LAC helped me in so many ways. I learned a lot which contributed to my success as a teacher of Adult Basic Education. When I received a Masters Degree in the early 1980’s, I knew I wanted to work in the field of Adult Education, but I had no idea how to get started. At the time, I was a lone Reading Specialist employed by a Social Service agency in NYC. LAC provided numerous interactive workshops. They put me on a tract I wanted to be on. It was at LAC that I not only honed my skills, but in addition, developed important insights into the world of the adult learner.I had the privilege of working with Ira Yankwitt at the NYC Dept. Of Education where he was a very positive support. I will always value his contribution to helping in the shaping of my teaching career. ( Thanks Ira!)I am delighted that he is continuing his good works at LAC.Roberta McCormick
