Incredible lessons with Stephen. Highly recommended!!!I just realized how important to have a teacher right in front of me to guide and correct the way I play when I had the 1st class with him. He is knowledgeable and seems like he has lots of experience dealing with the student like me. LOLJust like everyone else, I learned from youtube videos and took few months online live lessons with other instructor. It was convenient but I knew something was missing.Here is the comparison of my online and in person guitar lesson experience.Online Live Lessons: @ home every weekConvenient, 60 min ($45)9 months to reach the goal and not sure if I was playing right.In Person Lessons: @ Stephens studio every weekSolid and efficient, 30/45 min depends on my work schedule ($35 /$ 50)3 months to reach the next level and fun.

Stephen is the coolest guy ever. He’s a funny and caring dude. He has the ability to bring out your individuality by giving you techniques that you can’t find on YouTube. This guy is the real deal. I have only been taking lessons for less than a year and I have experienced tremendous growth. He’s worth a shot if you’re thinking about taking guitar lessons!

Stephen is the best guitar teacher in Irvine area!!! (I’ve studied with other teachers before...) Stephen asked me what are the types of the music I like before I started and he designed the lesson plan for me to help me to reach my goal. The lessons with him was fun!! I started playing with acoustic guitar and switching to electric guitar after six months.Let me tell you why~My first teacher from 3 yrs ago graduated from a very good school. I don’t like her teaching style. She doesn’t care what I wanted to learn. She just follows the lesson instruction by a book. My first teacher is a good musician but not exact a good music teacher. The class was so boring and I gave up after 4 months.My second teacher was weird and got schedule management problem!!!

Stephen is great, very patient and taught me more than just drills and techniques. He taught me fundamental concepts which will allow me to further my guitar playing skills on my own for years to come. I am appreciative of his ability to relate the musical world to my own in a way that I can easily understand.

Stephen is an Excellent Teacher. He will always try to find what it is you want to accomplish and what you like musically and work to get you where you want. Works to tailor his lessons towards your goals as well as your musical likes and is always prepared every week. Every lesson is focused on you and not on how great he can play & never him showing off his skills.The environment Is always pleasant, inviting and he is very comfortable to work with. As a student who wasnt a complete beginner but had only a very little bit of basic skill and knowledge of the guitar, he approached it more to getting me to playing musically rather than simply just memorizing scales/chords etc. (although he does expect me to put the effort in on my own practice time to learn the scales/chords he works on, he just does not focus his lesson time on rote memorization tasks).Everything is always focused towards actually using these concepts to playing musically. Stephen is very patient & willing to answer a lot of random questions from me, even ones that I probably have no need to be asking at my current skill level & He always tries to either work them into that days lesson, or in one of the next lessons depending on what is best.Will be continuing lessons with him as long as needed and as long as I am able to. If you have the desire and focus to learn I definitely recommend him as a teacher to help you advance.

Stephen is a great guitar teacher. He keeps the lessons varied and interesting and always ties them together to emphasise “big picture” concepts and music theory as opposed to just teaching me to memorize songs.He also does a great job keeping my 7 year old son interested and motivated to practice which is not an easy task.Highly recommended!

Unlike other teachers Ive had before, he has a very structured teaching approach. He breaks down complex techniques in a small modeled, which enabled me to learn quickly. He is very accommodating with my schedule, too. Highly recommend him!!!

I started studying with Stephen about 7 months ago and I am so happy I did. My playing has greatly improved to a level I never could have achieved on my own. One of the things I like about Stephen’s teaching is how he tailors your lessons mostly to areas of music you Like. I say mostly because he does expand your wheelhouse with other types of music you may not have thought about playing. For instance, I am not much of a reggae fan, but Stephen introduced me to bar chords using Sublime, a band while not entirely reggae, has a strong reggae influence. I really enjoyed learning the technique and would have never tried without his influence. I can keep on giving examples but the bottom line is, Stephen is a talented and wonderful instructor. I highly recommend him to anyone who wants to learn how to play the guitar.

I have tried to learn from YouTube, YouTube can’t give me feedback on what I’m doing. Im taking 45 min lesson every week since November. I have improved in the last two months more than I have in the last two years. Thank you Stephen, I’m so glad I found you!!!
