The instructor was very friendly and gave me lots of helpful tips. He corrected my turning at intersections and taught me how to turn my wheels more smoothly. He also taught me more than what’s required for the road test, like how to watch out for dangerous drivers and practical tips for different driving situations. Highly recommended.

After failing the test for three times, I finally decided to change an instructor and found Aubrey, who is a life-saver to say the least. He taught me the basic of how a car actually works and actually explained to me why I shoudnt do some of the things that Ive been doing all along. While Aubrey is a cautious and very responsible driving, he is nevertheless willing to take me on the highway to practice during my early stage of the driving course, something that none of my other driving even thought about doing. In fact, I know a lot of people having to drive on the highway for the first time after they get the license. Most importantly, Aubrey is great and super easy to get along with.. I am still not tired of him after stucking in a car for more than 20 hours together. Gaining a license has granted me real liberations and freed myself to travel from the galaxy to New Jersey. but now I am gonna drive to greg house first...so thank you Aubrey

May 24th I emailed and heard back from Aubrey straight away.May 25th I did their online zoom 5hr class which was convenient and informative and didnt drag like I thought it might.June 7th..today..passed my test at first time after having had a few lessons with Aubrey in the meantime.5* for every part of my experience.

It seems like a scam once signed up. Never getting proper communication when I did get a response it was days later. Last response I got was night before 5 hour online course and was told I was getting link sent to me shortly. Next day still nothing. I am an hour from my daughters course and still nothing . Very unprofessional !!! and I am trying to deal with this while I am at work.

I did my 5 hour course with Aubrey and it was a great experience. Very informative and very entertaining. There was room for plenty of questions and Aubrey was 100 percent real about the importance of the rules of the law when it comes to driving. I would recommend this course with Aubrey any day. He’s much appreciated!

If youre looking around for a driving school, stop looking! Aubrey is the greatest. I took the 5-hour class with Drivetrain, then a 90 minute lesson right before I took the road test. Aubrey helped me understand exactly how to be successful on the test and I passed with flying colors. Hes also so funny and friendly and made the whole process actually enjoyable! Exceeded all expectations!

Very disappointed. They are not helpful at all doesnt even answer your calls. They also give you false information saying that you would receive your certificate about 5 days and its been over 10 days I still havent received it. And the fact that they dont even answer your calls to solve your problem is a no for me👎🏽.

Went with Aubrey for a 1 hour driving lesson and the test straight after. Passed with a perfect score! Don’t think I would have without Aubrey - he was very informative and patient, going thru all the manoeuvres step-by-step. I was an experienced driver from the UK and developed a lot of bad habits through the years. Aubrey did a great job in teaching me the correct way of doing things stateside. Would 100% recommend!

Aubrey was so nice during all of my classes and super patient with new drivers. I didn’t even know how to ride a bike before, but now I officially have my license! Honestly, the tips that he gave were super useful and definitely are going to help you with your test or just keep you safe while daily driving! I was so nervous before my test but I still passed with ease since I had a lot of practice lessons with Aubrey beforehand. I went to 2 other driving schools and took the test and failed. I went to this new drivetrain school and the teacher made any errors of mine really easy to fix in clear easy to understand steps. The teacher is laid back and very easy to understand. I passed the test this time with only a few lessons! Great $ spent!! I now have a license! :)

Today I took my test and passed on my first try. At first I did not know how to drive at all and in a few weeks Aubrey showed me the easiest way to park, turn, and how to drive on a highway. I definitely recommend practicing with Aubrey because he is very nice and makes you feel comfortable. I was very nervous at first but learning from Aubrey made my fear of driving go away. Aubrey was fantastic. Well my driving was too :)I took the 5 hour class with him. I showed up kicking and screaming -dreading every minute I was about to waste. I left in good mood, entertained, and educated. Right on! I called Aubrey two weeks later, set up a training and car for the road test. Test day- I drove; Aubrey evaluates me. He helped correct my lax driving skills, eased the butterflies out of my stomach and went to the test. Aubrey prepped me one last time, wished me good luck, and I nailed it. Great experience!Coming from Europe I had to get an American driving licence.Attended the 5hrs pre-licensing course, took a couple of driving lessons and rented the car for my exam: everything helped me to come prepared to the exams, they are really able to make you comfortable anticipating what will happen at the exams, so you have no bad surprises when it comes to such a potentially stressful moment.Super friendly staff that makes you feel at home and teaches with a friendly approach.Really recommended!!!

I had an excellent experience with this school. I took the 5 hour class with yakop and he taught very clearly. I hadn’t driven in 15 years and was in need of extra driving classes. Aubrey is amazing and makes sure that you will be ready for your road test as well as for driving in real life.

I had a great experience learning with Nicole, and would definitely recommend working with her. Very flexible about scheduling times, works around whatever schedule you have, and makes taking lessons as easy as possible. Nikki was super encouraging, and helped prepare me for my driving test. After around 7 lessons (and some prior driving experience), I felt comfortable to take my test. Great person to drive with as a first-time driver, or as someone who wants to become accustomed to NYC driving. Even made me feel calm and prepared on test day!

Great school! Before taking classes here I had no prior driving experience. I practiced with Aubrey 2 hours a week for 8 weeks, and I passed my test on the first try!

Great place to drive. Had my license before in VA and GA but thought I wouldn’t need it in NYC so let it expire. Then an emergency came up and I had to be prepared to drive when I went home to visit family. Was so nervous but they got me into a 5hr class with Yakub the day I got my permit on a Friday and the next Friday had one lesson with Aubrey to get used to the car and got tips for the road test and passed. 7 days from permit to licensing all thanks to this place. Highly recommended. It was so painless. Thanks Yakub and Aubrey!

Aubrey is always on-time, vigilant, patient, and personable. He tells you on the first day that he wont let you crash (since the car isnt made of Nerf), and you will believe it when you notice that he sees everything you dont see. Hell teach you everything you need to know; you dont need to read any materials. You can control the lessons - if there are any skills that you want to focus on, hell take you somewhere to practice them. Aubrey is easy to talk to, knowledgeable about New York City, and will tell you as many stories as you want to hear. I highly recommend Drivetrain Driving School.

Drivetrain Driving School is easily the best driving school in NYC.Before coming to Drivetrain I had very little driving experience, having only driven with family on and off for almost two years.Aubrey of Drivetrain was very accommodating to my needs, as I was moving to Virginia for work, and I needed to obtain my license within 1.5 months of beginning my lessons with them. Not only was he able to schedule me a road test as soon as possible, but was able to help me get my driving to where it needed to be. Aubrey was able to pinpoint all of my bad habits, and give me the mindset I needed to fix it all up.His co-worker Peter, was whom took over my lessons after a few weeks, and Peter was an amazing instructor. Learning to drive later in life was a nerve-wracking prospect for me right from the start. Failing the driving tests certainly did not help my confidence. The instructors I worked with prior to coming to Drive Train were not very patient around my nervousness nor did they really take the time to help me apply the rules of the manual to real driving in a way that made sense.Enter Drive Train and Aubrey...first of all, he is a really, really nice person. Super patient, funny AND knowledgeable, always on time, and the consummate professional. I used to joke with him that he was the “driving whisperer”  . He will explain the rules of the road in English, not in the confusing language of the manual. He will make it applicable to your safety, to the safety of others, which will make it stick in your mind and in turn will make you a better, SAFER, more confident driver. He will make you practice your weaknesses until they no longer exist or until at least they are SO much better that you WILL pass your test. I just did! And I owe it to all the pointers, patience, and support of Aubrey and Drive Train. If you are a nervous driver, or have not been able to pass the test due to nerves, or if you are a new driver who wants to pass on the first try...this is the school and the instructor for you.

My experience with Drive Train was great. On top of the required videos at pre-licensing class, Aubrey also gave a lot of useful tips on safe and correct driving, which help a lot to pass the test. I hold a driving license of a different country, but I also took a 1.5-hour class ahead of the driving test. It was great, felt very confident after that. More importantly, I do not think I would have passed, unless I took it. Highly recommended overall.

Passed my road test today, first time. Aubrey was my instructor and he was great. I drove in Ireland for ten years before so it was a challenge to adjust to driving on the opposite side of the road and car but Aubrey was a great help. Highly recommended.

Ive been driving for 17 years in Europe and needed to get a NY license. Had just 3 lessons with Aubrey and passed the test easily with the first try. He is very professional and helped me to get rid all the bad habits I have developed over the years and adapt to the NYC driving laws, which is very important if you want to pass the test. It would have been impossible otherwise. Highly recommended not just for passing the test but also for learning good skills for safe and responsible driving that you will use for the rest of your life!!!

I went to drivetrain for the 5 hour class, 3 lessons and rented the car for the road test. Aubrey was a brilliant instructor. While informative, the 5 hour class was also entertaining because Aubrey has a great ability to engage the students. For our 3 drivings lessons he covered every aspect of the road test, and told me areas where I needed to improve. On the day of the test I was well prepared and passed comfortably. I can’t recommend this school and Aubrey any higher.

Overall, my experience with Drivetrain Driving School was great. From the 5-hr course at the Manhattan office, to the individual driving lessons, everything was excellent. I passed my New York State road test while slightly snowing, and that was because of the confidence I gained with such training.
