I used to go there, and let me tell you about it from an insider. First if all, the food. I dont know how they passed the health code. It might have changed, but 2013 and before, they would have white spots all over their carrots, and the pizzas would be so greasy that it could soak 5 napkins straight and when you ate them you r whole wrist would be greasy. Second of all, the professional-ness. It was just awful, and the fact that the cafeteria doubled as the auditorium is awful!!! Also, the music department is not very advanced, and the lessons arent either. Also, their history lessons are very biased and when you learn about the American revolution you dont get to see the British side, just that Americans had tax. Overall, the teachers are OK (but dont notice bullying), but the school itself is not very good compared to different schools. I would not recommend you to go there.

This school was terrible. I went there for two years and the teachers were absolute rubbish. Not only that, there is a lot of profanity. It is highly unsanitary and the food there is old and moldy. The teachers never do their jobs there either.When I went there, I went through a series of bullying resulting in me getting depression. It is gone now that I left though. The good teachers end up getting fired or quitting due to the principal.

I had only one concern for my Kid and at the beginning of the school year I discussed the teacher about that and at the end of the school the teacher updates me that your kid has only one concern that you also aware of. WHAT!! then why didnt you work on it?? WHY DID YOU NOT TELL ME BEFORE????????The Teacher is very mean. Whatever we say she takes it personally and ego hurts very badly. If my kid was absent and could not get the info and you ask for that then the Class Teacher will first make you feel as if you are irresponsible and then will send the info. HOW BAD.. We feel everytime awkward talking to the teacher. For any this and everything they make you feel as if your kid did some crime.Bullying is definitely there. Kids make fun of other kids for their name and cloth. THERE SHOULD DEFINITELY be SOME DRESS CODE FOR THE SCHOOL.PRINCIPLE is a DIVA a big superstar. She does not manage anything properly. never shows up in important events. She is making the school terrible. No information will reach to you on time. You got to know about many event just in the evening before the day of event.The front office staff should be fired. They are all rude and never greet anyone. Do not communicate anything properly. Make fun of the parents the moment the parent left the office.

Excellent, Excellent and Excellent school!! Thats all I can say about this school. Great teachers and awesome PTA. My kids have been in this school for 4 years now.

The worst school whew do not get me started on the food ugh the principal is really mean there please if you are moving to Herndon please do not go there PLEASE!Do not eat the food. I am lucky i moved away i have been their my since Kindergarden. You get bullied there every day.by the way this post is to 2017 -2018 folks peace

Boo! Hiss! One teacher there had made many students feel very bad and unwelcome. She was biased and was really harsh,cruel and mean. Rachel Carson is much better. I am so glad I am not here anymore

This school is very nice, the staff and other aspects are nice. The cafeteria food is not very nice though but the kids here are very friendly and respectful. I believe it is better than Floris and Coates. Coates is filled with troublemakers.

The administration was just terrible, from a students perspective I got sent to the office for no reason and the admins denied it completely. And I was bullied by this kid, I only punched his face and he punched me in the stomach multiple times and pushed me multiple times. Was the bully punished? No, but I got punished instead of the bully and I had a mini-school suspension. And the teachers, there were good ones, but most of them were godawful. If you live near this school, dont let your kid go to it. Floris is a lot better than this school and wont take long to drive to either.

Me, as a sixth upcoming sixth grader 2017-2018 Love it there. I mean Mrs.Perri is the News Team Leader Shes nice! Mr. Matthews, leader of safety Patrol is Awesome! I mean I am a seargent this year!!! McNair ES Rocks! Just as it says McNair Runs With The Best! gooooo mcnair!!

This school is horrible like one time i was just eating my lunch and a person was thretning me to give him some milk and i didnt even know him.Our teacher is drinking way to much drinks in the classroom and she dosent even go walk to do something she only ask a student to get it for her or keep it back and one time i was reading the persons who sits next to me book and she asked whos book it was i said it was my neighbors then after 5 hours she says im in trouble and she always makes come so late dureing recess and says its our fault

Great staff and great facilities. Very active PTA. One of the best in Fairfax county.

Teaching methodology and the staff is good but the Kiss & ride facility is not that good..it is not free flowing and takes a while for us to drop and pick the kids..

THIS SCHOOL NEEDS BETTER FOOD. AND THE RECESS IS TOO SHORT.

Bad school loads of bullying, fighting, negativity, profanity,sexual harrasment,and most of all immaturity.Also two dumb kids tried to light one of the outdoor girls bathroom on fire. So just dont go to this school and go to county Christian school trust me its a heck of a lot better school there is loads of other reasons why I dont like this school but one thing go to county Christian school its a lot more fun, a heck of a lot better education and more options it goes up to 8th grade come on we need more people at CCS theres not a lot of people there anyways #CCSisbetterthanmcnair FYI CCS has 5 stars and this one only 4 and a half

A little crowded but the school provides kids with lots of opportunities and ways to learn. The school also encourages parent participation.

Horrible.The worst is the new principal Melissa Gooden. She is a vile, evil lady and she gossips, lies and is just plainly rude to both parents and students.The schools downfall was making her principal.Admin ladies, have no care for their job and just plainly hang up on you or tell you off for no reason if they feel like it.They made my child beg for home school.Check Google reviews, etc and you will understand what I mean.

There really isnt anything I can say that is good about this school. Students are getting passed along into the next grade level when they are academically not ready, special education needs are not addressed unless a parent knows their rights, inadequate IEP testing done with no one monitoring the testing process, principal not taking into consideration the parents request to retain their child in the same grade even when that child is not academically ready for the next grade level. Principal states, SHE is not an advocate of retaining children. My childs SOL scores were Fail/Basic for reading, Fail/Below basic for mathematics, in addition other reading testing scores showing her 2 grade levels behind but the principal refused to retain her and pushed her into the next grade of 4th grade. Parents wonder why students are in high school and cant read? Its shameful. It seems all a child needs to do in elementary school is show up, no worries parents, your child will get pushed along to the next grade level. No wonder parents are moving out of Fairfax county school districts.

Great school , great teachers and very nice environment.

Played soccer on their fields and had a great time although the field is very bumpy. I dont have children that go to school here.
