I recently had a death in the family (my father) and I was told that I would be excused from my instructor. Came back the following week after only missing one day. And asked the student services manager why was I not marked excused and his reply was : “Unfortunately we don’t excuse students for deaths in the family”. So my question is what is an excusable absence? I understand the school schedule and the way it is set up but how does any human being in their right mind expect you to miss your parent(s) funeral and just be ok with it? From my understanding 1 day missed is equivalent to 3 infractions which reflects on your “professionalism grade”. So that makes me unprofessional to attend my fathers funeral???

If you want me to be the greatest Automotive/Diesel Technician out there, don’t look elsewhere for your training and come to UTI. They also offer other programs after you complete your Automotive Technician course that would guarantee you a job pretty job anywhere you want and you’ll be hired on the spot. They have an excellent career counseling staff that will help you with creating your resume and help finding that great position and career that you want.

Currently going to the school not really worth the money most of the instructors seem to care which is good but the school only cares about money when it comes to the students. If you need to miss a class for any reason sickness, home issues, etc. they don’t care to try to help just give you the same answers about their policy or whatever else they can make up to get you to pay to retake the class. I recommend if you want to get into this field try to find an apprenticeship or even start at a dealership if you can instead of being 35k in debt.

Not worth the money at all. Still paying for This mistake of a school 10 years later I should’ve went to a local community college with an auto program I spent 30+ grand finished the automotive program and tpat program in Pennsylvania and all I could get was minimum wage lube tech job and that was working with the people at the school to help me find a job. Not worth the money what so ever look around before you decide to get buried in debt by this school.

Horrible school to go to. They take out loans for you then charge you more once you finished or withdrawal. So you end up paying for loans plus what ever they tell you to pay. So what’s the whole reason of taking out loans and where is the money going to??Really don’t recommend this school to anyone plus the teachers aren’t that good and you don’t learn anything

Great School for people who want to be automotive technicians there is a lot of resources available for the students like Job placement in the automotive field the instructors really prepare you for ASE testing which is good and there is a lot of hands on training also theres a lot of manufacture training programs like BMW, Ford, Nissan and many more but the school is strict on professionalism you got to be on time and you cant miss more then 3 days of class if you do you will fail that class and have to retake it (1,500) a class. But its great training and looks good on your resume.

I enjoyed receiving ample amounts of information as it relates to the fields of automotive and diesel technicians. However, I felt at many times there was not enough time allotted to have hands on or sometimes the material we used for the hands on was really lacking. Id say if you already have a strong background in working on auto/diesel this is really good to brush you up on your knowledge to make you that much more valuable to your employer.

Just like anything in life you have to be committed to what your doing, I graduated and found I had learned most of what was required to LEARN the trade. Schools of any sort don’t make you an expert in anything, they give you the mental tools to learn and master a trade. You have to start somewhere and a lot of the people that I went to school with didn’t know a spark plug from a coolant sensor, but the people who were committed graduated with everything they need between the ears. Retaking a course isn’t the end of the world, and pay attention to the instructors, they have knowledge that books don’t and sometimes it’s not pertaining to cars.

The school is okay there is not much hands on as i thought but they did teach pretty good there is a lot of online homework to do. This is pretty much a school if you dont know anything. This is about basic info they dont teach much like you would be working on in the field. Somethings at my job I dont know cuz I didnt learn in school. Its mainly about power and performance at this school. Again if you dont know anything good place to go. You know a lot go somewhere else

Right now it kinda isnt the best because of the whole COVID-19 thing but I very much enjoy this school and feel as if most people who dont like it are either people who dont try and dont really care or people who didnt want to go to college but there parents said they had to do something in life so they came here thinking it was going to be a breeze

UNIVERSAL TECHNICAL INSTITUTEYou want to work hard and reap the benefits from your own dedication? UNIVERSAL TECHNICAL INSTITUTEI was a student at this school for about 6 months. Due to my own financial hardships being only 19 years old with little to no support familially, I had to give up on my dream and move home, but in the time I was at the campus i learned more than i ever had before. Overall, the school is very helpful, and if you buckle up and work hard, they will work hard for you.

I have always working on cars and small trucks but could never afford to go even though I have always heard good reviews and I am from Illinois and when I lived there they said I would have to have $2000 to go to the one in Chicago, IL and I hope now that I live in Florida it will be cheaper since I live in New Port Richey, FL and the local UTI is in Orlando, FL. I would still love to go to increase the knowledge that I already have from working on my own vehicles.

This school may not be as bad but people that work here are a big let down. I had a 2nd phone interview for a job in NJ. I had the interview with Jeff Pittman and Dave. Interview went fine. 45 mins of questions, i was a very nervous. At some point during the interview when i was trying to answer certain questions. I was being ridiculed. I could hear them giggling like little 5 year olds in the background during the conference call. It is very disrespectful and unprofessional to act in such way for a recruiter. For a Supervisor as Jeff Pittman, it is a disgrace to this University. According to his history, hes achieved quite a lot. One would not think hed be such a tool after reviewing his profile. For anyone trying to join this University. Be smart, save your money, go to a real college and get a real degree.

I put my all into this school and i got what i put in. I found a program through Cummins that i will be a Cummins employee and signed a contract with them. The only reason i got accepted is because i gave it my all. If you try, you will succeed. All instructors are very knowledgeable but they all different ways of teaching. Its amazing that all the staff and instructors line up in the hall way to clap and shake everyones hand that is graduating. I know they get a huge sense of pride out of that and they should. The instructors make UTI what it is. I will miss UTI but this school made my future a reality.

I really enjoyed these courses, and decided to really focus on collision repair and paint. Problem is the job pay sucks right outta school if you can even find a shop that will help you in that career path. And then I found Miracle Method, its a local family run refinishing company where you can utilize your autobody tech skills in a unique ways in peoples homes. I literally make $30 an hour spraying peoples tubs and tile and floors using the skills I learned at UTI. Check out their facebook: miracle method of orlando east and apply my boss says he needs 2-3 more guys for full time immediately.
