2017-2018 school year was a great year for my daughter to start school!! Im glad she was able to attend this school and will always be supported to it. Her teacher Mrs. Pimentel was by far the greatest teacher she should receive an award for her amazing way to teach children and to understand each one of them unique way of learning, also for always keep us parents aware of our children development; wish that she could teach first grade this coming year but I cant be selfish and understand others needs her as well.

There has been many reviews about RCHC. First I would like to start off with the great opportunities that are offered at this school. Students who excel in core classes are rewarded with field trips that are beneficial to students. The principal at this school is very interactive with the students an has a positive mind set for the student attending Renaissance.

My son has attended this school since kindergarten, he is now in second grade. The best year was kindergarten. Every year it gets worse and worse. The open house this year was chaotic, Very disorganized. Last year the kids didn’t receive agenda till they were well into September. The whole reason that i chose this school was for the small classroom sizes, and parent involvement with the school they preached personal learning plans for each student. I have yet to hear about any of that. Oh wait... they are still being worked on. This year i have received very little communication from my son teacher. For the past 2 school year I received weekly newsletter about what was going on in my childs classroom, I’ve received absolutely none this year. I called the school to talk to the teacher.... I received one newsletter after that phone call and i have seen no more after that. The school has become very inconsistent and alot of the veteran parents that have had there students there for years are now taking them out. I feel like the quality of the school has gone down. They admitted way to many students this year. The whole point of the small classroom sizes is so that the teachers can focus more on individually helping students. The school is over crowded now. There is a reason for the lottery for the school. The exclusivity of this school is no longer. The care line tells it all. Ridiculous this year.

I would like to start this off by saying I loved this school but if I said that it would be a lie. Some teachers were amazing and helpful and some didnt even know what they were doing. It seams like they were found on craigslist Im not saying this is a horrible school but it is an opinion be careful if your switching schools in middle school year they do classes differently then other OCPS school I have had a rocky experience there but I would not recommend this school P.S they do not keep student confidentiality.

I have been here for 7-8 grade and this school is no good. You cant even get a good math teacher and they just hire whoever they see it looks like. Some Teachers are good some are bad but those 4 years of my life in that school was bad. You dont have that much freedom and warning to you parents out there reading this you get no help whatsoever. The only thing that I can say good about this school is that there are no bullies and I am happy for that. But other than that please dont enroll you child in this school please find a better school and save a life.

This is by far the worst school and my child had a teacher who was terminated right after the school year ... The principal Mr Acosta may be the worse principal ive ever experienced... And doesnt care about the students and actually yelled at my child for no reason and is more of a dictator then actual principal ... They hire teachers who should not be teachers !!! Please I repeat do not let your child attend this school

My son Giovanni has been very happy since attending this school since last year. I have had great communication with teachers especially Mrs. Medina-Garcia she really cares about the children. Mr. De La Fuentes and the principal Mr. Acosta has done and accomplish many changes in the school that I am happy with. The only thing I would LOVE them to be able to change is the grading and be able to extend the k-8 to 1st grade to 12th grade would be a blessing. Thank you from Diaz and Montalvo family.

As campus Principal, I am happy to announce that this year based on preliminary FSA data we may become an A rated campus. My heartfelt gratitude goes to our 1200 students in K to 8th who work so hard to achieve this milestone. Big shout out to our EOCs Algebra 1 team with a 95% passing rate, our Geometry team with a 100% passing rate and our Biology team with a 90% passing rate. We are well on our way to becoming a high achievement - high academic growth school campus.

Part 2Renaissance Charter School Hunters Creek is a preeminent school in regards to education. The teachers there provide analytical, high level lessons for the students. The students are pushed vigorously to become better educated and acquainted. Only the best is wanted. It is ensured that the school provides materials needed to help students develop and flourish into intellectual individuals. In addition to its educational commend, this school offers high school credits for middle school students to obtain. This school, however, does not have a preeminent financial support for a variety of extracurricular clubs and electives. A small amount of clubs are existent, and the electives provided are ones certain students would not sincerely take interest in. However, I cannot speak for the following school year. It is possible that the school might provide new opportunities for both divisions of education. To fully appreciate your experience, I do suggest engaging in a club that interests you as the student (also keep in mind there are other after school programs the school sponsors such as the Hunters Creek soccer team and Karate- in which the karate building is in the same complex of the school).Rewarding opportunities such as field trips happen about twice at the end of the year. With this being said, more incentives should be established for the hard work of all students. Whether it be a fun, well-deserved break, an interactive and themed dance decided by the students, school spirit night at a food chain, movie night/ throwback tv shows night (separated by elementary and middle school), food truck at lunch, etc. Middle school students especially are often neglected opportunity wise. Elementary school acquires more fun activities for the students. Each grade level in middle school should have a trip planned for themselves, primarily eighth grade as they have the most rigorous exams and pressure placed upon them. Unfortunately, however, in previous years eighth grade had to share their last moments together in a shared field trip with certain seventh graders. Another example of inequality and neglection includes when the Shakespeare Club performed in a theater, while the main Drama Club was intended to perform in a cafeteria. The Shakespeare Clubs performance and opportunity to perform at a theater was supported predominately by the principal and certain staff. The Drama Club was insignificant apparently and was not provided the same opportunity. The administration in the school can sometimes be unhelpful. This statement does not apply to certain individuals, but for the predominance of the team. As a student, the more you show up to the office, the more you are perceived (and often treated) as an annoyance. Most of your questions cannot be answered, and you are directed to Mr.Acosta, who is constantly in a meeting. Thus, your question or concern will stay unanswered for a while. As an alumni of the school, I am often given a hard time solely just to visit some of my teachers. I cannot blame them, considering events that have occurred. However, you would expect someone from administration to acknowledge you and find some way to let you in. In regards to the medical aspect, there should be two nurses- one for elementary and one for middle school. This will solve numerous problems, and will allow students to be tended to in a much more simplistic manner. To emphasize additionally on the education factor, the teachers there are some of the best. You will form a bond with some of your teachers. They support you and are always there to help you with anything. One of the best English teachers I ever had in eighth grade is an excellent example of this. After reading this, consider enrolling your child(ren) in this school. The education is exceptional and hard to find somewhere else.At the end of the day, despite the school’s size, it’s sense of unity and attachment make it quite an incredible experience.

Worse school and very bad organization, there is no supervision in the lunch area, the school director (who has only 5 months there) is very rude and does not know how to put order in the institution, has no experience in the management of a school, he believes he knows about the rules and makes decisions that harm the children. Is the worst decision to put your children in that school. They call you from school every day if your child has a different process than not being like a robot without moving. They do not have pedagogy to guide, train children, since the smallest are treated as adults, severe penalties for children of 5 years. Very dangerous

This school has had its ups and downs which is normal because every school goes through things. However this school has improved a lot the last 2 years , and for some kids this might not be the ‘ideal’ school for them because they want more “freedom” that other public schools offer which is a reason why kids backlash about rchc. RCHC brings more security to students and builds a good ground for the kids to get ready for highschool etc . Mr.acosta is a good principal and is working very hard to improve the mess that mrs.suarez left. He tries his best to interact with students and gives many chances to students who are doing below average and get into trouble. He also rewards those doing good in school. The administration in the office is also very kind and welcoming to students . Overall, this school is not bad like some reviews portray and students are very welcoming to new kids. This school isnt as bad as some reviews say , things said in the reviews are over dramatic. yes there might be trash teachers at times but every school deals with bad teachers. Every school has its problem. Thank you for your time :)

Sit down, grab a drink, this is going to be long. It all started attending my first year there. Everyone claims thats discovering that school was a blessing. The school literally steals money from people and those who attend and I have evidence. Back the first year they opened they did a fun run to help raise money for Astro-turf in the playground. They stated that more than enough money was raised to afford the brand new Astro-turf. It had taken them a few years to put it in due to them recklessly spending all the money and having to come up for it. Yes I understand that the ruling has switched from ms Suarez to mr acosta but it seems that it has only gotten worse. All four years I have attended this school it was almost heartbreaking seeing the teachers being replaced by unskilled and disrespectful teachers these past two years. Coincidentally, these are the same years mr acosta has been around. It is almost as if he recruited anybody at any work level, plopped a lesson planning team in front of them and told them to teach subjects that seems like they havent even learned yet. Now dont get me wrong, with some teachers it really isnt their fault for their false employment. Sure maybe they knew they were unprepared for the lessons to be taught, but they were probably desperate for a job as they would soon be living off the streets. But when it is in the teachers control, it is pretty nasty. The principal hired a teacher with a child molestation background knowingly. Whether it was an intentional charge or not, you never ever put children in a situation like that. The principal always seems to be gone in Texas or attending meeting which is partially normal duties but when he is present at the school, it isnt much of a difference. He has a television in his office that he streams football on all day and he seems to stay in his office with a mini fridge packed with food which is not helping his weight at all. When he does interact with the children he offers them so many things to get them on his side. You could call him fake. This man gathers children onto his side and decides to attack a singular student for minor mistakes. He has favoritism to the students he like/enjoys. If you do not show affection to him you are immediately either one of the children he goes against or you are treated like gum on the bottom of his penny loafers. There was also a teacher that goes by the name mr Jimenez who is very disrespectful to the students and tries his hardest to lower their self esteem. It was the day we were allowed to wear anything we pleased and my fellow classmate decided to wear a crop top. As that may or may not be a correct choice of clothing to wear in a school setting mr.jimenez felt the need to say to the girl, and I quote, you should change your shirt, I can see all of your calories. Mr.Acosta was notified of this incident and did nothing about it. The only way this man got fired was when a kid that had diabetes needed to check his cholesterol levels and was denied because the kid was going to miss his class diabetes is not in the hands of human beings it can be formed without notice and you are stuck with it forever. But what is heart breaking is that when it is out of your control and you are denied the help you need and you eventually pass out due to low blood sugar. The principal had only fired this man because he was afraid of the backlash he would receive from this incident. If there was no backlash, mr Jimenez wouldve stayed. But after all, it is your choice to send your child to this school but I felt I needed to spare some children from these hazardous conditions and situations. This review is not to put down anyone or anything, just to warn anyone planning to attend this school. Thank you for your time.

I was basically forced to withdraw my son out of that school after two weeks of enrollment because this two girls were fighting for him. Thats the story they told me. My son is a very good looking kid and theres always problems with girls. My son begged me to change him school because he wasnt progressing at his previous school. My son is 14 years old and his has never had any deciplins problems neither he got into fights, his record is clean. Hes and athletic kid that just wanted to have better grades and they never gave him a chance because of his looks. Mind you when I first try to enrolled him it was very odd that the principal kept mentioning his race (Black) but my son is also Puerto Rican, the principal kept saying that he didnt want the teachers to think he was a trouble maker because his huge come from Meadow Woods middle and his Moreno (black). It still hurts me because my son really wants the best for him and he ended back at the school he hates with a passion.

As school principal, I monitor comments and reviews as part of our process to analyze feedback that is both positive and negative. One trend that is very strong is that of individuals whove found our school to be rigorous in its demand to uphold the highest academic and behavior standards tend to withdraw their children and then turnaround and blame teachers and administrators for their own inability to adjust to a more structured environment and that is ok. What is not ok is to turn around and level false accusations against those who work so hard everyday to ensure that our students get the best education possible in the safest environment. In the meantime, we continue to grow and improve our academic and extracurricular programs. On the academics, we came within striking distance of a campuswide A grade. When segregated by elementary and middle we end up having and A middle school (with a 100 percent of students applying to high school IB programs being accepted) and a B elementary school. With a strong accelerated track in middle school weve now been able to move on to the next level and now offer Coding and Robotics programs and Chinese as a foreign language as precursory steps to establishing the world re known and prestigious Cambridge program. In elementary, we continue to focus on our second language acquisition programs to help students from the 50 different countries speaking 40 different languages who called RCHC home away from home. We also offer an outstanding performing arts program; one whose participants continue to make a name for thremselves in the entertainment industry. Many of our children actors are under contract with Disney, Nickelodeon, Fox and even MTV. These already successful young actors are joined by a group of talented students (5th to 8th graders) who most recently successfully put on stage at the Orlando Shakespeare Theater; A Mid-Summer Nights Dream. This same group of students finished the year with an average RIT score that place them at the high school seniors college level readiness level in Reading. Campuswide and within our Florida regions cohort, we achieved a 1st place academic achievement growth in Math amongst our 30 sister regional school and a 5th place in ELA for academic achievement growth amongst our 85 plus schools national interstate network of schools. Finally, my message to anyone reading any negative comments here is to come visit, interact with our awesome students, outstanding professors whove come to us from some of the best state and national universities and see for yourself all we have to offer here at RCHC. Like I said earlier, our school may not be the best fit for everyone if they are unwilling to adhere to strict discipline and high academic expectations but if you are, we would live for you all to come join our RCHC family. Go Warriors!!!!!

As I read too many bad reviews, I decided to write one. My son goes to this school since he was in 1st grade (this is his third year in RCHC). I have to say that his teachers had been great. His 1st grade teacher was awesome, it was her first year teaching and she couldnt be better (Ms. Murphy). I sure tell you that my son enjoyed a lot more 1st grade than he did Kindergarten.2nd grade was also great and his teacher was a very prepared one, certified and highly qualified (Mrs. T), he had to work really hard but believe me, when the time to have fun came they truly had a lot of fun. His current teacher is also an awesome teacher; highly qualified as well and veeeeeeeeery patient. For him being a young male teacher, I believe that he may actually have a lot more challenges than the rest of the female teachers and he is definitely great. (Mr. Jones)The only thing that I can suggest is that the kids have recess time maybe after lunch 20-25 minutes so they can have a break and relax a little bit and maybe better options for lunch meals. They have a lot of extracurricular activities such as baseball, soccer, karate, computer clubs, etc and I can tell you that my son loves all sports and have been in most of them and he had a lot of fun.The school is great, and dont forget they have only been around for three years. Theres gonna be mistakes (as long as they fix them, Im ok with that), theres gonna be good things and bad things, but also a lot of room to grow as a school and institution. People can tell you a lot of bad stuff but you need to understand that you can not please everybody, as for me, I have no complaints.
