I did my first Muay Thai class at Evolution today. Cary, who was my instructor, was patient, knowledgeable, and friendly. We worked a lot on kicks, and he introduced me to knees at the end of the session. Walking in, I had never thrown a kick in my life (maybe besides soccer). And by the end, I was kicking pads and heavy bag with very decent form.I definitely will come back to Evolution. Any beginner thinking of trying Muay Thai should not hesitate to come to this gym. Everyone here is welcoming.

I only did around 8 classes at Evolution before I accepted a job offer in Miami.During my time there, I felt so welcomed, enjoyed Brandons teaching style and the culture he had promoted so much.It doesnt matter if youre a beginner or a pro, everyone will treat you with respect here and you will learn proper Muay Thai technique in every session.I have to reiterate, this is not a BS workout class - you are actually learning real Muay Thai and it is fantastic. You get a real sense of achievement learning a true martial art rather than doing heavy bag and some burpees like at those chains.Anyway... I want to thank Brandon for getting me hooked on the sport and I look forward to rejoining Evolution when I invariably move back to NY.

I started training at this Facility because I was looking for a top notch Muay Thai program in the City. Not only are the classes great, but its an affordable gym with a flexible schedule. The community is great and Evolution is always evolving. They now offer Judo, Grappling, Conditioning, and Wrestling classes with world class coaches. Brandon Levi is the head coach and he teaches most of the Muay Thai classes. He is very detailed and gives individual attention to everyone. If you are interested in coming here for the first time you can try a One Day Pass which is FREE. Most people take classes back to back on their first day.

Cant say enough good things about it. Terrific instruction. Terrific people. Wonderful gym.Im not sure how Brandon does it, but hes created an atmosphere that is at the same time very serious and professional but also relaxed and fun.Its great for people of all levels, but perhaps particularly good for beginners. Its a very supportive environment where people (like me) with no previous martial arts experience can learn.Again, cant say enough good things and recommend it highly!

As a child I was always attracted to martial arts but no art caught me like Muay Thai, at this gym not only was I welcomed by the staff, Brandon and members of the gym itself I also felt like I belonged there, the instructors are very humorous which helped me get through the intense workouts and drills. After about a month of training here I noticed significant improvements in my stamina, endurance and agility. If you are someone looking for a new home that will make you feel like a total badass then this is the place for you!

Evolution is a great gym with top notch training but without all the ego and price that usually comes with it.Beginner classes are a great workout and good for all levels. Kru Brandon makes sure to critique everyone while their training to really help them improve. Advanced students are friendly and always ready to help as well. The gym has a great relaxed atmosphere and good community. Its great for everyone, whether youre just looking for a good workout or want to start fighting professionally.

Before coming to Evolution I had some very unpleasant Muay Thai training experience: a few years ago my boyfriend dragged me to the gym and started the training but it didnt last long :-(. In fall 2014 I decided to give it another try and Evolution proved my 2nd time is totally a charm!!!Brandon is a very GREAT coach, no, I take it back, BEST COACH EVER! His class is not only informative but so much fun you will feel the 1 hour class is not enough time to learn and enjoy! All the members there are very tough which I think its a great thing for a martial art gym because you can only improve yourself when you are surrounded by GREAT PEOPLE! If you dont have any previous Muay Thai experience, the first few classes may be a little rough for you since everyone there is so good. However, DO NOT get discouraged by it! Just make sure to tell your partners you are new, and everyone, I mean really, EVERYONE, is nice and patient to show you how to properly hold pads, correct your technique, advise you what to work on, and all. Once you get the hang of it, you wouldnt wished you had better training partners to be with! And the best part, you get tougher and tougher each day! There are other coaches Ive taken classes with like Will, Jimmy, Justin, Adel and Rocky, they are all awesome coaches! They all have different teaching styles and you always learn different things, and see things from different perspectives when you take classes with a new coach.

Whether it be preparing for competition, physical fitness or self-defense, Evolution Muay Thai NYC is as absolutely good as it gets. In addition to being an unbelievably friendly and outgoing individual, Kru Brandon possesses an inordinate amount of knowledge about the sport, and he goes out of his way to make sure that everyone participating feels included in his instruction. The gym itself is a completely judgment-free zone; regardless of your experience, all are welcome and everyone in the class is overwhelmingly positive. You would be hard pressed to find a better Martial Arts gym than Evolution Muay Thai NYC.

Awesome striking, wrestling and grappling instruction that focuses on making everyone improve regardless if theyre beginners or competitors. Ive seen folks who cant differentiate their left side from their right side improve within a short amount of time training here. Classes are physically intense while providing a lot of emphasis on proper technique. Everyones friendly and willing to help each other get better as well. Ive been here since 2011 and I love it.

Ive been visiting Evolution for about four years now, and I couldnt be happier. Before Evolution I trained at another local gym that cant even be compared to this place. Kru Brandon is extremely knowledgeable and cares about all his students. Classes are always level appropriate and friendly. The overall atmosphere is awesome too, never too serious but everyone is there to get better. Still you never feel pressured to perform above your comfort level, while still being encouraged to improve. The facilities themselves are always clean, and the staff is always concerned about members health. They take many precautions to make sure you are unlikely to catch any skin infections. Really happy with this place, and looking forward to many, many more great years with Evolution.

One of the best Muay Thai facility Ive even been to! The staff is very helpful and respectful even if you have no experience at all! They offer complimentary class if you want to try to train here! They have little fitness zone ! They have amazing schedule with different classes - jiu-jitsu, mma , muay thai & etc. The only downside is that there is no showers and the price is pretty high ($220 monthly)!

Having never trained in any type of kickboxing or combat sports before, both the instructors as well as the other students were really patient and helpful. The facilities are clean and they take hygiene very seriously. Classes are usually small enough that the instructors can walk around and give you the attention you need to improve.

Enjoyed training with the best fighters. I felt like I learned quite a bit of the basics during my short time with Evolution in the summer. For me, the beginner classes werent too demanding in terms of cardio intensity, and that might have to do with the nature of the classes (many students, one instructor, beginner level, focused on learning technique rather than physical conditioning). They also offer advance level classes in Muay Thai, so Im sure if one were train consistently and pick up Muay Thai very quickly, they could get a much more challenging workout with more advance classes and personal training within a few months.

Evolution Muay Thai in NYC is incredible. If you are just starting or an advanced fighter this gym is the place. The instructors are great, the gym offers a lot of classes, the classes are fun, prices are reasonable. You can go there to get into shape, have fun or improve your muay thai or BJJ. Very impressed. I trained at some excellent gyms in Vegas, I had high expectations and Evolution met them. I recommend to anyone, all skill levels, all ages. Well done.

Brandon Levi has fostered a friendly, warm, and welcoming environment along with a meticulous approach to training, fighting, and self-defense!If youre looking at reviews, then youre probably searching for a place to train. Evolution Muay Thai is an absolute gem of a gym. The Muay Thai instruction is top-notch and one of the best schools in NYC to train in the art of 8 limbs.Always evolving - Evolution Muay Thai also has Judo, Wrestling, and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu classes, which runs the full gamut of the skills comprising MMA. Ive taken each of these classes and can say all the instructors are phenomenal and focused on the growth & development of the student. But dont take my word for it. Come by and try it out yourself!

Ive been going to EMT for over 3 years and love it. Its like a second home to me. This is a mom-n-pop gym, and the staff is very welcoming and knowledgeable. No corporate BS here: there are no initiation, cancellation, or any other fees other than the drop-in or monthly dues. The drop in and monthly membership rates are probably the best in NYC. Ive trained at a handful of gyms and think the rates at EMT are the lowest youre going to find. The fight team that Kru Brandon Levi has put together is renowned in NYC and around the country, having won multiple State, national, and international titles in amateur and professional divisions. If you want to learn muay thai, or even if youre looking for a new gym to train, then Evolution Muay is the best youre going to find.

Evolution Muay Thai is the real deal. Brandon and his team are superb! You get top notch training all while surrounded by a positive and supportive energy from the staff and members. I immediately signed up after my first free trial class. I was a little apprehensive to try something like this thinking that my girly girl esthetic would be met with rejection, but my experience couldnt have been more inclusive and welcoming. Brandon is extremely attentive and especially supportive to newcomers. No one makes you feel like you dont belong.Evolution Muay Thai has completely reshaped the way that I used to view my physical ability. Not only did I begin to see changes in my body by the 3rd class, but I can feel change and improvement in my overall technique with every class. Brandon and his team will challenge you to perform your best - even if you arent sure what that is...theyll help you find it. Muay Thai brings a level of focus and concentration that rivals my yoga and meditation practice. I had concerns that it would disrupt my zen, but again I have been pleasantly surprised.Never have I been more motivated to commit to an exercise program like I have with the Evolution Muay Thai program. I get the work out of my life (seriously, I drip sweat which Im not used to because Im not a huge sweater) while having fun - what more could you ask for? If youre looking for a small class size, Id recommend the late night 8:30 pm classes during the weekday. During this time youll get tons of individual attention by wonderful teachers (Will, Jimmy, Adel, Chris, ...).Whether youre looking for a new outlet, a good workout, new hobby, or serious MMA training, Evolution Muay Thai has it all for you. I recommend Evolution without reservation.

It is one of the best muay thai gym in NYC. They have been adding up more Jujitsu, wrestling and judo classes lately to proceed as a MMA gym. Brandon, the owner of Evolution Muay Thai, would teach you from basic to advance Muay Thai skills. He may fart too much in the gym but what can you do? He is a funny guy to train with. Also, other faculty members are always willing to help you out. If you are a college student, you will get a discount and it is relatively close to many colleges in nyc such as NYU, Baruch, Pace, FIT and etc.

Best martial arts community you could ask for. People love being here, they support each other, and socialize together. Not only is it a great value for martial arts instruction with both muay thai and brazilian jiu jitsu, but its a place with that something special: real community. The crowd ranges from the hardcore gym experts to the casual enthusiast. People come for many reasons: to get fit, to learn something, to hang out with friends. Its the perfect blend between serious martial arts and fun learning experience. That said, the training is tough and youll definitely feel sore after your first time. Its a great workout and youll learn how to knock someone out. Lots of the people who train and teach here fight as amateurs or professionals, so you know the skills are practical. If youre serious about it and put the time in you too can be a fighter, but nobody is forced to go that route.Definitely recommend. The first class is free, so you can always try it and see if you like it before you join.
