I am no longer a student at CFLA but the tie that I spent there was amazing! Yes, it is a small space with a smaller-than-average student population, but that means that there is more one-on-one time with teacher and students. The teachers there truly do want their students to succeed and will offer after class help. If the student is struggling with something, they have after-school tutoring sessions so you can truly understand the curriculum. The school also encourages self-discovery so that you can not only understand how to be good in school and be prepared you the next stage of life after high school/ middle school, but also understand yourself and how to be your best self. I am very proud to say that this school and the people I met there are my second family.

All of these comments are so negative, Ive been at the school for a good five years as a student and yes we have ups and downs like any other school, but i promise that your education will not be altered, and we also HAVE A NEW AND WONDERFUL PRINCIPAL, our theater is great Ive been in both the recent plays, we also have ITS which is great for colleges to look at. plus we allow duel enrollment, we only have six periods so that we can focus more on our main subjects. there is a lot more to the school then most see, but i swear that parents will see changes in their childs leadership skills and their principles and values.

I have been going here since 6th grade, and have enjoyed it nearly the whole time. Wonderful school.

This school helps every student here possible no matter what the problem is. I would choose this school over any public school because they not only care about your education but they care for your parents and other family members. Meaning, some weekends they have a parent meet up with your child and sometimes siblings and they involve you with you parents and every time you go you become closer and closer with your parents. We also have a extra curriculum activity on Mondays and Tuesdays that you go to something called class meeting, so how this works is your whole grade goes and discuss one of the hyde words of the month. In my opinion, class meeting helps your student growth by having your child be more truthful and curious. In all this school helped me grow as a teen.

This is not a great school. They don’t record the kids grades correct. The principal is very racist. I would not recommend this school

Whoever said the principal is racist is absolutely ridiculous. I love CFLA, ran into a little issue last year with bullying and the principal and student director addressed it immediately. My oldest has been here since 6th grade, going into 9th this year and my other son went last year for 6th - I love the hyde method and the ways it has impacted my boys. Its a little small, but its personable, I know most of the teachers and staff and they really care about the kids. And they really focus on getting the kids ready for real life, exposing them to multiple career choices and helping with college prep. Youre doing it right CFLA. ❤

I have to say with so many shootings in the public schools I am so thankful I found CFLA! The school is always locked and a staff member is out front every morning to great the students. All students and staff know each other which is great. Every one is very nice/friendly and easy to talk to. I have 3 kids but only 2 of my kids go to this school. I wish I would have found this school when my oldest was still in school. This place would have made a huge difference on his life as it is for my 2 youngest. We have been part of the school for a year and a half and dont have any plans on leaving. Like every school you have students who will act up but the way they are disciplined is different and really makes the students and parents think and see things in a different way. They focus on character education. They have discovery every week where students get together in small groups and discuss different things. I personally love this because it gives students the opportunity to be heard, to open up, to be positive etc.. Public school students are just a number in the crowed. No one cares, they focus too much on test scores. I felt like my kids studied more for test than they actually did any real learning in the classrooms. Monthly school meetings at CFLA help parents stay involved in what is going on within the school and family weekends help build stronger families. All students get to be involved in a sport where in public schools there are so many students that your lucky if you make it to the 2nd try outs. Small improvements I think are needed is having a bigger building so the students can have their own indoor gym and a bigger van/bus for transportation to after school games. Some nice landscaping would be nice too :-)

Not one to really write reviews but this school deserves it. My child is attending CFLA for the first year, shes in 6th grade. If your concern is that our children are considered as numbers and not as individuals, or that school is more about what your wearing and fashion statements, or that computers are now the new teachers, no more hands on, real teaching, if your concern is that your child is going to school just to pass and cant even explain to you what they did or what they are working on, or even what they learned, if your concerned that you might be doing your best to teach your child values and that when they go off to school this lesson is on pause because the school environment doesnt require it from them or their friends, than please excuse my long run on sentence and believe me when I say this school has single-handedly eliminated all of our concerns in this regard. As parents who want the best for our child, CFLA is not only a accredited school, they are also a positive reinforcement and a great back bone for challenging your child intellectually and also morally. CFLA has a unique and controlled environment. The staff actually cares about your child, its not about a paycheck here. This time last year we were terrified about the public school system failing us. Now i look at my child and see so many changes in such a little time. Were excited because of how she is excited about her future. Her mannerisms, goals, and drive for school have all exceeded. No im not saying that this school magically made my child great overnight! What i am saying is our child has great qualities and great potential and CFLA gives her the platform she needs to excel at being her best. So yes this is a very loooonnnnggg review (not really sorry) but if your a really concerned parent, you probably needed to read this to understand your not alone in your thoughts, and looking for a better future for your child is not always easy so I hope this helps you. I have no regrets, and those who do most likely have a problem with structure or contributing to their childs success.
