My 2 children have had a wonderful experience at Herndon ES, as have I. They attended the French Immersion program and were in the Advanced Math class as well.Their teachers from K through 6th grade have been marvelous, and a powerful influence in their lives. The admin is caring and the office staff is helpful and polite.

Its a great school. The Teachers are very helpful and continuously in communication with parents to ensure their children are on the right educational path. My daughter is a rising 1st grader at Herndon Elementary school and she loves it.

My kids attended and are still attending this school I have a kindergartner starting this year and one that is out the door to middle school. We love this school from the counselor Ms Barnes to the assistant principal Mr Ray Corralus this man would take my son to baseball practice and games on a regular bases because Im a single mom and work always calls, My kids love this school

The teachers there really care about student success. cant wait to send my child there someday!

I find it pretty odd that the people that are saying that this school is subpar are the people that cannot formulate sentences or give examples. Is this one of the best elementary schools no. Are they trying I hope so. But I know unfortunately they have gone down in the rankings lately. But if you are not giving them ways to correct what they are doing wrong it is partially your fault. PS complaining on here is not helping out.

School administration terrible disorganized mess. Continually a focus school meaning it is one of Fairfax Countys failing schools. School district doesnt seem to care and nothing has been done in the last several years about the documented problems. School is failing in math and science and principal actually hired a young kid right of of college, with no teaching degree, no science degree, no math degree, no French degree, and no teaching experience (oh - she had a degree in drama) to teach 2nd graders math and science. Seriously. Gotta wonder why this school and its administration keeps flying under the radar of the school district. Unless the school district doesnt care (which is probably likely).

My 5 year old was assaulted by another kid with a toy knife and I was never notified nor was the child punished . This school is not safe.
