My daughter and I had a great experience at their free Womens Self-Defense Workshop. I was delighted that it was more than just a discussion of self defense. We were taught very specific moves and allowed to practice each of them several times with the volunteer helpers.

Such a great experience learning self defense! I loved the way Sensei Rob explained and demonstrated everything. I had fun hitting bags and doing hands on defense techniques. The whole staff was very professional.

I enrolled my children in LEMA in the spring of 2021 with the hopes of growing their confidence and self esteem. In these few short months of training with Sensei Rob and the LEMA family, I have witnessed growth in my children beyond what I had ever hoped for. Sensei Rob and the LEMA team are instructors and role models. They teach, they motivate, and they build character and confidence. If you want a family friendly, fun activity for your child Leading Edge is the place to go. Not only are the staff knowledgable, they take the time to learn about each child and family so they can help each family individually. The instructors have spoke to me about my child after our first week there, and they knew so much about him already. You can really tell they love what they do and they only want to spread knowledge and joy to all. Leading Edge has been a blessing to us and the community.

Sensei Rob did a month of virtual classes for my work and it was AMAZING. Im not the kind of person who usually enjoys working out, but I joined to break up the work day a little bit and am so glad I did :)

LEMA and Sensei Rob are truly the best! We had Sensei teach a Self Defense and Self Awareness course along with a handful of martial arts style exercise classes over Microsoft Teams for our company. I took my daughter here for the toddler class which was so adorable. She loved it. Plan on getting her to join once she is ready... age appropriate. She is very excited.I, myself, recently joined as I have wanted to return to martial arts after participating as a kid.I have really enjoyed being back.Covid has not made it easy but Sensei rob has taken great strides to keep everyone safe.I applaud his efforts.I also love the online classes to help keep everyone involved even when you cant be on the mat.I love the knowledge base and the discipline.I am very happy I joined lema!

Leading Edge Martial Arts (LEMA) has been instrumental with teaching my sons self discipline, accountability, and leadership qualities. I came to this place about 2 weeks in advance and spoke with Ceejay about my daughter coming to a starter class today thursday August 8th. He spent about 30 minitues answering our questions. He seemed pretty cool at the time. He told us that the class started at 7:15pm and when we arrived at 7:20pm he said that we were too late and if I could return another day. I said to him I just drove 2hrs to get here and he said nothing else and turned his back and walked away from us with out saying another word. At least he could have the interest in having my two daughters as new recurits. He could of offer a second option. In fact there was a female martial artist that works there just sitting in the office. He could of suggested having her just show my daughters something for 10minutes just to give my daughters an idea of what martial arts is about. But I was turned away with out option and he was very cut and dry. He didnt even offer us to watch from out side. With discipline theres always compassion Ceejay. My daughters will be joining a different school NOT YOURS THANK YOU!!!

I am so impressed by the staff at LEMA and their dedication to the students. They have brilliantly pivoted from in-person classes to interactive online instruction. The owner, Sensei Rob, is so invested in the success of our childrens experience. His instruction and interaction with the kids is full of positive motivation. While we cant wait to get back to in-person classes, we are so thankful for the excellent virtual martial arts experience.  This would be a perfect fit for any family looking for a martial arts school that provides not only great instruction but personalized attention.

Job well done. All the instructors are great. Facility is clean, very clean (which is huge - especially with bare feet) and getting down on the mat. Lots of other activities to keep the kids engaged in the community and do some good (re: donations for military, Halloween parades, kicks for cancer). Our experience has been positive. If you are considering, Id recommend giving it a try. Just be mindful that Karate does require time and practice. It wouldnt be fair if your enrolled your child and didnt put the time in for them to be successful.

Best martial arts school on the east coast. Two locations, Allentown and Bethlehem. Family oriented, many extra events for the children and families, and top level trainers. I highly recommend this martial arts school as I have trained here for 4 1/2 years and have earned my first degree black belt. Still train occasionally today.

We have been here for 5 years, have 2 kids enrolled, observed hundreds of classes. It has been a wonderful experience for our entire family. The discipline, the skill and confidence the kids develop is outstanding. Sensai Rob runs a great program and is truly concerned about each child’s development and understands and helps each child understand how to overcome fears, get better and how to be the best they can be in martial arts and in life.

My boys love the classes and it has built up their confidence. Out family has incredible respect for their instructors. Also, the discipline they are learning will help them in everything they do in life.

My son has been training with Leading Edge, for almost 9 years. 4 1/2 of those as a Jr. Black belt. We tried out several Martial Arts schools and none of them compared. The amount of respect shown to this art, at this facility, is hands down, the BEST in the Lehigh Valley. Our son, originally began martial arts because, his occupational therapist suggested it, for his core strength. He has gained so much more than that, in the past almost 9 years. Leading Edge Martial Arts is amazing. I would recommend for anyone who has children interested in Martial Arts or adults who themselves are interested. They not only teach you martial arts but to believe in yourself and your abilities!!! My granddaughter studied at another school in the Lehigh Valley, and they were very good, but when they had to switch to this one due to moving, the difference was obvious. Very disciplined, but the kids love the teachers because there is a lot of love given to them, too. The classes are more organized, the kids learn to pay better attention, and the pricing is excellent, too. I really like the teachers. Ive been teaching for 43 years and I know a good teacher when I see one. Highly recommend this school.

This place is amazing! The staff are not only knowledgeable but also caring. They take great pride in this school and their students. The environment is perfectly suited for those who are new to martial Arts and for those who have previously studied. Its my home away from home.

Very well organized and well structured-- while incorporating new and fun events (usually for great causes too). The place is always clean, and the staff is always friendly and professional. Having an app to keep up with schedule changes and events is a big plus, too!

LEMA is awesome! Sensei Rob and ALL of his staff are the best instructors. The discipline and confidence they instill in all of their students are such valuable character traits in life. They have all worked together to help our child come out of her shell and we couldnt be more grateful of them and proud of our daughter!

I found this place on groupon while searching for things for my toddlers to do in the area. I called and spoke to Sensei Rob and he was very nice. I told him I had a groupon and the ages of my boys. One was too young and that was fine. We set up a date for my oldest to try out his first class. Unfortunately because I commute to work, my husband had to take him. When he got there, my son was not as engaged which is normal for a toddler trying out something for the first time. The instructor CJ would not accept the groupon because he felt my son should be in the class for younger children because he wouldnt be able to keep up. He knew this from the less than 15min intro class he offered. The trial class only had one other kid in it and my son doesnt have issues following directions when hes amongst peers. There is nothing in the terms of the groupon that states that they can do this. We felt that a month of trying it out would be good enough to see if this is the right thing for our son. I called and spoke to CJ who wasnt very pleasant to speak with. Then I finally spoke with Sensei Rob and asked him what had changed since our initial conversation. He offered for my son to come back and try another class or apply the groupon towards the balance of the other class. My son went back and from what my husband said, he did much better than before. However, him coming back didnt make a difference because CJ had already make up his mind the first time that he was going to try and upcharge us for the younger toddler class. Once again he brushed my husband off and told him to call tomorrow. This is not how you treat people who are willing to spend money at your establishment. We had thought about just putting our son in the class he suggested, but who wants their kid to learn from someone like that? Having kindness and compassion does not cost anything. Its pretty sad because Sensei Rob seemed nice, but because of CJs attitude we will look elsewhere.

This place is amazing! The instructors are very friendly and have lots of knowledge..also like the fact that they have cage fitness classes and afternoon martial arts classes not many places have afternoon classes..its also very clean..been training here for 4 years and i have no bad complaints about them..it is a all around great dojo!!

Best decision I made for my son was enrolling him at LEMA. Staff is very professional, firm yet compassionate. My sons self esteem, focus self discipline and respect for others has increased tremendously. They do a great job and really care about the students.

Leading Edge Martial Arts, came highly recommended from a friend of mine who has worked with the instructors as well as Sensei Rob, in different venues in the community. I was told that they were great with the children and really took the time to encourage them and help them with self discipline and focus. As a father, of a son with 2 diagnosis, I must admit at first I was slightly concerned that he was going to be a distraction in the classes. Let me tell you that the recommendation was nothing short of being spot on! Sensei Rob has worked with my son for over a year now. Josiah has worked his way to a green belt and has become more disciplined and focused. A few times my son wanted to give up because he was frustrated. All the instructors, would always take extra time with him to help him along the way. They have been nothing short of a miracle. I could not say enough great things about LEMA and all the staff! Sensei Rob and Sensei CJ are very informative, compassionate and direct with each student. Every question has been answered promptly and I commend how they teach discipline with respect.

My daughter has been attending this school for about four yrs. She really enjoys coming here and instructors are always kind to her. Clean facilty as well. They have fun pizza movie nights for the kids and Ive had several birthday parties here and they were alot of fun.

Leading Edge Martial Arts is a great family friendly facility with a knowledgeable and engaging staff. I dont take the martial arts classes, but they do offer an awesome fitness program called Cage Fitness that along with the support of the staff, has helped me get into the best shape Ive ever been in. They also give back in many ways between anti-bullying programs, Toys For Tots drives, care packages for the troops, and Free Womens Self Defense seminars. Theres something at LEMA for everyone!

My son really enjoyed Leading Edge. He had a number of friends that studied martial arts at different schools around the lehigh valley, but none of them enjoyed it as much a my son. Sensei Rob has mastered the technique of teaching the kids martial arts while still ensuring that they are having a blast. My son actually asked to go to extra classes he liked it so much. Plus I liked the fact that I never got pressured into signing any contracts. Great overall experience, staff, and facility. He truly cares about the kids he teaches.

LEMA is an amazing place and a great environment to learn in! The instructors are so helpful and the other students make learning there so fun! You really do become part of a family and have an awesome time every day! Everyone knows how it was to become a white belt for the first time, scary, but ultimately worth it in the long run. Not only do the lessons they teach you in class apply to your daily life, learning martial arts at LEMA helps you become a better person off the mat too.

My child has been taking martial arts at LEMA for almost 2 years and I have been very impressed with what he has learned and accomplished as well as how well run the program is. The schedule is incredibly flexible and easy to adjust around other activities your child may be in. They focus on martial arts but mix in real life lessons (bullying, strangers, respect, ect) During the classes the kids are expected to be disciplined and listen to instructions. They do extra activities such as light sabor training, board breaking and even a movie night that give the kids a chance to interact with the instructors in a more laid back setting. It really is a good mix of structure and fun.

In the beginning everything was excellent, the Team of instructors is very good with the kids. My son went for 3 years then decided he needed a change - he is in his 2nd year of H.S. priorities have changed.Thats where the issues begin. Leaving requires a meeting where you get the hard sell from Sensei. Then requires 30 Days notice - So you are in for an additional Monthly installment.And then they charge your Credit Card during that 30 Days and tell you it was a New Software excuse. Its an excuse a friend of mine also received as this was his experience when his son left the organization..There are lots of choices out there, I would have gone to another provider had I known. My 2 younger children will not be going to this place after this experience.

Sensei Rob, is by far, the absolute best thing you can do for your children! LEMA has been wonderful for my son. He was a very shy & very quiet 5 year old when he began, just months later he is more outgoing, open, and his confidence is growing. He looks forward to his classes and moving up. We love Leading Edge Martial Arts-Allentown!It is the best thing that has happened to our kids and one of the best decisions we could have made for them. We researched/visited several different martial arts schools and from the first time we went to LEMA our kids loved the staff and the classes. Our son was very shy and kept to himself and our daughter was the complete opposite! LEMA not only teaches them self defense and discipline, but also core values that we all would want our kids to have. They have both benefitted and improved by going to LEMA.
