BRIC gives a personal touch and really cares about students in their summer programs. Everyone from BRIC was friendly and personable and went above and beyond in placing me at an internship in China. I always felt safe and I had multiple contacts from BRIC whom I felt comfortable going to for help or suggestions if I needed it. They genuinely cared about my adaptation to the culture and my overall well-being throughout the entire time I was there. They personalized my lodging and accommodations - placing me with others my age and with similar interests, and in a location that is near downtown and with a great social life (great for me as a social college student). On the day I arrived, a member from BRIC personally met me and helped me move in and get settled. Throughout the program, BRIC frequently checked in with me on how the internship was going and how I liked the life there and gave me options to switch housing if I wanted to, etc. At the end of the internship, I met with a member from BRIC again and she gave me a parting gift and encouraged me to keep in touch. BRIC truly puts the students first and genuinely cares about them and I look forward to working with them again in the future!

Using BRIC was by far the best experience I have had learning a language. I spent several months learning mandarin in preparation for a trip to China. By the time I left on my trip I felt confident I could manage myself and speak to the locals. Having the skills to start a conversation with the locals improved my mandarin even more and learning the language shows a level of respect to the people and their culture. The most meaningful take-away from the whole experience was that, by learning another language, I was able to think through a different lens. I spoke and understood in their context instead of mine. BRIC prepared me to learn more about myself, how Chinese culture works, and how to think in a completely different way. I was able to speak one-on-one with a timely, professional, and knowledgeable native speaker. The video chat allowed me to see how she coupled expressions with statements, how she annunciated, and what other body language was used. The platform is incredible easy to work with and very useful for sharing materials. The instructors take the time to make sure you understand the language, but also the culture and meaning behind it. Like I said before, BRIC was by far the best I have encountered and by teaching to several forms of learning styles at the same time I felt completely immersed in my training. I would absolutely recommend BRIC!

This summer, I had the privilege of interning at BRIC Language System. Ryan McMunn, founder and CEO, is extremely passionate, hard working and open-minded. The office is run by people who certainly practice what they preach and have enthusiasm for languages and cultures. BRIC Language Systems was an amazing way to learn basic Mandarin before my trip to China. My tutor Iris, was very knowledgeable and helpful and used a very simple method for teaching. I have been taking Portuguese classes online via BRIC Language and highly recommend them. As a somewhat veteran of online language learning, I have used many online tutors over the years. Georgia, based in São Paulo, is among the best of whom I have had the pleasure of learning from. She quickly assessed my level and tailored each class to improve specific areas. Shes clear, empathetic, and patient. Moreover, shes a fun person! My homework assignments are not forced exercises from a textbook, rather they are about topics in which Im interested (weve a similar taste in movies which is often discussed with hilarious results).Regarding the BRIC Language System, I was pleasantly surprised when I found out they use WebEx to conduct the classes. As Im familiar with the program through work, it was a quick and easy start, and should be the same for less experienced users. Having a video recording of each class is extremely beneficial because it gives you a sense of what you sound like in normal conversation, and provides the opportunity to discover areas for improvement. Regarding admin, it was a very simple process to sign up for a block of hours and schedule each class. Price is comparable to many other online tutors, so the value from having experienced teachers and a simple administrative method is superb. Overall, I highly recommend BRIC Language Systems!

I work for a company that has branches in Latin America and I decided to study Spanish to better relate professionally. I took Spanish classes with BRIC and I really liked the school method, it has helped me a lot at work.

Portuguese lessons through BRIC Language Systems were a huge asset in my preparation for my recent trip to Brazil. Having a real-time conversation with an instructor made it easier to personalize the learning experience, giving focus to pronunciation. My instructor, Natasha, found fun ways to incorporate the Brazilian culture in addition to the language through videos, menus, and pictures. BRICs online platform made me feel as if I was in the classroom with my peers from the comfort of my home.

It was a pleasure collaborating with BRIC Language Systems to provide Portuguese lessons to students in a class that I taught that included a 10-day trip to Brazil. The students that took the BRIC Language Systems lessons were better prepared to communicate while traveling in Brazil, and they enjoyed the rapport that they were able to build with their language instructor. The web-based learning platform gives students the flexibility to take the lessons wherever they have an internet connection, while also still giving them personalized interaction with a teacher. I plan on using them again in the future - great product.
