I cannot say enough about Onyx Ballet 🩰 Studio. Wendy Johnson the owner is one of the highest quality teachers in this area that I have ever met. The quality of ballet 🩰 is beyond reproach. If you are an adult or child, I would highly recommend ballet 🩰 at Onyx Ballet Studio. Ballet 🩰 is transforming. Brain and body connection is like no other class one could take. It is challenging and very rewarding. I am 60 years old and have gone on pointe 🩰. I never in a million years thought that could happen. If you ever feel inclined to take ballet 🩰 by all means give it a try.

This is an excellent studio for both children and adults. I take the adult classes. There is a lot of attention to technique and developing the students’ abilities no matter the age or experience level. I would highly recommend this school.

Miss Wendy and her instructors have created an environment filled with love and caring for each and every child. The amount of learning the kids do is incredible. The best part? They are so busy having a great time that they dont even notice how their dance skills constantly improve.The multiple (you choose how many you’d like your kid to be in), absolutely delightful performances organized by the Studio, offer little dancers of all ages a chance to show off and get a taste of life on stage and I can tell you one thing— they absolutely love it!

One of the best learning environments for my kids. It is evident that Mrs. Wendy has a passion for doing what she does and creates the optimal environment for my kids to thrive. Mrs. Wendys love for this art and patience has helped create a habit that has benefited my kids in many other areas of their lives. My kids have gained a sense of discipline through learning new positions, coordination, balance and how to control their bodies in motion- what a difference from when they started to where they are now! I credit Mrs. Wendy and the instructors for their encouragement and dedication. My kids attend classes, have private lessons, and camps- all wonderful experiences! I also attend adult ballet classes that are exceptional- all levels available! I started as a pre-beginner (is that a thing?!) and enjoy the stretch class and beginners ballet class- amazing feel! Can I tell you how precious this little gem is?! Nestled in the cute Rosemary district, once you walk in you will feel that you are in an old school Parisian ballet school. My daughter has been going here since they opened...great ballet school and Mrs. Wendy is a fantastic teacher...they just had an end of year performance and amazing to see how much my daughter has improved...best of all my daughter’s love for ballet has grown...Whether you child is 4 years old or 14, I highly recommend this school!

Adult classes are welcoming to students at various levels of skill. I credit these classes with helping my strength, balance, and range of motion. I also really enjoy seeing the children perform on a regular basis. The informal shows are great for the kids to gain experience and confidence in front of an audience and to let friends and families see what they have been working on. My teenage son just joined classes here and is already very happy with the classes and teachers... A very supportive, positive and encouraging experience for him and he is so glad to be here.

We have been at Onyx Studio 2 since the beginning and my children enjoy it immensely. A wonderful studio with plenty of performance opportunities each month for the students to grow. Wendy is a fabulous teacher and incredible about motivating her students to the best of their abilities.

Onyx studio 2 is a great asset to the community. From adult classes to youth ballet performances, there is something for everyone. It’s been a pleasure to see the school grow and have opportunities to continue my dance training at such a nice studio.

My little one loves it. She is all day long practicing. The best part is the group of people, teachers and kids they are all amazing. Plus, we do always have performances which is great for the development of the child.

As a professional dancer who’s former teachers now work and operate this studio...I cannot recommend Onyx Studio enough. It is thanks to these wonderful people that I now work in a ballet company. Mrs. Wendy never stopped believing in me when I didn’t care about ballet at all. She put me in contact with Javier and Isabel, and they took my training to the next level. If I could give this studio 100 stars I would!

Good class. Warm welcome, thorough individual instruction. I am using the barre class specially for rehabilitation. After years of physical therapy and yoga, I have never found anything to exercise my feet. Loss of range of motion from arthritis post fusions. I believe this class will give me the strength, flexibility and balance to return my biomechanics and over all gait symmetry.

They have an adorable performance almost every month and its always nice to watch young dancers grow. Also, Im so glad that Onyx offers awesome adult ballet classes, from basic to advanced, pointe & variations. I enjoy dancing in this studio with a group of friendly people at all levels & all ages. The instructors are outstanding and the floor is very well constructed. We are lucky to have this gem in Sarasota.

I was thrilled when my 15-year old son Frankie decided he wanted to dance again and it was all because of Onyx Studio 2! Wendy and her team of wonderful teachers have created something really special here- a family. Javier has taught and inspired my boys for years- they havent just learned to dance- they have learned many valuable life lessons from him as well. Frankie says that he always gets a great workout. He loves going to class, and getting the chance to perform on a regular basis. I love that his self-confidence is at an all time high. We could not be happier!
