I stumbled upon the San Jose Wing Chun (SJWC) school by accident when I was at SJSU. Through the last 6 years, Ive been lucky enough to learn from Sifu Ben Der, a high school classmate with Hawkins Cheung and Bruce Lee.Even though Sifu Ben learned from Ip Man, it wasnt until he met Kenneth Chung, a direct student of Leung Sheung (Ip Mans first student in Hong Kong), that he started to develop the Wing Chun he teaches today.The best part of San Francisco Wing Chun is that its taught by Sifu Bens son, Sifu Francis Der, whos been doing it for 20+ years. This is also an official Leung Sheung school in SF.There are no belts and the seniors are always willing to help out the beginners and intermediate students.
