I started taking classes at Coucou in early 2020 to brush up on my French and its been a fantastic treat. Aside from the fact that the language instruction itself is excellent, the material and subject matter used to implement it are super. We talk about current events, both in the US and France, and are introduced to music, literature and other fun aspects of French culture throughout. Would HIGHLY recommend Coucou to anyone looking to learn (or continue to learn) French! Merci Coucou!

Jadore Coucou! All of the teachers are fantastic. Coucou has taken my French to new levels and taught me to have conversations with more confidence! I am also learning useful French, not just textbook French, things I can use in real life situations. There are also lovely students in this community. It is so nice to have a community of friends that are interested in learning the French language, French culture, really all things French! Merci Coucou!!

I love Coucou! The teachers are incredibly friendly and helpful. Ive taken three classes with them (Level 3, 4, and 5) and seen significant improvement in my French. These arent your typical language classes. Theyre modern, fun, and prepare you for actual real-life conversations/scenarios. Ive gained a newfound confidence with, and understanding of, the French language. Plus, Ive made new friends that share my love of French language and culture via their social events! Merci Coucou.

I have really enjoyed my classes at Coucou after the first session! I was looking for classes that were more than just sitting there studying French like you were in high school again, but something that could help me maintain my French and learn in a different way.I knew a lot of French coming in so started with level 3. The class size was small and intimate, and my teacher made class feel comfortable and fun.The location is really cute, and doesnt feel like a classroom for children. Parking is on the street which always has open spaces.I also really enjoy the community that Coucou is creating as I continue to take classes. From holiday parties to movie nights to embroidery in French there is so much to offer! Im learning the French I want to learn, that will help me sound more natural.

I have been a student at Coucou for 5 months now, and I will continue to be a student for as long as they are here. I started in their level 5 (out of 7) class due to having already studied French before and I have been very happy to have joined another Francophone community that really cares about the students and their passion for the language and French culture. They are very flexible with your needs and provide a lot of support in helping you reach your goals. They have been very inclusive on how they run their school and have made my classes very fun and engaging. Being in Cynthias class is a delight as she brings a lot of personality to her method of teaching and is patient with every student to make each lesson fun and worth your time and money. If you are looking for a Francophone community to join I would not hesitate to try out Coucou as they also provide many other activities and classes to really live the French language.

Coucou is a special place. I‘ve been a student for a year now and haven taken both private and group classes here, both of which I recommend. I find the Coucou approach engaging, practical, and effective- I saw great results in just a few months. The vibe is fun & low pressure- you can put as much work into it as you want or can based on your schedule- and will see results accordingly. Beyond classes, they host some really great cultural events that bring the Community together around French language. Everything I’ve attended has been tastefully put together and always a good time. In terms of teachers, I really love learning with Cynthia, but all of the instructors are super knowledgeable and patient.

Coucou is a great place to learn French. All of the teachers are native speakers and excellent at keeping students engaged in a welcoming atmosphere. Cynthia is amazing! She keeps the classes light and fun, AND she is really good at explaining complicated grammar. Having small classes is great to keep you engaged. I highly recommend Coucou to anyone wanting to learn or improve their French!

I love Coucou! Very welcoming and fun environment. I started taking French classes here because I was dating a French guy -- no longer dating him :) ..but Im still at Coucou!! -- that speaks to how great the teachers and the program are.I had been using apps on and off for a few years to learn French, but never really got past the basics. That has completely changed with classes at Coucou -- in-person instruction, the course plans theyve developed, and the ability to ask questions has really helped me to improve my understanding and abilities in French so much more quickly.(While I look forward to getting back in the classroom, Coucou has transitioned to online classes seamlessly during social distancing time!)

I love Coucou! I’ve been taking classes here for a while because I’m hoping to eventually move to France for school. I just went to Paris for a week after finishing level 2, and I impressed a few waiters and new friends with my speaking abilities. The school has a really wonderful laid-back community environment and I feel welcomed and taken care of every time I go (sometimes they give me wine during class). I’m so glad I chose Coucou over a community college because it’s more affordable, social, and low-pressure. I’m sure all the teachers are great but I’ve loved to get to know the two I’ve had so far, Cynthia and Jean-Baptiste. 100% recommend.

Have loved my time at Coucou! Friendly and fun instructors who work to meet you where you’re at. The curriculum is designed to teach you the everyday language skills that will be immediately useful. They also strive to create a community with events outside of classes. Recommended!

J’adore Coucou! Wonderful, effective French language classes in a beautiful space + French teachers who make learning fun and accessible to all. In addition to weekly classes, they build community with super-fun parties and special workshops open to all.

Ive been a student at Coucou for a little over 6 months with Giulia as my teacher. I love that the location is close to my home in downtown and that the classes are small enough so everyone can feel engaged. Giulia is an amazing teacher and does a great job of keeping the class interesting. She makes sure to answer everyones questions before moving forward. The classes go by so fast (when ones having fun!) that I usually wish they could be longer. Im grateful to Giulia and Coucou now that Ill start reading my first story book in French!

Its been a lifelong goal of mine to learn French and the team at Coucou LA has made it both easy and fun. Since December 2019 I have done a 10-week group program, a 2-week accelerated group program, and weekly private lessons. There is an option for every time and financial commitment.I have to commend Coucou on quickly adapting to distance/online-learning in response to Covid-19. I went from in-person learning to online without any trouble or inconvenience at all. I miss hanging out with my teachers and spending time at the actual school but am glad that Ive been able to carry on!If youre looking for a casual/conversation-based program where you can learn both french language and french culture you should definitely consider enrolling at Coucou LA.Bonne chance à tous!

Highly recommend this program! The curriculum is engaging and makes you feel comfortable to learn and grow at your own pace. The teachers are fantastic and oh so French. I found it cool that as you continue to move up levels, your teachers move up with you and continue to foster your develpment. All in all a fantastic school and set of teachers; out of all the methods and classes Ive tried, this is the best!

Salut à tous ! I found Coucou through Yelp a year ago and have been part of the community ever since. I think the greatest thing about Coucou (besides Cynthia et Margaux) is the diligent casualness of the class. For me, I’m looking to understand the culture as much as learn the language and my classes at Coucou has enriched my understanding of French in a wholistic way. Classes always have been fun and now it’s super exciting to recognize grammar/ vocabulary when listening to music, watching films or when listening to other speak. A great community run by formidable and caring people. A very warm and easy environment. I’m very grateful. Merci infiniment Coucou ♥️

I have been a student for 2 years at Coucou Los Angeles, and absolutely adore this team of teachers-turned-friends. I speak French fluidly and at a proficient level, so finding a community where I could continue my French in a conversational setting with like-minded creative individuals was a tricky feat! I have had nearly every member of the Coucou family as a teacher, and they are a collectively warm, easy-going, and hip group of young creatives who are interested in the same things as me (travel, film, music, cuisine, the arts). The learning experience is curated at all levels, as I have friends in beginner/intermediate level who are return students. The team at Coucou could not be further from the silly French stereotype of being snobby or standoffish. I highly recommend taking a course here. You will sans doute be joining the Coucou fan club and planning your next overseas trip to France, well-prepared to engage with locals! Bisous à ma famille de Coucou.

Took four group classes of French, each 3 months long. Ive had Cynthia as my teacher, with Margaux and Julie substituting. Fantastic school, with a very fun curriculum and a focus on useful spoken-French, as opposed to more rigid but less useful French. Classes were never bigger than four.

This was by far the most fun Ive ever had in a language class. The program is super down-to-earth and you wont feel awkward or embarrassed to practice and make mistakes. Ive had Margaux, Cynthia, and Julia as my teachers and they are allso badass- and so French. Its amazing.Coucou definitely creates a community as well as a class- there are Christmas parties, meetups, winebar excursions, you name it.Its such a charming setup. You get so much bang for your buck! I really cant recommend it enough.
