The school itself is about average, but the teachers are a different story. Depending on whether you are chosen to be put in accelerated classes or not changes the experience you have learning. From my experience so far, I’ve heard of teachers who are at the quite low end of the spectrum who teach ‘developmental’ classes (Which I have heard before was the name for regular classes). But I’ve learned from teachers who actually want to help you succeed in accelerated classes, you get them if you show the potential and ability of wanting of learn (Or selecting an elective that promotes college readiness and AP classes such as AVID). If you are looking into this school to spend a good couple of years with, hope for AP classes or I wish you good luck in developmental.

I feel like I could rant all day long about my experience in Harney, because its terrible. The students are somewhat nice and less agitating than some Ive encountered in other schools but the teachers and staff are unbelievable. A majority of teachers I have already dislike me in the first year of me attending this school. Other reviews have talked about how mean the teachers are, but not to mention, also very petty and unprofessional. Asking a simple question to a teacher can provoke them for no reason at all and certain teachers may even call you out on it. This is extremely rude towards the student and also unnecessary because they are a TEACHER. They are here to educate us and answer our questions. Ive had this occur to me several times in only a few weeks of school. Speaking of unnecessary, Ive encountered a teacher who mocked my question days later. Professional? I dont think so. These behaviors can take a negative effect on my peers, considering that students should be able to come up to their teacher or administrators for personal issues and concerns, especially if said student feels discontent with the school counselor. This not only takes and effect of our education, but also on our mental health. Trust me, I dont like teachers getting salty with me because I pop a fly or I forget to circle the coefficient on my bad days. In conclusion, I do not recommend this school to you (if you are a student) or your child (if you are a parent). I would suggest you to indulge into other middle schools if youd like to have a more pleasant experience with the adults, coming from a student.

If I could rate lower I would!!! This is by far the worst school my kids have been in and we travel with work so they have been to a few schools. The teachers are ridiculous and i honestly think do not care. I have left voicemails emails and messages and have never gotten a return call from any of them! W have dealt with 4 diffrent cases of bullying and I finally had to go to the deans office myself. I appreciate the lady in the deans office that took the time to listen and did take care of one of the problems. The kids here are rude and disrespectful as is the staff. None of them look like you can approach them or you might get yelled at. By far the worst school ever!!!! Run if you can. Im so glad its time to move again so my son doesnt have to get in my car crying anymore this year!!!!

This school is trash and i highly recommend applying for a different school as Harney lacks the proper information for math, reading, science, etc. All of the teachers lack the enthusiasm to motivate kids as well. Multiple students would agree and would also like to recommend another school for your kids.

I like the school but so times there are fights. A kid I know got punched in the face and didnt come back for 3 days. I think that there isnt enough staff to keep that under control. Other than that it is great.

Its wonderful place to learn they have something called refresh were a random person who travels the world comes to talk to the audience , its amazing.

I love harney there is not that much fights like some other schools but yes their is bullying and fighting sometimes but really everyone get along well and some teachers are mean but their is some that are really nice i hope some kids will go to this school its really good.

The staff there are stupid like if there’s a fight going on they don’t care but if it’s dress code the staff are like “oh it’s the end of the world.” A fight is more important than freaking dress code I used to go to O’Callaghan middle school and the staff there are smarter than the staff at “Harney” So I have something to say. I belong at Ocallaghan, I have been there since the sixth grade, then I moved here in the middle of my eighth grade year, I’m just not happy here, honestly at ocallaghan I understood everything way better than I do here. There I was actually passing science and math now I’m failing math. So as I’ve said before, I DO NOT BELONG HERE. I’m would give anything to go back to ocallaghan but I can’t now because it’s the last semester, so thanks a lot Harney you’ve basically ruined my education. And that’s not even the half of it. At ocallaghan the kids were quiet and they did their work, but here it’s the complete freaking opposite, the kids in my classes except for band and health just abuse the teachers kindness. When I was at ocallaghan the staff there actually cared about the kids and actually sent people to the deans office when they were being complete fools. At ocallaghan I had much more friends but here it’s just hard because I moved here with only five months of school left and I was all set to go to Disneyland with my friends in the band and choir class, when I moved here, down the drain that opportunity went so Harney just ripped that away from me. Ocallaghans like “Here you can go to Disneyland when your in advanced band, you’ll get to spend time with your friends and go on rides.” And Harney is like, “Oh no you’re moving with me now, so let me just take you away from your friends and the Disneyland trip and make u come here.” So basically everything I had and everyone I cared about is gone thanks to Harney and now I have to go through the struggle of making new friends and trying to pass the classes that I was way ahead of at ocallaghan. So everything I had at ocallaghan was ripped away from me the moment I set foot at Harney, and my sanity is slowly going away every time I’m there. So I have three words tosay. HARNEY IS TRASH. Oh and if you decide to call me into the office to ask why I reviewed the way I did I will be prepared to tell you why. I will back up everything I said here.

This 2 women that work in the front office they are so rude and mean they never greet they could be talling with other people ad people is waiting they dont care they will call you whenever they want to help and when they finally get to you they all mean they relly need to change them or change they attitude they make the school look so bad because they are the first persobal that we see.

Oof this school is wrong on so many levels but its not so bad that I cant live because of it.

Me as a parent I dont like the staff from the front office example msVicky she always looks very mad 😡 is like she hates her job n kids n the teacher one that never smiles just like ms Vicky I always have to register my kid in the other school were his simbilings goes And I always have to go every week to register my kid for the reason of this bs tardy sweep it takes away the aducation from teens as a dad they really need to stop this they should b proud that at least they goes to school I hope n pray this will change soon sincerely Jose n yes mr Morgan you are doing a great job my son talks about u every day how fun u make the class

Im not saying that I dont like it, but there is a lot of bullying and too many fights. I got into one last year and I got RPCd

Well my son started school in early december . He was stabbed, bit by a snake, and even knocked out and tortured in the bathroom. But one day he was hit in the face with an iPad and had to get surgery. The bathrooms smell like feces and the teachers have attitude. This school should be shut down entirely.

This is the worst school ive ever been to. They treated us like prisoners and NOTHING was EVER clean.
