One of my goals as a parent is to raise my children to be kind people.  When I met Ms. Sangeet and Mrs. Cheng 3 years ago, I instantly knew this was a place that would nurture that.  Not only are they amazing educators, they are just wonderful people. They run the school with so much love and kindness and always put the children first.  They have an incredible group of educators that share that approach and have truly developed a strong parent involved community. I was blessed with another child this past year and cant imagine sending her anywhere else.

My daughter graduated kindergarten and my youngest is in pre-k and will be entering kindergarten next fall at MPS. Im not sure I can articulate how much I appreciate this wonderful school. The rooms are naturally bright and filled to the brim with books and educational toys. The teachers are warm and cant hide their love for the children they guide. Activities are well-thought out and combine numerous disciplines. Under normal circumstances, the school has numerous activities that fostered a community of parents and children which unfortunately has been dialed back due to covid, however Id expect these to return with vaccination rates rising. The school adopted virtual field trips this year, with kids stamping their plane/train/bus tickets to locales both near and far. These are the kind of creative activities these dedicated teachers developed and it is so much fun to hear about these adventures!

Our Bella spent 4 glorious years at Montessori Peace School. We were so blessed to find this hidden gem. These very special teachers and aides surrounded Bella with love and support and gave her an environment to grow and learn. We experienced an atmosphere where each student showed love and kindness for each other. I would give 10 stars if they were available!

Parents are very engaged and the children focus on kindness and empathy. We are so thankful to have such a nurturing place for our children!

Warm, nurturing, and kind environment. The teachers and administration are so involved, and are genuinely supportive of your childs development and education. I could not be more pleased with our years of experiences with MPS. Theyre the best help in raising empathetic, gentle, smart, and well-rounded kiddos.

Montessori Peace School has been a great find for us. Two out of three have gone here and I wish my oldest had been able to go as well. Its a true montessori, providing a peaceful and calm environment. The kids do yoga, celebrate holidays from around the world, learn about virtues and empathy. My kids have thrived here. I highly recommend.

The moment you walk into this school and meet the teachers, you will feel the warmth and genuity.I have seen with my own daughter (who graduated 3 years ago) and other alumnis, still resonate all the teachings that were instilled in them from this school.I wish there were more teachers like this everywhere. The teachers here teach the kids to accept everyone for who they are, to be kind and help the kids to gravitate towards independence. The way they teach kids how to read is very effective as well.Every member of this school are so loving towards your child. The whole staff here are truly special and trusting. Sometimes, I feel they are raising my kids better than me.I have 3 kids, one who has already graduated and 2 others who are still attending. The staff here does not treat each kid the same, but to each kids needs and aptitude.I highly recommend this school or at the very least a visit. It wont be a waste of your time.

My children have been at MPS since 2016 and it has been an amazing environment where their interests have flourished. My oldest is graduating and his reading skills and interest in geography and other cultures have lead us to have many in-depth conversations. My younger son is an art lover and frequently makes paintings for me. It is a very nurturing school with teachers that treat us and the kids like family.

I toured almost all montessori schools in Herndon and Reston and saved MPS for last because honestly, based on the few reviews and picture online, I was apprehensive about sending my children there. To be honest, each time I toured the more expensive montessori schools in the area, I left thinking this is the one but that was really based on the aesthetics of the building and classrooms (based on what I could see during the short tour). However, there was always something that didnt sit right with me...like how quiet the students were (very military like setting), how the teachers didnt even engage or make eye contact with me, how I was pressured to sign the contract before leaving, etc. I knew that whatever school I would send my children to, it had to be a place I was 100% comfortable with right away (follow your instincts) and didnt have an ounce of uncertainty. After a couple of weeks of back-to-back tours, I finally had my tour at MPS. I drove onto the gravel parking lot and looked at the old white house thinking...it should be a quick tour and then Ill be done with it. However, it turns out that I saved the best for last! As soon as I stepped into the building, I was enveloped with a feeling of love, peace, acceptance, happiness, etc. I was ready to sign the contract even before meeting the teachers and students that were so excited to show me (a stranger) their work. I knew what I felt was what I wanted my children to feel every day they went to school. My only concern was transitioning them from a traditional daycare (that they never adjusted to) to a new school. However, within the first week, my children (20 months at the time) stopped crying at drop-offs and walked in all by themselves barely saying bye to me. That was confirmation that I made the right choice!

Ms. Sangeet, Ms. Sunder and Ms. Kates passion for the school really emanates to her staff. They really drive home that keyword Peace, in every parents minds for sure. You could rest assured that the staff here genuinely cares for your child and that they are not just a number, and could be trusted with utmost confidence. When it comes times to graduate, we will sincerely miss everybody here because of the impact they all had on my childrens upbringing, they all played a vital role in the person they are today. Words cannot really express how we feel about this school and all that they have done to help them. So please attend an openhouse and experience for yourself what they can contribute to your childs future. You will be pleasantly surprised.

MPS is a unique pearl and treasure in the DC area. We only moved to Reston a year ago and I feel very lucky to have found this Montessori preschool with yoga, music and amazing teachers. It is like the extension of our family, where the children learn the most important human values. Our children love to go there every day. Thank you so much Montessori Peace School for this wonderful experience❤️

My daughter just graduated from the Montessori Peace School. Morgan went there for 3 years. She would come home each day so happy and proud. Proud when she read her first book; proud when she started writing in a journal; proud she could help grow vegetables in the school garden; and really proud when she could help a younger child in her class with work she once struggled in too. What makes this program different than any other program is Mrs. Cheng and Ms. Sangeets vision of creating a community of global citizens. My children come feeling like they just took a trip to Jane Goodalls sanctuary in Tanzania or China to learn about Qigong. This early childhood experience is priceless and we are so lucky it is in the heart of downtown Herndon.

Three of our children have had the opportunity to attend this little gem of a school. It is a true Mintessori school, staffed by loving and talented teachers. When you walk in the door, you can feel the peaceful learning environment and watch as the children go about their work with such a sense of purpose and and happiness. We feel so fortunate to have such a wonderful school in our little town, and are grateful for the friendships and sense of community that it has helped us to build.

All of our three children attended Montessori Peace School and it was an experience to be treasured. This is the school where you as a parent truly feel a part of the greater MPS family, you know your children are surrounded with love and are taught not only the academic curriculum but also much about emotional intelligence, conflict resolution, cross-cultural awareness, unity, diversity and inclusion. We moved from the area four years ago, my oldest is starting middle school now and the youngest is a first grader but all three of them often say that they want to go back to Virginia and visit their school and how much they miss it. Montissori Peace School is a very nurturing, yet orderly and well structured way to ease the children into the world of learning. The owners, who also teach, are most gracious, wise, loving and greatly experienced educators who put their hearts and lives into MPS.

My wife and I researched the Montessori preschools in this area of Northern Virginia (Herndon, Reston, Sterling). MPS was far and beyond the best of those we visited.I remember walking into sunlit big room and thinking, This place has a special feeling to it. It is a home, filled with love and light, not a storefront location with a retail feel to it.The proprietors know their craft well and have been doing it for some time. Our daughter started in their first pre-primary class and is graduating Kindergarten this year. The amount of growth she has made is tremendous...Im actually worried that she will be too bored in her first grade classroom. In terms of pricing, the tuition is in line with other Montessori preschools in the area. Nothing shocking, thankfully, and the rates have stayed relative to the cost of living in the area. The only downside to his place was the gravel parking lot, but that has now been paved.
