I had such a lovely experience at Gould’s Academy. The staff went above and beyond to make sure my haircut was exactly what I wanted and looked perfect. They focused on the details and didn’t just rush through. Can’t recommend them enough!

Students were friendly and professional. The student doing my shampoo roller set did a good job shampooing my hair but she was slow when doing my roller set. I think she didnt have alot of experience with roller sets

I wish I could write 10 pages of why not to enroll in this school, but it won’t fit! To put it short these people are money hungry and the instructors are beyond fake! Very unprofessional!

I love this place! Everyone truly displays the heart of Memphis & its down to earth hospitality. Even in the face of indifference they hold a high standard for respect as is communicates well with anyone from all walks of life!

One of these cosmo teachers should be audio recorded in class because of the things she says in class when she is not accompanied by another teacher. I was told there should be 2 teachers in class although most teachers are fine alone. But this teacher (I don’t wish to mention her name) is like night and day when there is not another teacher in class. She talks bad about the school and students get a funny look on their face and leave out of class because they’re uncomfortable and don’t want to hear that, especially from a teacher. She even told one student that you can just print up a fake document to “do hair” and all sorts of stuff. I would think that Gould’s would like to keep their students rather than have a teacher encourage them to seek other avenues like apprenticeship, etc. Some students didn’t return the next day because it was that bad. I will not repeat the bad things she said and advice she gave students. She talks like she doesn’t want to work there or that’s just how she is maybe. I would love to repeat some of the things she said but I would not want it to reflect on Gould’s. I guess students should report her in order to do something about it but don’t want to. Gould’s is a nice school only teachers like this ruin it. We pay too much money to this school.

I had an amazing time! Ebony was amazing and did a wonderful job on the Murad facial. I’ll be back for sure!

Decent haircuts, instructors seem good. But if their eating or busy telling a story , they won’t shift gears. I’ve shifted my routine about 5000 times for a good customer and expect service providers to be a little bit more accommodating. Especially when I’m the only one waiting.

Dad got a good haircut from a young man here. Some of the staff knows how to act professionally, but too many of the students (and a few on staff) walk around pointing at people and laughing or whispering and snickering about each other or customers. Some even go so far as to exclaim EWWW if they see someone they deem to be ugly.Moms hair is very short and thin but it took 2 hours for a student to put in curlers and blow it out.

Gould’s Academy - Park Place makes for a great sideshow of “Bad Girls Club” or “One flew over the Cuckoo’s nest” where urban meets suburban. Granted this is a trade school and not a 4- year university but there should be some type of decorum to say the least. Well I guess their financial aid assistance rings good so let’s sing “Mary”.

Do not enroll at Goulds Academy park place. This school is like a jungle. Most of the cosmetology students are untamed as if theyve never been out of their own house before in their life. They disturb other classrooms by entering classes theyre not assigned to which is very distracting and not conducive to learning. The staff allows them to run all over the school bothering other students while theyre working on the clinic floor and from class to class all throughout the day. They need more beauty schools available in their neighborhood since their other one closed down to have kept them from migrating to a relatively fine school that allows anyone to sign up. The staff are not strong armed enough to place these students in order. They have their instructors crying and stirring all over the place because of their disorderly conduct. The higher staff does not seem to care about this chaos because theyre in their quiet office away from this crowd unbothered. Sadly, the majority of their instructors are ghetto, unknowleable and can not speak proper English terminology.

I just had the most Amazing facial!🧖🏽‍♀️ That Murad Signature Facial got me glowing out here for my Birthday. Ayeeee. Found a Groupon and tried it out. Go for it, your skin deserves it!

Always excellent service and the students know what they are doing. The instructors are always within arms reach . Their products are top of the line.

Goulds Academy was amazing to those of us that were displaced when our school closed! They welcomed us in, no matter how many hours we had, as if we were always a part of their family!!!

I have worked at several schools in the Memphis area. This is one of the most respected company in the Memphis area and I am privileged to be an employee.

My husband bought a facial coupon for me as a gift but 2 weeks after I couldnt used the coupon because they never picked up the phone. We left several voice mail, they did not return the call. Even we tried to get an walk-in service but they said they are cleaning up so they can not provide service though I went there before there closing time. And today when a lady finally picked up the phone, she behaved rudely and told me to get a refund from group on. Very disappointed!

My daughter hates this school and she has not learned a thing. I’ve called a few times to complain about how she has been treated. She says a lot of bad things about how this school is ran. I wish she leaves it alone and start over at a corporate school.

Best place in the Memphis area to get an education!
