I was only able to attend one class since I live out of town, but Tony and his family run a great class and I felt safe, welcome, and smarter and more dangerous than before the class. Thanks!

This place and the people there taught me how to exercise, be fit and hold my head up high with confidence. I was never much of an athlete and never had a lot of confidence around athletics and never knew how to work out. Now some of my best friends are my gym partners. Urban Jungle is a wonderful environment that truly changed my life in a way I did not expect. The teachers there are amazing people and masterful in their ability to teach. Im proud to call this place home and the people there family.

Fantastic training center all around, very welcoming - Top tier JiuJitsu and Fitness. If youre looking to get fit and learn self-Defense/fighting look no further.I came to Tony and Michelle looking to learn basic martial arts with zero prior experience and Ive now been with them for more than 3 years and will continue to do so as long as Im in Houston. Not only have I gained a better knowledge of fighting, but Ive also gained tons of friends and a group of people that push me to improve every single day.Do yourself a favor and sign up for their trial classes, you wont regret it.

I’ve been attending Urban Jungle for 4 years now and I can honestly say I’m happy to call it home. I’ve been practicing JiuJitsu for about 10 years and have been to several gyms and I felt right at home once I started at Urban.Tony and Michelle are fantastic owners and Tony is one of the most knowledgeable instructors I’ve ever seen. I learn something new every week and it’s always challenging. Also I lost 30 pounds so that’s a plus.I don’t have children but I’ve been there enough to see countless kids classes. They are always patient and kind to the children. In fact some of the kids that are graduating into the adult classes have so much technique it’s impressive and has me worried that they’ll soon be able to beat me.If you’re on the fence about JiuJitsu, come in and give it a try. You won’t regret it no matter your age.

This is it. Looking any further is a waste of time. I trained here almost everyday for a full year. The instructors are some of the best in the world, literally, the best. Their price is bargain basement, but their offer is priceless. What I learned here has given me a peace of mind that has literally struck fear into the hearts of my opponents, whether street criminals or in the ring. Pay attention here, and what you will gain will be worth more than a single person can repay. Tony is a kind man, his instructors are just as kind.If youre looking for safety and peace of mind, then your place is here. I wish I could put into words what the instructors here taught me. I will not ever be scared again. This place is not worth every penny, it is worth mountains of gold. Not because of the service(s) rendered, but on the knowledge Tony will give you on its own. I hope you can understand. This place brought me something no-one and nothing else could. This place brought me peace.

All of the instructors (especially Jessie) are super cool and knowledgeable. I could honestly go on and on and on but my advice is get in this gym ASAP because you wont regret it!!

Ive traveled to many different gyms over my 12 years of jiu jitsu experience and I can truly say Urban Jungle is my home. Tony is truly a master of jiu jitsu and more importantly to that an amazing person and mentor to many. When it comes to the friendly atmosphere, high skill level of the students, and coaching provided Urban Jungle is second to none.

From a 30k foot perspective and not to get in the nitty-gritty, Urban Jungle is mediocre at best in jiu-Jitsu. I’ve trained for awhile and the jiujitsu taught is not geared towards competition jiujitsu by no means. Extremely family oriented based for folks he wants to get in shape and focus on health. If you’re looking to advance your Jui-jitsu at a high caliber, I would not recommend. Self-defense/fitness, sure. By no means a competitive gym.Not to mention - the photos are extremely out of date and is not representative of their facility.

Excellent gym! Great group of training partners and instruction. I have taken jiu jitsu at Urban Jungle for six years and kardio kickboxing the past two years. Tony and Michelle are super knowledgeable and genuinely care about their members. The black belts - Aaron, Jesse, Alex, and Jerome - are excellent teachers. The focus on in the street techniques gives confidence to handle whatever situation one may be confronted with. Michelle pushes hard in kardio, drawing out of you what you were not sure was there! No need to look any further...

Ive known Tony since we were in the second grade together. He has always been a fighter. I recommend his school of MMA mainly because here is a person who has spent his whole entire life following his passion and to find someone like that who dedicates himself along with his equally dedicated wife to that passion is a very rare thing indeed. He is Houstons BJJ Teacher. Period!

Ive trained at the Jungle since 2000. Earned a brown belt in BJJ and gotten to train with Royce Gracie during seminars. I mostly go to MMA class these days cause I get to do it all there and train with cage bound fighters. Tony and Michelle are great people. The atmosphere is laid-back which is probably the main reason I felt comfortable starting 16 years ago. If youre looking for solid Brazilian jiujitsu instruction or great MMA training then look no further. Tony might train you for your cage fight if youre willing to put in what it takes. Ive seen wimpy kids grow into confident adults, and bullied kids turn the tables.

Ive been there for a few years now, mainly training Jiu-jitsu. Tony, the BJJ instructor at Urban Jungle, teaches classes with a great sense of balance between drilling and rolling. Hes always bringing new insight to even the most common techniques with the little details that seem to make eureka moments happen on the mat constantly as you learn. Oh! Thats how thats supposed to work, or thats why that wasnt quite working the way Ive been doing it, kinda thing. Plus its 50/50 Gi/No Gi training, which is excellent for developing self-defense jiujitsu, not just the sport stuff. Theres also the all-important element of the other guys training there. Its not the fight club crowd. Theyre tough guys, but you can tell most of the guys at the gym dont have anything to prove to anyone. The style there is technique and leverage, not brute force, which helps you train longer without injuries. In the long run, that counts more than tapping guys anyway. IMO

The experience of trying to book an intro class for my kids was so frustrating that I can’t even rate the school based on what happened in class. I can only base it on how poorly they handle people trying to sign up for classes. The worst experience I have had trying to get my kids signed up for something.
