Held a product launch and media luncheon with a celebrity chef at Havens Kitchen in April 2015, and the event space, decor, staff and service was top notch. Rarely does a big event go off without a hitch--this was one of those times. It was perfect, and I will definitely return if/when the need arises.

Where do I even begin? Halle, Bryn, Irit and Chef David are all just outstanding. My husband and I held our surprise wedding here in December 2016 and planned it all in under 3 months. Halle was an absolute pleasure to work with and gave us the timeline that we needed to stick to. My husband and I were pretty lacksadasical with our planning and had some pretty crazy scheduling conflicts leading up to our wedding day so we really appreciated Halle keeping us on task and checking in with us to make the various decisions. Halle also brought in her expertise to help us make some of the decisions that we really didnt know/care that much about (like what color/texture linens..??). She also used some tricks to help us stick with our budget which we also really really appreciated.Chef David dreamed us up a fabulous menu according to our guests food restrictions and we are still getting glowing compliments from our friends. The day before our wedding, we met with Halle, Bryn and Irit when we dropped off all our decorations and supplies. During the planning, we communicated primarily with Halle but when we met for the rehearsal, it was clear that Bryn and Irit had both been looped in to all the details (our candy bar, tea for our parents, surprise party, etc)On the actual day, Irit and Bryn were total rockstars in making sure the wedding went smoothly. They were on hand for the setup and kept an eye on the flow of food and drink throughout the night. Bryn was also my signal girl when it came time for my processional. After the wedding, the HK team meticulously packed away all our gifts and decorations back in the bins and got it ready for us to pick up during the week.TLDR: the HK team is a true gem and I would recommend anyone to hold their event here.Separately, their coffee is bomb. so basically, there really isnt anything they cant do.

This is my very favorite place in Manhattan. Try the cherry scones on Saturday morning. Favorite. But all the snacks & pastries are delicious. They make a great almond milk latte and the cooking classes are hella fun. Feels like youre living in a Nancy Meyers movie when you step through the doors.

I hesitate to write this review because I love this place. Great sweets, coffee, and staff. However, once in a blue moon there has to be a failure-actually, I can’t do it. I can’t say anything bad. Today’s experience was a fluke, a dumb twenty year old.Go here. It’s great. Enjoy. All you need is love.

In the mornings they have some great coffee and also a great spot to have a quick meeting. They always surprise me with there lunch options, it changes every day with 3 things a soup, a salad, and a sandwich. All great values and delicious! And if you are looking for a venue for an event they have 3 floors of really adaptable space.

We received a $1,000 gift card for cooking classes this year. They shutdown the classes after covid and are refusing to reimburse the money for classes they no longer offer. Terrible way to treat a customer and horrible customer service

This is a rare class act. Whether its enjoying a coffee and a sandwich in the retail space, attending one of the diverse and interesting culinary classes, spending the evening at a wonderful and intimate event in the bar and dining space, or partying away in the spectacular top floor event space you will experience a level of quality and hospitality thats difficult to find anywhere else in the city. Ive been to several of the classes and they have always been really well structured and with just the right amount of wine pairing; Ive hosted a 20 person client dinner to celebrate 10 years of our NY office; and most significantly, my wife and I had 100 people (which was possibly pushing its capacity) seated for our Wedding breakfast and reception. What was obvious to me across all aspects of Havens Kitchen is their absolute attention to detail and genuine personal touch. The culture of the space flows through the actions and attitude of the staff rather than being read off a check list of how to do things properly. Lovely people, beautiful design aesthetic throughout, delicious cocktails and wines, but most significantly, a stunning menu of local and seasons food prepared under the watchful creative direction of the master Chef Mawhinney! Suffice to say, I am a big fan!

We worked with Haven’s Kitchen to cater our Brooklyn wedding in 2017 and it could not have been a smoother experience. Halle, Bryn, and David all worked hard from the very beginning to ensure that everything went off without a hitch. All of them are real pros. While we were still figuring out the menu, David even invited us to taste appetizers and dishes he was working on. Hillary and I decided early on that we wanted fried chicken and biscuits at our wedding, and David went as far as testing out different recipes and shapes for the biscuits. Making fried chicken for that many people is a logistical challenge that makes me nervous just thinking about it, but everything was planned out to the minute. And I know I’m biased because this was my wedding, but it was by far the best food I’ve ever had at a wedding. From the hors d’oeuvres to the chicken and sandwiches to the dessert, it was all incredible. A year later, we still have people rave to us about the food. We’re so grateful to Halle, Bryn, and David for listening to us and helping make our wedding more wonderful and memorable than even we could have hoped for.

This review is on their Festive Vegan Dinner cooking class. What went wrong: Chef Ashley didnt think that having non-vegan wine and (almost) adding other non-vegan products to the food was fine, after all, I was the only vegan. Chef Ashley also didnt think there was anything wrong with extolling the virtues of meat and maligning certain vegan ingredients and making the statement that the ...majority of vegans she knows are unhealthy. Lastly, it was OK with having me feel like a 2nd class citizen in her class. I had never been made to feel so bad in a class (well, maybe 7th grade French).

Havens Kitchen Wedding: The space is incredibly beautiful without being stuffy or formal, it feels like a home. HK has an incredible chef and culinary team, plus beautiful dishes, linens, barware and even some fresh seasonal florals. Because of this, we didn’t have agonize about bringing in every element. Working with Halle was a dream, she went above and beyond to help us make choices that would suit us and both families. She helped us accommodate every guests needs, carve out a special spot for our ceremony, integrate elements of our cultures, and beyond. The big day was seamless for us and our families, and we were able to thoroughly enjoy every moment. Having all of this right in the heart of Chelsea made it so easy for our guests to arrive and depart, plus it means we can visit our special spot anytime. I would recommend the team and turnkey space to any pair looking for an intimate food focused venue in the heart of NYC.
