Great experience for learning English! There are many other schools and online courses, but for Kaplan it’s worth extra for the full immersion experience. There are opportunities out of class like Business English and real-life project based learning. Student ambassadors make the newcomers feel more welcome, and there are fun activities planned so that students make the most of their experience in LA.

Great experience, helped me work on my English skills and I`m much more secure either speaking or writing. I would definitely recommend.

I just want to share by experience at Kaplan Westwood for future students and hope it will guide them through.I enrolled for a 12-week program called “Intensive English Course” (the only difference with General English course is that we had class in the afternoon). And also I chose one of the housing plans through the school.Generally, I would say that I really liked Westwood, very friendly neighborhood and the long stay in Los Angeles.Concerning the school, the program did live up to my expectations at all. After the placement test, I joined the advanced student class. First, I would say that I was extremely disappointed with the teacher who did not help us improve our skills. It was like a dull English class and nothing innovative about it. My main purpose was to improve pronunciation but the subject was never brought up. And about the afternoon time, we used to to watch the TV Series “Friends”. For the housing, I chose to share an apartment with 4 students from Kaplan, the place was filthy, maid barely came to clean it up. The overall experience was not what I expected.I think that UCLA extension, across the street, has a variety of English programs and is more expensive as well.If you are looking to spend some time in LA and refresh your English, please stick with the General English course. I believe Kaplan does a better job preparing students for exams like the TOEFL. Maybe it can be an alternative.

I studied at many English schools, but Kaplan gave me the best learning experience. They have amazing teacher and their teaching methods are full of activities and fun. I believe this is the best way to learn a language. Also the most important and amazing thing here is the great friend I had. I had more than 50 friends from all nationalities. We had a lot of fun together and that what improves everyones English so fast. I highly recommend studying here.

Terrible staff in this place, especially the person who takes care about the accommodations. They do a lot of mistakes and really don’t care about the students. I had a terrible experience in LA during my days because of them. I would never recommend this school for anyone. The city has a lot of English schools, go to other ones.However my teacher was such a nice person and amazing professional.

Bad school. They cant teach you properly. Some teachers just want take your money.Also activities are very bad and usually cancelled. Maybe 2 or 3 people wants to attend. And they cancel it. In classrooms most of the students plays with their phones. And teachers doesnt do anything about them. No one wants to talk and teacher does not push them to talk. So always teachers talks.Their accomodation options are really awful. They put me dirty hostfamily house. I couldnt sleep at night. They did not help me about that. So I found apartment by myself. They did not care me.Waste of money.

No more explain needed. Just choose this school, you wont regret it!

This school is not good, the attitude of the teaching staff is very bad. After months of studying here, they have not learned anything useful, and the fees are unreasonable and not good.

I was a student here. With high tuition they even dont give the audio of two of their main books to students, therefore they have to complete a 3 months course for about $6000 tuition. I only have 2 large books without any audio for all skills, except reading.

This kaplan is really good language school because teachers are very kind and place is really convenient!

I DO NOT recommend here.Firat of all, it takes too much time to do any administrative procedures at here. It took FOURTEEN DAYS to finish simple and single paperworks because a staff who did the work was so sloppy. Second, also there are lack of explanations about necessary information. And if there are any incidents, its all your responsibility. Third, You cant even contact directly with them in office hours by phone. So you need to talk with Kaplan headquarters and wait them until they send an email to Kaplan International English in LA AGAIN. Such a retarded, old-fashioned administrative system and amateurs who dont want to fix these problems.

I studied there during 2 months and I truly command this school !Great teacher, wonderful staff and amazing host family. If you want to improve your English with teacher whose are really good and in a great area, do not hesitate !The staff is always listening, helping the students and hey organise lot of fun activites.

The time I spent in Kaplan was so great

I studied for a month in this is school, and my experience was AMAZING! I made friends from all over the world that I still talk to.The teachers were great also, we were able to learn english in a funny way, talking about important topics with different people and get to knowing their point of view, and it was amazing for me as a lover of different cultures.The school is located in a strategic place, a bus away from Santa Monica Beach, and really close to UCLA, lots of restaurants and a big mall located at Pico Blvd.I satyed just 3 weeks studying in this school, and as soon as I get there I did a test so they could fit me in the best level, but what happened is that they put me in an afternoon class, that was terrible since i was just staying for a couple days and a big city to visit! So what i did was talk to them, and they were really comprehensive, and 4 days later i was in a morning class!Kaplan is a great experience that worths every cent.

Ive mailed a document so many times I wanted, but they did not Absolutely do not choose !!!FOR TURKISH STUDENTS;I sent the money from my own account but sent back to my school counselor only refunds are sent to his own account !!! I want a document to sue the counselor but they do not give it to the school even tiger gelmeyinnn !!! Im very regretful

Very bad experience I dont recommend it, they are not clear and the most of the teachers are not native speakers but dont be fooled, they put native speakers in the front desk ONLY .. dont GET risk to study abroad with them, it is not different about studying in your country Do Not focus on school name, focus on the Quality of teaching ....Institute very very very very bad, I would never recommend joining it, most of the language teachers have, English is not the mother tongue, are not clear in dealing at all, they have a permanent shortage of staff, and they are never organized random work, never be fooled by the staff at the reception that they are from First language English speakers, teachers are most of them. As I mentioned earlier, I studied in three institutes and they were the worst. Do not focus on the name and fame of the school. In this school I was preparing to pass the gmat exam, lessons twice a week for 2 hours for the first six weeks, and the remaining 4 weeks for one lesson per week.
