Lets start with the 5 stars. The 5 star review goes to Lauren Riley from the career services department. She is outstanding. Any future or current students regardless of your field, make sure you contact them. The 3 stars go to the welding facilities. They will tell you they have 20 booths that are fully equipt to weld SMAW, GTAW, GMAW but they are not. There were only 7 foot pedals in December 2020. Allegedly they are in the process of expanding the welding facilities (I have since graduated) but when the original 20 booths werent outfitted with all of the necessary equipment to weld in all 3 methods, having more space and not enough equipment doesnt really make sense. Instructors are good though.

As a employer of Lincoln Tech Graduates Indianapolis, I couldn’t be more pleased with the technicians that they graduate from their training. The students that finish their program are second to none. I have tried other schools but Lincoln Tech students come more prepared with knowledge and job ability. The professors at this campus do an amazing job preparing their students for real life work skills. In the end, you get out of it what you put into it. As an employer, I know when a student overcomes the challenges with college training, they will be an excellent employee. In many cases, our Technicians are making over 40.00 an hour and Lincoln Tech is the only school we hire from. We highly recommend you attend and graduate Lincoln Tech so you can obtain much higher wages than those that don’t.

As a parent, I would describe the experience as average. While I feel like the classroom experience and the instructors were all above average and my son learned the essentials of his program effectively. The post-graduation assistance in finding jobs has been SEVERELY lacking. Unless the student plans to stay in Indianapolis, the help is non-existent. There are next to zero connections to industry and no willingness to make connections for the student. I attended Lincoln Technical Institute’s Automotive Service Management program and graduated in 2006. This program helped me out immensely in my career. I was in the field as a Mechanic for roughly 7 years and I managed for awhile also. This program gave me all the knowledge required to start a career in the automotive industry. Now I work corporate for one of the largest automobile manufacturers in the world. The best advice I could give anyone deciding to pursue this career is to know that your education doesn’t stop at Lincoln Tech. If you do not have a passion for learning than this industry isn’t for you. Technology in this industry is constantly changing and you’ll need to keep up with it or else it’ll quickly leave you behind. Also, if you decide to become a technician spend your money wisely when it come to purchasing tools. Start small, you don’t need a large box off the tool truck if you don’t have the tools to put in it. Take a loan out from a bank and find a technician who is retiring. You can get the tools for a fraction of the cost.Remember Lincoln Tech provides you with the recipe to be successful. It’s on you to follow that path to success, not Lincoln Tech. Stay thirsty for knowledge and there’s no reason why you can’t make 6 figures a year.Thank you Lincoln Tech, I might have been able to get here without you guys. I just know that with out you guys that it would have easily taken 2-3 times longer to get where I am today.

I was a student of this school from July 2018 - July 2019 and I graduated from the Auto Collison program. I would give this school zero stars, but Google makes you give one star. Reason one, they lied to me about this school. They sold this program really good when I was high school. They told me it would be 95 percent hands on and the rest is in class work, but that was not true. It was 99 percent in class and 1 percent hands on. I went to Lincoln Tech wanting to learn more about Auto Collison, but I did not get this opportunity. Reason two, when I was in class each day there was no curriculum in place. The teacher was not interested in teaching the class and we sat there for 4 hours doing nothing. At one time when I was in class, we did not talk auto collision at all. We talked about drugs, politics, and other things I will not talk about because that how bad it was. Another time in class, we were in class doing nothing but watch pet videos. So, if you want pay big money to learn about drugs, politics, pets and other things come here. Reason three, I graduated in October of 2019 and my last day was July of 2019. I was told my certificate should have been it in the mail at the graduation, but I did not receive it to January of 2020 when I complained on not receiving it. I was told on the phone, I received incorrect information about the certificate from their representative at the graduation. On the phone, I was told the certificate would be sent out at the end of January and I would not receive it until the beginning of February since there was a process, but a week later in the mail I received my certificate so it looks like you have to complain if you want anything from this school. I never got the opportunity to work on a vehicle the whole time I was there. If there were hands on, I would sand down the same fender over and over then paint it over and over. This is the most hands on I received. Overall, this school was a waste of time and money.

My son started Lincoln tech in Indianapolis last June. He was doing well in school but was robbed twice in the collegiate housing parking lot. The first time two men approached him put a gun to his head and took his wallet. A few weeks later him and some other students were approached in front of their apartment and assaulted by being pistol whipped, my son had a gun to his head and a knife to his side. Two of the boys were taken to the hospital. This was a tragic event and I hope they have improved the apartment safety. It was sold to us as a gated community but their was only a gate to get in not around the property. The rent was extremely high 2,000 a month for 4 boys to live in a two bedroom one bath apartment. We were told they couldn’t afford cameras and after the incidents they still did not have any type of security. My biggest disappointment is the schools response, they offered to move them but it was only five minutes away and that facility had problems and they transferred some kids to the facility my child was in. We could not chance this happening again, truely felt our sons life was at stake. The school said they were sorry and it was an unfortunate tragedy but we still had to pay an additional 2,700.00 so are out over 9,000 dollars not to mention the rent for absolutely nothing to count toward his degree. I am very disappointed in the schools lack of compassion, they say one thing but their actions scream a different story!

Sorry editing the review because i was forced to right one in front of an admissions advisor and was told it was a step i had to do in order to graduate . school was not up to par of what i was promised. i was promised a lot more hands on training but a majority of the time we sat in front of a lap top. never really got to work on a car my entire year there. but i will give credit when it’s due Mr. Fowler & Mr. Zamora & Mr. Donnar were the best teachers i had and honestly made one on one time to make sure you were understanding everything in there class they helped me a lot throughout my year at lincoln.

Please please please do your research before you sign papers with this school. They WILL NOT help you get a job you want! I signed for an 20k loan, did the collision repair program and after was done the job recruiter tried getting me an oil changing job at a jiffy lube!!!! Dont believe sign your name on that dotted line..

My son attended to pursue Diesel Mechanics. We encouraged him to stay an extra 3 months to earn his Associates Degree. He graduated in December 2018 with an Associate Degree in Diesel and Truck Service Management. He loved going to Lincoln Tech. We were worried about him going 3 hours away from home and how hed do in college. He was an IEP kid all through school but was determined to do Lincoln Tech without an IEP, which they do offer but he didnt want it. He really enjoyed the staff and the hands on approach. He secured full time employment from a company that attended Lincoln Techs job fair. He now works full time, lives on his own, pays all his own bills. Thank you Lincoln Tech for providing a way for my 19 year old to be self sufficient at such a young age. The only issue I ever felt negative with was Lincoln Techs communication. It seemed theyd wait until the last minute to let you know of important information. So parents, if you are concerned about your son or daughter going here, dont be. If they put in the time and effort, theyll get through the program and have a full time job by graduation within as little as 13 months. As our recruiter, Brad told us, They begin Lincoln Tech as boys and come out as men. In our circumstance, thats definitely true.

I hope to one day be a welding Instructor there. I have over 10 years experience and numerous welding certifications. Must of all I want to give back to the students and teach them what I know about the welding field from my experience. Its a long way from Fort Wayne, IN but I would be willing to move to Indianapolis if I got hired on at this campus and for the right pay.

The way this school is run is based on lies I was told when coming here there was a performance program witch there is not. And that there is 50% in class and 50% in the shop. That is not true at all. This would be a good school to go to if you knew absolutely nothing and were ignorant. Im going to be in dept for a long time and wish I would have never started going here

I have worked at Lincoln Tech- Indianapolis for 1 year. My experience has been that the staff and instructors care for and do their best to help students achieve their goals. If my child or friend were interested in a technical trade, I would recommend Lincoln Tech with no qualms. There are many great opportunities and success stories, and the truth is that students get out of the program what they put into it.
