This center is very enriching for children and we trust them to care for our child. They have fun, educational activities, and my child has learned so much by sending her here. They care about their families and have good communication.

The Childhood Center is a wonderful place. Both of my children go there. The hours are amazing for working professionals who have long days. The teachers really care about the children and infants. The Childhood Center works with new moms regarding feeding and nap schedules. The teachers expose infants to reading, songs, touch and play activities and “arts and crafts.” Its very cute. They use an app that coordinates with parents so parents know what their infant is doing throughout the day. The older the child gets; the Childhood Center teaches them so much through STEM. My child knew his letters, numbers and even was adding and subtracting shortly after turning two. His teachers encourage STEM activities and dual language English and Spanish. Both of my children are happy and thriving at the Childhood Center. The building is a renovated shopping center, a little different, but it works perfectly during COVID as we were still able to drop off our children right at their class room door. The Childhood Center did an amazing job by complying with all the Covid restrictions and remained open during most of 2020, while other schools closed. Although the playground is small, I take comfort in the fact that the teachers are arms lengths away from the children, especially small toddlers. All the children still have tons of fun playing outside and even do water activities during the summer. The Childhood Center has been such a great experience and I couldn’t recommend this place enough.

Please take a moment to see other concerned parents reviews. If your child is already enrolled, Id sincerely suggest getting your children out of there. Our daughter got a horrible diaper rash after just three weeks of being here. They do have a policy stating a diaper change every two hours, so we sent our 7 month old in with enough diapers for the week based on our schedule, and were sent home with almost half of them. My wife also witnessed the staff telling others that a parent had pulled into the parking lot and then quickly changing the child’s diaper before the parent came in.When my wife raised concerns about the changing practices and the diaper rash, she verbally assaulted my wife and threatened to call CPS on us claiming she has called CPS on multiple parents at her facility. Also note that this is a heavy traffic area. We noted children were allowed to play on broken playground equipment, where the only cautionary measure is an orange traffic cone put somewhere on the broken equipment to keep children on.

I absolutely loved the Childhood Center, the staff, the director, and the owner. My little girl was 4 years old when enrolled. The classroom was big and organized. The teacher was amazing. My girl loved it there, and developed a close, loving relationship with the staff. The graduation ceremony for the kids moving on to Kindergarten was amazing, and the Childhood center event took photos of the kids in cap and gowns for the parents. Its the well thought ideas and gestures like this that made our time there so memorable. Their operations are aligned with other childcare facilities, and rules are clearly communicated. Communication was always good, and the schools standards operations were clearly laid out. Its too bad I moved across town because I would have LOVED to have my second child attend the Childhood Center. My daughter still talks about the staff, and we have nothing but fond memories.

The owner shows her true colors in the comment she just posted regarding my husband and I trying to extort money from her It is sad when someone is in business, let alone one that is around children who is only concerned with money, and the customers experience means nothing. In our meeting I stated that I would like to ask that we get a prorated amount for the remainder of the month as we stopped using their services after 3 weeks due to the lack of attention our daughter was receiving and the behaviors of the staff that I witnessed during our short tenure there since we had paid for the full month. After the owner came at me very aggressively, cutting me off, and being extremely abrasive instead of taking any of my concerns as being valid, I informed her that I was happy to post about our experiences, and inform people of what has happened while my daughter was here, to which she threatened to take me to court if I did post anything on account of slander. I would encourage her to share the audio recording she felt the need to take during our conversation so you can hear how she talks to a parent who brings forth many valid concerns. If she ever did, you would find that she is a very emotional, unstable woman who should not be around children or own a business.Obscenities being screamed were me telling her staff that she was a b***h and I didnt know how they could work with her. I made sure no children were present, my voice was not raised, and was simply informing them of their employers behavior as she consistently cut me off during our conversation, raised her voice several times at me, and had no human decency towards a very unsatisfied customer at her business. She began several times to try and shame me for how I handled my daughter, a common sign of unstable people who feel the need to deflect. In direct violation of their handbook, my daughter was put to bed in her crib with her cold, wet bib.UPDATE: I called CPS and informed them of what was going on at this location. The owner had me served at work to stop writing about my experience. If I wrote about all the things I was told happen at this daycare, you would never bring your child here, but hopefully knowing what the owner did alone will help you make the right decision for your child.

I have two children, 3 y.o. and 1 y.o., enrolled here at the West Alabama location. They have both been here since they were four months old. Overall, we have been very pleased with the school. Our family has built many relationships with the teachers and staff over the years. The teachers have always been so loving of my children (despite their separation anxiety, refusing to drink bottles, lack of napping skills...my sweet, challenging babies). Several teachers have been there since both kids were babes including both Ms. Ashleys, Ms. Tamika, and Ms. Jessie. As a professional educator, the relationship aspect is very important to me because learning and development cannot occur without a safe and secure environment. Even teachers that have moved onto to other places are still discussed and remembered by my eldest. The administrative staff has been equally as caring towards our family. The kids are engaged in a variety of activities throughout the day to support age-appropriate development, in addition to lots of PLAY time in centers (my sons fave). The teachers work really hard to plan lots of fun, creative activities. They bring in music teachers, Jump Bunch, Soccer Shots...theres never nothing going on!I dont want to seem unrealistic in that its perfect (nothing is), but we feel that the owners and staff have the best intent and efforts. We are very happy that we were able to have a long-term solution for childcare at TCC!

I will definitely avoid this daycare. Especially after actually reading reviews and talking to parents who have sent their kids there. Its even worse to see the owner, Director or whoever she is, commenting on every bad review. A review doesnt need a rebuttal. Its what we think of your business, how we feel and what we see. Its for everyone to make their own opinion. The people running this center are more than likely just looking to take your money and could care less how your kids are cared for. We can do better than this.

This is a great daycare for my son to go to! I have been searching high and low for a daycare that will give me the this is it feeling and The Childhood Center is the one. The teachers there are very caring, friendly and full of energy. The facility is always clean and everything is very organized. I love the way the teachers interact with the children, toddlers and even babies! They provide many teaching moments for them through kind words and patient guidance.I would say that they have a challenging core curriculum, it is definitely more than what I could accomplish on my own. Fortunately, the small class sizes and the great teacher to child ratio compensates for that. Most important is that my son loves going to the childhood center. Since has been going he has been using more words and has improved his social skills. Plus the staff is friendly and always willing to give me updates on my childs progress!

My child has been here since the age of 2 months. His first language is Spanish, but while attending the school, he learned a ton of English. All of the lead teachers are working on their Child Development Associates. They are warm and welcoming to my child every morning and evening. I am really happy with the ratios and curriculum. My eldest child was well prepared to attend Kindergarten.

Get out of there. My daughter was delayed in walking and had to stay in younger room. The owner Ann Marie made heart breaking statement that why your daughter not walking by 1?! Shes got problem! We had to accommodate you all to have her and take up one spot! How sad to hear such statement as a mother. You think my daughter did not want to walk like any other kids?!She herself is a mother and a stepmother, but that devastating statement made me change complete view of her, as a cold-hearted daycare business woman. My daughter, was later found needing chemotherapy. May God watch her tongue to not hurt any more children and families.

I did a lot of research before I sent my kids to the Childhood center. I needed a place I can trust, and that values my child’s development as much as I do. This place is just the best center in this area - period. When I met the owner on the initial tour, I really felt that she understood how important it is for me to have my infants exposed to a well-rounded curriculum of experiences, including art, play and appropriate literature. The other reason I chose this facility over the other ones in the area, is that I really like how homey and comfortable it feels. It is not as ‘corporate’ as some of the franchises – this is a well-run center that you can see the owners have a lot of heart & passion about. And the staff’s customer service is just incredible. They will bend over backwards to accommodate the specific needs of a customer, and that is just hard to find these day in this economy, where everything seems to be measured in dollars instead of fulfillment and happiness.Benefit from my research, and enroll your children at the childhood center. You won’t regret it.

UPDATE: Someone just posted that they were disappointed that I reviewed the Childhood Center and was listed as an employee. I do work for the Childhood Center. My children are now in elementary school and the review that I wrote was long before I worked for them. Even then, I stand by the review that I wrote years ago and my children still attend in the summer. It was an honest review at the time I was a client, and in the later years that Ive spent working there, gaining a better view of the inner workings, my opinion has only improved. This is a great place full of people who genuinely care about what they are doing. My kids are the most important thing to me, and I continue to trust the teachers at The Childhood Center to care for them when I cannot! My original review:The Childhood Center is amazing! My daughter has been there since they opened almost two years ago and they treat us like family. When my son was born we didnt hesitate to enroll him when I went back to work. They keep super low teacher-student ratios and both kids have gotten all the individual attention they need to thrive. Its the best care they could get other than being home with their parents. The staff at the Center is helpful, kind and caring. They have become very involved in potty training my daughter recently and it is wonderful to have their help and support. It takes forever to get my kids out of there each night. One or both will stop in each room and make sure they get hugs and goodbyes from anyone they see. I feel confident in the level of care my kids receive there and appreciate the hard work of the staff in helping my kids grow and develop while Im at work. I love the summer fun days - petting zoo, the bug bus, splash days. I also love the extra activities like dance class. I dont have to take my daughter somewhere else since she is getting dance class right there.

I looked at about 40 other daycare centers before finalizing on childhood center. And they have lived up to my expectations and more when it comes my childs care. I like the interest they take individual development of each kid. Best compliment I could give is my son loves to go there, everyday it is getting hard for me to get him come out of the school. It takes about 10 min for us to come to the car.

My daughter has been at the Childhood Center for about 10 months now and her development has skyrocketed! She never cries when we leave her (and she DOES cry if we leave her with babysitters) and when we show up, shes always happy and calm! The teachers seem to have a genuine interest in the kids, and knowing that my child looks forward to going to school everyday is worth more than any tuition fee for me. Would DEFINITELY recommend to any parent!

My son attended the school for 2 years and it was fine. Just don’t have any expectations that it is more than a daycare. A downfall was the revolving door of teachers. Some of the teachers were fantastic but they never stuck around very long and others were sub par. The location is great but I found management to be poorly organized and not very flexible with various children’s needs.

My son has been at the Childhood Center his whole life -- 2 years. The teachers have always treated him kindly and he usually has no problem being dropped off in the morning. He actually clings to some of his teachers. This means a lot to me because it shows that he is comfortable being there. The only time I didnt like dropping him off was when he was starting to walk. He wouldnt stop for anybody and end up falling often. However, this is a generic concern for all parents. The center often updated me if he bumped his head or if he had any incidents in class. One time my wife didnt like that a plug was semi-exposed in one of the day-care rooms which connected to a small refrigerator. When we told the owner, they liked that we provided feedback and fixed it that day without question. We’ve had a good experience at this day-care.

I have never attended this daycare, but in searching for a place to take my son, I’m extremely disappointed to see a review from Angie Zacharias, who is listed as the Director of Organizational Development on this center’s website. My daughter attended The Childhood Center for almost 2 years - we loved our time there. We only recently switched schools because our jobs were in the area and the commute from our home was too long. We even talked about moving to be closer to the school! We had multiple times where we would pick-up our daughter and she would say, I love my class. Ann Marie & David are wonderfully supportive and always available if you need anything. Each of our daughters teachers greeter her each day with a hug, and we were able to go off to work knowing our daughter was in a loving environment and getting a great education. She regularly surprised us with the things she would learn at school - far beyond our expectations. I would absolutely recommend The Childhood Center.

Both of my boys, Ethan (5) and Evan (2) attend the Childhood center. Ethan has attended the Childhood Center since he was six months old. The only reason we are leaving next month is the commute and that Ethan will be starting kindergarten in August. The teachers are kind and thoughtful. Both of my boys were resistant to potty training and the teachers helped us transition them to using the potty within days of starting to train them. both of my boys adore Mr. David and will miss him dearly. His daily high-fives are the highlight of their day. The administration, especially Ms. Alex and Ms. Dora, have been lifelines for my family and are always willing to assist in any manner. I am grateful for our time and experience with the facility.

My experience with the daycare was just over the phone, but the unprofessionalism of the person who answered the phone and the second person who answered the phone was enough to make me write a review. I called in asking if there were any available spots in their daycare for my childs age group. I was then placed on hold for about 4 minute (which feels like forever on the phone). The same person came back on the phone and told me that she couldnt give me that information because there may or may not be a spot, but she can tell me for sure once I come in for a tour. I agreed and attempted to schedule a tour. At that time they placed me back on hold for another 2 minutes and a different person picked up the phone. This person sounded much more knowledgeable but also told me she could not give me any information. So the only available tour time was at 10am Monday - Friday... in case they didnt realize... I need a daycare because I work full time and cannot take time off for a tour for a daycare with no availability. I told her this and she did not sympathize and said this was the only time, take it or leave it. Im guessing this is why this place has availability. Most highly sought after daycares in the Houston area have some sort of wait or are willing to tell you when their next availability for your age group is. I have never dealt with such secretive and adults who were so insensitive to another persons time. If you look at the responses from the owners on the reviews on google, she is also very outspoken to those who leave negative reviews. I am just stating my experience and nothing more.

The Childhood center is the best place to bring your kids! I have two girls age 3 and 4 and when we moved to Houston I needed full time care for them. We were used to having a nanny but not knowing anyone in the area I didnt have a choice but to look for a daycare center with a serious curriculum. When I went to visit a few different childcare places I saved the childhood center for last. I brought my, at the time, 3 year old with me. Her reaction to the other places we visited was not good. Her body language and demeanor was closed and standoffish, I was also very discouraged. When I got to the childhood center and walked in I was shocked at how fun the place looked! I loved the lay out and all the different areas and activities. My 4 year old instantly was excited and engaged in checking the place out. She even wanted to stay and play!Needless to say I had my girls start the following Monday in March 2015. Both my girls attended full time from then until our move out of state in October 2015. They never complained about going to school. They enjoys the small group of kids and we all loved the instructors. Ms. Erika is hands down the best teacher I have had the pleasure of knowing. She truly loves the children and has control of the group while being fun and comforting. Some activities the girls were involved in were play time with a variety of different toys, out door playing with objects or on a play set, crafts (the girls always had something new to bring home), and educational games. I would come by at the end of the day and had to wait until the activity was done before we could leave. I even thought I would surprise them and pick them up early one day and I was greeted with tears and why are you here so early because they didnt want to miss the rest of the days activities.I was astounded by how much they learned too! My four year old was writing her name and constantly surprising me with random things they learned at school.I was always kept in the loop of the days events and how the girls did. If there was anything I needed to work on at home the recommendation was always delivered in a caring and supportive manor. I found myself asking Ms. Erika for advise often.I wish I could have taken that place with me when we moved. I strongly recommend sending your children to the childhood center, you will love it too!

I cannot express how awesome The Childhood Center is. We are so very happy with our son being enrolled in such a great school. Everyone is extremely friendly, the facility is very clean, and most importantly- our baby boy is happy. When our son was 15 weeks old, he had a horrible diaper rash (from having a stomach virus) and the OWNER took care of him and gave me her cell phone number to call her if I needed anything. They sent us home with cloth diapers, special care instructions, and even had a teacher walk over to the Pediatrician to get the hospital grade ointment he was prescribed. We are so thankful we chose a daycare facility that cares so much about the well being of our son. I really feel like we hit the jackpot. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

If they have space for your child, you should send them here. We had to wait a couple weeks until a spot opened up for our infant, but my husband insisted we send our daughter here. He looked at every school in a 15 mile radius. He really took his research serious, spreadsheets and everything, LOL. He even looked at schools in Katy and Sugarland that cost double the money and werent as good.We are very happy. With an infant you have to be very careful where you send them. But the teachers here really love kids and look after them like their own. Not every teacher is great. But overall we are very happy. The owners are great too. Very friendly and organized.

An advice for the future clients of the day care:1. read the policy carefully and point out if you have any doubts. From personal experience, if it was written clear the owners reinterpreted it in different manner easily (definitely not taking into account clients interests), even didnt care that their words contradicted with their policy.2. always request provide the updated policy, also experienced with that issue, the owner applied new policy with back date without informing parents with upcoming changes.ex-clients: Kanat and Gulya

Attention Parents!! This facility is TOXIC for you and your child!!I wanted to report the abuse, negligence and gross mishandling whereby my 4 year old child was slapped in the face by a member of the staff who despite complaints is still employed with this facility. We reported this incident to the Director of The Childhood Center and no action was taken at all. We offered the school the opportunity to remediate the situation by perhaps disciplining the staff member involved but in response it was proposed to me that my child be reassigned to a lower level class. Need-less to say, that was not an option I was willing to consider. Due to lack of dependability and demonstration of unethical behavior from the owner we decided that it was in our child’s best interest to be removed from the facility. When we asked them to refund our tuition fee that was paid in advance to them, the Director tried to bribe us and told us that she can only give us our money back if we don’t report this incident with anybody. At that point we were more concerned about the security of our child and all the other innocent children enrolled with them more than having our money back, so we walked out without it.Later when we tried to followed up with them regarding our hard earned money , we started receiving threats from their lawyer and this made the situation even worse for us. Both me and my child went through a lot of emotional and mental trauma and even after 8 months, he still remembers the incident. This facility is also expensive and extremely unprofessional and their teacher/ child turnover rate is really very high. None of the teachers are highly qualified and dont have good enough experience. I regret that i didnt do a good research before enrolling my child with them. They care more about making money than the well being of your child..I would NOT recommend this to any parent/child.
