I am an adult student who has a background in music, but havent studied formally in years. I was searching for a place that had extremely advanced and experienced teachers. I found that place here! They are also, so wonderful and welcoming! My playing has already improved in 4 lessons! My teacher is fantastic at helping me break through the measures Ive been stuck on for years! Finishing up pieces I havent been able to for years, and its sounding good. Thank you 😊 Irvine School of Music! 🎢

My daughter comes here for music and fun class. Staff is really helpful answering our questions. My daughter get to know various types of music instruments, and note signs, whole note, hold note etc. The class is interactive and my daughter tries different types of instrument during the class.

My daughter has been training for the last couple of months and we are impressed with not just the quality of teaching but also the responsiveness of administration. We love the piano/voice teacher that my daughter is training with. Overall convincing thus far.

My daughter has been taking piano lessons at ISM for almost three years and we both see her great improvement during the time. The teachers at the school are very professional and they always find the right approach to make students understand well. During the COVID-19, the principle started ZOOM class at a very early stage and made sure the seamless transition from in-person class to online class. My daughter always has fun and feels motivated in her piano class and never get discouraged. Definite recommend!!!

My grandson has been taking piano lessons with teacher Daniel for more than a year. Teacher Daniels technical skills and his character and personality have created a nice and friendly teaching environment for Jackson. He loves his classes and has a strong motivation to learn.

My son has tried several music schools in the past, and also he has private tutors experiences, and the fact is all do not work out well until he attended ISM. He loves it and the teachers are professional and patient. We are happy that my son can finally find this place that he can enjoy the most.

I am 30 years old and have been taking piano lessons with Daniel for the last 2 years at this school. Though I had some experience playing before, (being an intermediate student) the quality of lessons I am receiving are incredibly beneficial to me musically. I take weekly lessons and rather enjoy the obligation to my teacher to improve each week. I look forward to my lessons for this reason. The music I am currently learning would not have been possible for me a year ago. This institution is still growing and developing every day, as there is always room for improvement. The team seems open and willing to listen to suggestions from the students which makes me feel appreciated. I have enjoyed my lessons here with the Irvine School of Music. 🎼🎹

It is just a great place! Both of my children love learning piano there. At the same time they are challenged, they also have fun. The instructors are very qualified and skilled. My daughters are so into music that now they are interested in singing and learning a new musical instrument. The new studio is also very nice and spacious. Overall, I just had a very positive experience there.

This school is very accommodating; I needed short term violin lessons, less than a month, for my daughter, and they found a way to make it happen. She has had two amazing instructors so far who have put her at complete ease. It’s a wonderful school. Thank you Manny for being so helpful.

Excellent school to introduce music to all ages. Director is genuinely passionate about music education and the entire staff are very welcoming and friendly. It is the only school where I can see my children grow up and enjoy music for a long time.

The two girls I nanny were taking violin and piano lessons, respectively. I signed them up for regular weekly lessons, the same day and time every week, to fit in with our other schedules. After two weeks they called and told me they had changed the lesson times to Monday and Fridays at 8pm. Without any consultation, just changed them. This didnt work and when I called to reschedule it was like pulling teeth! Finally we just decided to finish out the month of lessons that had been payed for, and not schedule any further lessons here. At our last lesson the instructor was a no-show and we had to reschedule for another day. At the makeup lesson the instructor was a no-show AGAIN and we had to wait half an hour for them to show up.If youre fine with a casual disregard for scheduling or employee responsibly, go ahead and take lessons. Im sure others have had perfectly fine experiences with the music school, as is evident by the positive reviews. However, I am beyond frustrated with my experience.

I would not recommend it. Bad quality of education. The teachers change all the time (during one year my daughter was getting a new teacherapproximately every two months and had to start over). It is not worth the price.

I am a seventeen-year-old senior in high school, and Ive been taking piano lessons for 12 years now. For the first 8 years of my instruction, I had three different teachers--only about 4 years ago did I start lessons with Cameron Tong. Like other kids my age, I absolutely hated going to piano lessons. I dreaded the meticulous practice, endless music theory homework, and weekly lessons all for what? To perform at nerve-wracking, panic-attack-inducing recitals? I could be riding bikes with my friends! Or even playing video games! Im not going to lie: switching over to lessons with Cameron certainly didnt make me love piano overnight. However, he made the transition a lot easier and piano as an art form more appealing. Cameron is not only an incredible master of music, but is a genuinely caring, observant, understanding, and passionate mentor and friend. When I have a stressful week at school (as stressful as high school can get..), Cameron doesnt guilt-trip me for not practicing, but instead gets me motivated to work even harder during that weeks lesson. When it comes time to learn a new piece, he makes sure to ask what I want to learn--whether its a song from the radio, an opportunity to compose, or even a classical piece. Cameron understands that everyones interest and music is unique, and so he really does work hard to nurture and refine that passion. Ive been studying with Cameron ever since he was at a smaller studio a few years ago. Seeing him go through all these changes--from the studio, to a bigger studio, to now heading the Irvine School of Music--has made me appreciate him even more as my instructor. These changes never affected Camerons attention to lessons, which goes to prove Camerons immense skill of organization and careful planning. Now, a senior in high school, Ive finally found my love for piano. Even with college applications, a heavy course-load, athletics, and other extra-curriculars, I still decided to add yet another piano lesson per week. Ive been classically-trained for most of my life, adding Jazz piano was kind of a why not? It has been absolutely amazing. After every jazz lesson, I am inspired and stunned by Dans incredible skill (Ive told him many times that I wish I could just sit and listen to him play all day). For a few lessons, I had the honor of taking lessons with Morgan (who subbed for Dan). Morgan, not only is a mind-blowingly-amazing musician, but a hilarious, friendly, down-to-earth person that I am blessed to have met. And I think, above all things, THAT is what matters. Music is all about learning from your peers, getting inspired by your peers. Who would want to learn music, an incredibly expressive and emotional art form, from someone just talking AT you? Learning piano is a huge investment in many aspects, and I am so happy to have made that investment with such an incredible school. Thank you Cameron, Dan, and Morgan for your investments in me. I am so grateful to have worked alongside such gifted artists.

After reading about this place in the OC Register I decided to check it out, possibly get my son started on piano lessons.I was disappointed with the facility, especially after reading about it in the Register article. The large waiting area was not large at all, in fact, its the smallest of all the music studios Ive visited. The small concert hall was just a bigger room with a piano in it--I really dont know what makes it a concert hall. Speaking of which, I cant find the six classrooms stated in the article at all, unless they are counting the concert hall as two classrooms because its bigger?I cant speak about the teachers there because I didnt feel comfortable enrolling my son there knowing that the owner was dishonest in his description of the place.Ive always gotten the feeling that music studio owners care more about profit than anything else. If you want to deal with all the fees and deposits and higher tuition go here, but personally I feel much more comfortable taking my son to a private piano teacher who Ive interviewed and trust.
