well I have trained under many as a matter of fact. More than I can even remember. But again blind faith is wonderful, because if you haven’t experienced it how can you know and how can you speak about it without talking out of school.I wish Master Jeong all the luck in the world and I would like to train under him again if I am ever well enough to do so. I have a permanent injury and will never train again as far as the doctors are concerned, but I am not going to give up.Good luck to you, Master Jeong and all of your students I wish you all the best!!!!!

Ok, I cant let the last guy come on here, and say 100% negative things about Master Jeong. Was he/she necessarily wrong...no. So heres my experience with this dojang:My wife started TKD in 2008 under Master Jeong and got her black belt 2.5 years later, in 2011 under him. In her opinion, and as far as training went, he was amazing. He pushed her. Her motivated her and quite often, shed seen that he was amazing with kids. Now, as far as the money folks, deep down inside, Master Jeong is 100% Asian businessman. I lived on Okinawa for 2 years, i know what im talking about. Seen them in action many-a-time. Theyre cutthroat. No joke. If you sign a contract, you are 100% committed and they RARELY sway.(not really sure about the dead child clause mentioned earlier). One thing i saw in the 2.5 years my wife trained there, was the extra money for this or that. You regularly pay, something like 130-150 per month. But then theres and extra seminar hell sell you on thats $200. Or a 2 week summer camp for $150. Something. After my wife got her black belt, she took some time off and when she came back, it was either another 3 year commitment for $130 a month, or no contract, for $150 per month. Folks, Im from the south and TKD in the south is about $49-$69 a month, and its hard hitting exercise. Please keep in mind, Master Jeong came to the USA to teach at US West Coast TKD. He split from them in about 2009/2010 to open Best TKD. He took their monetary practices with him. Not sure about the extras at USWC, but the contracts are the same. Im actually on this site because Im shopping for a Dojang myself. USWC and Best were at the top of my shortlists, but the 100+ a month is a HUGE deterrent. Please feel free to comment back or contact me with any experiences yall may have had with TKD in the area. take care. ;)
