Very wonderful experience. Mr. Chen my driving teacher was patient, gentle and fabulous. He taught me to parallel park in a very simple way and helped me brush up my driving skills gently and ease-fully. He is a wonderful driving teacher. I also enjoyed dealing with Miss Perry and Andy who were always ready to get me extra classes if needed, call and confirm timings. They were very efficient and caring. One word to summarise - Caring. This is a caring, professional school where you can enjoy the day and also learn driving ease-fully and easily. I highly recommend this school! Thank you everyone for a beautiful experience.

Coach Lee is very patient and professional! He doesn’t speak English that much but he knows what the examiner wants to see during the road test. Pointed out my mistakes and helped me to correct them. Also taught me some important “tricks” for the test. Passed the test at first try! People work in the office are very friendly and responsible as well!

I didn’t have any driving experience, but passed my driving test the first time! Thanks Instructor Chen and Instructor Li. They are super patient and knowledgeable. The staff in the driving school are nice and very helpful. I would recommend the school to any of my friends.

I just called the number to make appointments for my first 4 classes. This call saves me 1 trip! The lady is super nice. We communicated in Mandarin. She speaks Cantonese and English as well. She also offered me a free class.

Highly recommend Mr. Chen as a driving instructor, passed my test today all thanks to him! I had a horrible experience with another instructor so know how important it is to have a good instructor. Mr Chen is always patient and informative and answered all my questions. Would highly recommend taking lessons with him.

I drove before in another country but had to refresh my driving skills. Instructor Chen gave me very useful advices. Only needed one test to pass thank to him! And their price is very reasonable.

The office staff was extremely nice and helpful in catering to my needs in driving. Instructor Chen taught me the necessary skills to pass the road test and drive safe on the road.

I started with another driving school and got terrible experiences and developed bad practices for driving. I am lucky enough to meet Mr Chen, who is extremely patient, willing to answer the questions and explain the logic behind the signs/rules. Some practices he taught me impressed the examiner. As a person who is a bit afraid of speed and never thought of driving, I really appreciate his patience of helping me practice again and again. The office stuff are nice as well: they sent good notices a day before classes, warm and encouraging, and very accommodating. Highly recommended.

My daughter just passed her first road test this morning. Thanks to Cannel Driving School. She had no former driving experience and took a 15-classes package, which included both Mr. Chen and Mr. Huo as her instructors, who are totally in different teaching styles. Both instructors are excellent and experienced. No good or bad, but pick the one whos suitable to you. My child learnt from both of them and get it.Last, good instructions plus lucks made her succeed. Highly recommend this school and give it a try!

Passed my test today! Thank you Canal driving school. I took classes from both Mr Huo and Mr Chen. Mr Chen took me to test. He is very nice and tells you all the details that needs to know. Mr Huo is sharp and always tell you what you did wrong. Highly recommend!

Great school. Both instructors I had were good. I particularly recommend this school if you are an expat in the US .They will provide the quickest way of getting you on the roads here and all for a reasonable price.

I took 10 lessons with mr. Huo and passed the test from the first try. He doesn’t speak much, only gives the valuable info, which I appreciated. He also taught me the easy way of parallel parking! And if you can drive in Chinatown, you can drive anywhere :) and the school is cheap.

My teacher was Huo I think. Awesome teacher, we had a lot of fun. I almost miss the school.Anyway I took the license in a month, failed two road tests and third try I got it. All within a month in July.Thank you for everything!

The driving instructor is very friendly but spoke very little amount of english. However, since I understood Chinese I was able to understand majority of the advice that was given to me. Took 16 lessons and was able to pass the road test.

I cant believe this school has 4.6 stars/5.Tu put it simply :If you dont understand chinese dont choose this school.If you want to pass your road test easily dont choose this school.Instructors (whoever they are) dont teach you how to pass the test. They might teach you how to drive a bit at least but the DMV road test doesnt really care about knowing how to turn left or right, its about processes.Most of the candidates i know from this school (95%) failed their road test. Ive seen at least 7 candidates failing twice with this school and at least 3 failing 3 three times. The candidates i encountered with this school were failing continuously their road test but of course the school will tell you that its not their fault...The very minority of them who passed must be the ones leaving reviews....

Took 14 classes with instructor Hsuo then last two with Chen. Both were great, passed first time. Recommended two friends there, and they both passed as well. Highly recommended. Learned a lot, did all my mistakes during the classes but never got yelled and fully prepared during test day.

This is the place to go to if you want to learn the proper way to drive. The instructors give excellent feedback about what you need to improve on and what to look out for on the road. Definitely worth the money.

Mr Chen is the most fabulous instructor, very nice, polite, patient, skilled. I would like to recommend him to my friends who want to learn driving. Also I aced my road test at my first time.

I am not sure the review was real. I went overthere and they force me to pay cash for 280. I told them, I dont have cash. I need to pay with my cc. They dont want. Very strange.

I took 20 lessons altogether with Canal Driving School. The first 5 with Instructor Chen who is gentle and nice. The left 15 I took with Instructor Huo, he is strict, but thats the greatest part! I got to train myself with better turns, better observation and judgement! Thank for all your help!😊

Took 20 Lesson. Jennifer was very helpful. Help me schedule all my lesson. The driver instructor I pick was Mr. Chen. First day he drove me near Williamsburg Bridge. He ask me have I ever drive before. I told him I used to play a lot of driving video games. He said. Ok. Get in to the driver seat. Mr. Chen is cool. If I screw up he doesnt yell at me are anything. He just press the brakes and said No good. I learn a lot from him. He does the handle + curb trick for parallel park. Once you get the hand of it and understand that you need to turn more when the handle is over the curb. You will get the idea some times it is too much or too little. So, now you need to learn how to compensate. Once you master that. You will park like a pro. Pass my driving test at Red Hook. Be warned: At Red Hook road test. The day(Dec 5th, 2017.) I took it at Bay street. The yellow line isnt there. It was a dotted white line, and the other side is one long white line. If you pass over any of those white line or dotted white line you FAIL. One of the 2 girls I went with didnt know, and she fail.Good Luck to you all. Yes, I recommend this place to my friends.
