Happy with a school, we started before pandemic in 09/19 and were glad to return after reopening. This is a true Montessori school with processes and resources in line with approach. Moreover, teachers are very experienced and stay with a school for a long time. I noticed some also practicing emotional intelligence and elements of RIE, which is important for our family.

I had my 1yr old here before covid and our experience was HORRIBLE! On his first day, he was obviously upset and I was waiting to leave to see if one of the teachers would try to comfort him. Instead they told me I could leave and he would be fine. That was a little red flag to me but I tried not to think too much on it. A week later I picked up my son and he has scratches and some bruising all on his face (I still have pictures of his face that I can show with dates) and I asked the teacher what happened to my sons face and she replied saying well he threw a tantrum outside at the playground (there is trees surrounding the playground and there are lots of tiny twigs on the floor) and said he was throwing himself on the floor and it’s the “Montessori way” to let the child calm themselves. I replied saying “So after seeing there are twigs on the floor, you decided to let my son throw his tantrum in an unsafe area”? And she responded “you are more than welcome to watch the tapes, we tried picking him up but he didn’t let us”. Mind you, they are supposed to call you if there is any incident involving your child. No matter how small or big and I didn’t receive any sort of notification that day. I got off work at 5:55pm to get there at 6 just before the closed. Do NOT bring your children here. They are beyond rude and do not have the patience that toddlers need.

The small class sizes, loving and professional teachers and staff, and comfort of knowing our children are safe make Clear Lake Montessori the best decision we could have made for our family. Highly recommended!

Well I have decided to write a review not only as a previous employee but as a parent to a child that attended the school. My child started the elementary program here at the school with the new teacher. This was a huge mistake... he was new to Montessori and it is a pretty different learning style and my son was already in a sensitive stage as I was getting ready to have a new baby. I asked his teacher (April) how he was doing/ adjusting and her response was “honestly he makes my days unbearable” now as a mother I was very mad at hearing these words about my son but as an employee (I was the lead infant teacher currently doing my Montessori training) there I knew I needed to keep my cool. Next while I was on maternity leave Tracia (the director) called and requested I picked up my son immediately so I naturally I ask what’s wrong? Is everything ok? She responded I don’t know I was just asked to have you pick him up. So my husband and I go to the school to pick him up but before we do we watched the cameras. We sat for probably 2-2.5 hours and my child was straight up ignored! He would be sitting on his rug and get up to go to April (the teacher!) a question and immediately she would just point back to his rug and wouldn’t speak to him/offer help. So he went back to his rug and sat there confused. My husband wanted to go confront her at that point but again I work there so let’s not make a scene. Next they were to put there work away and join a group lesson with Greta the other teacher. My son was the last one to the circle and there was no space for him to sit so he stood behind the kids looking for a spot to sit and 2 of the 5 other kids would put their hand down on the floor to prevent my son from sitting when my son tried to sit down. Rather than helping my son to sit Greta acts as if she doesn’t see him. (We have videos of the recordings because he was so mad he recorded with his phone. I will gladly share these incidents!!!) So now my husband is even more angry that the teacher wouldn’t make sure he was able to sit for the group lesson. Anyways, after sitting there watching,my husband had enough so we went and got my son and took him home. Long story short we took my son and enrolled him back into public school and he is so much happier and doing great! Anyways so the time comes for me to return back to work from maternity leave. So they call me in to talk about my schedule.. they offered me a part time assistant position working only 3 hours in the afternoon (2-5pm) when I was the lead teacher working full time 7:30-4:30.They basically wanted me to quit (this was after them pushing me to take an intensive training that cost me $7000, I had to take off of work for 2.5. Months unpaid and drive all the way to Katy at 5:30am then back home at 6pm). and I know this bc the first thing out of the owners mouth was “Oh, you took your son out of the school?” I ended up leaving and am so glad I did. I miss the kids like crazy still.. but these people are running a circus not a school. Do yourself and you child a favor and find another school

Great montessori school with new owners. They have put up a brand new playground and hiring new teachers. The new owners are of Asian origin and they treat the facility as their home. The smallest requests are met quickly such as a shade at the entryway. Their director is also a very nice person and easy to work with. Ms. Chandler in after school is very dedicated and loves all the kids. Highly recommend this school.

I JUST called to inquire about what programs would be available for my 15 month old son. The woman on the phone gave me such a hard time about just letting me know the price it would be. It would be out of my way to go take a SCHEDULED tour of this facility (the only option she gave me does NOT fit in my schedule) and apparently that’s the ONLY way I can get quoted a price. Off the back this made me extremely skeptical because who knows how they will be if anything were to ever happen to my son if he attended there. They can’t even be straight forward with you on the phone. If this place is GREAT and others have had good experiences, that’s awesome. But I am a very STRAIGHT FORWARD person so this procedure they have did not feel right to me. Was I supposed to go tour first so they can judge me and then give me a price? It really feels that’s what it seems like. I’m going with my gut feeling and not trusting this place. Maybe if they had better procedures for quoting over the phone they would make a good first impression on potential clients.

My 10 month old was graciously accepted at Clear Lake Montessori temporarily while our regular school was being repaired from hurricane Harvey damage. The staff was brilliant. Even though we were only there for a short time, everyone knew our daughters name. The teachers in the infant room were just so kind, calm, and soothing. I was a little nervous bringing our daughter to a new place, but the sweet sweet teachers put me completely at ease. On our last day, the teachers left us a sweet note that I will save for my daughters memory book. The class sizes are small. The teachers are experienced and well trained. Its a lovely place that we wont soon forget :)

Our son has been attending Clear Lake Montessori since he was 5 mo. old, and we continue to be delighted by his experience over the past 1.5 years. The thing we value most at Clear Lake Montessori are small class sizes, great lesson plans, and caring teachers. I especially like that the teachers involve the parents in the lesson plans so that learning can continue at home.

My daughter attended this school from 3 months to 13 months. We only switched her because we moved further away, but she loved it there and I wish she could have stayed! They are a true Montessori school associated with AMS. The size of the classroom for Newborn-18 months old is at least twice as big everywhere else we looked which was a huge plus. There is no question that the teachers in the baby room truly care about the children (I can only really speak to those teachers in particular because my daughter didnt move to a different classroom before she switched). The new owners are taking active steps to improve the school and it really shows. In just the 9 months my child attended they: extended the playground area as well as building a large deck, fenced in the main walkway to make it safer for the children, added a covered awning to the main entrance, added shelving/low walls in the baby area to separate the play area from the sleeping area, and built a small set of steps for toddlers to practice on. The only two things I wasnt a big fan of were that the menu was the same every week, and the age range in the baby room meant that for a little while none of the other kids in her class (besides one) were able to walk and appropriately interact with her. I was surprised how affordable it was, especially considering how much they put into it. Other places Ive been it feels like a corporate money grab, but these owners are there every day and are very active/responsive to suggestions and input. It really is a great place!

My daughter has been going here for about 9 months. The teachers in her class, Ms.Farida and Ms.Heidi are awesome. She has learned a lot in the time that she has been here. They are very knowledgeable and experienced teachers with a lot of patience. They have made my daughters transition to preschool very easy. I would recommend this school to anyone.

I went for a tour. I was not impressed much. I went for a tour in June 2014, but it seems a little unsanitary in my opinion. Maybe they might change as they have submitted to get certified in the Montessori School System.
