Kasumi Mountain is a fantastic training center which is very different from your typical Dojo or Dojang. Most martial arts in the US are more American-military-based in their style, but this school is based on a very uniquely nurturing set of principles which come from ancient Japanese clan-style teaching. If youre interested in a simple-to-start style that leads to fantastically advanced subtle brilliant movement, then this is the school for you.

Budo Mountain Family Martial Arts offers an excellent martial arts program that not only focuses on the body, but focuses on the mind and being a good person in society as well. They often have service projects where many children and adults get together and do things to benefit the community such as cleaning up trash near rivers, making cards for people in nursing homes, making animal toys and treats for animals in shelters, and many more. They accept all kinds of people and do not care whether or not you are experience or not. They will always adjust to fit the needs of everyone.Overall, Budo Mountain is a great place for benefiting the whole family and I would definitely recommend it.

My sons experience has been incredible at the after-school program and in the martial arts classes. The after school program is top notch. The staff cares about each of the students and makes every effort to see them succeed and thrive by instilling confidence and a sense of purpose.

Sean is incredibly knowledgeable and experienced and great with kids. So many shopping center karate places are a joke, but ninjitsu is a legitimate style distilled directly from Japan, he has trained multiple times in Tokyo and even been endorsed by the Grandmaster himself. This is a style which teaches body awareness, stillness of mind, and great self defense. Not about strength or speed but rather intelligence. I trained with him for years as an adult, and if ever have kids will start them early! Check it out!!

My son has been a part of the Ninja Kids Club for almost four years, and he loves it! The instructors take so much time to think of fun and innovative ways to share an ancient martial art. I appreciate how non-competitive it is, and my son enjoys the games and training exercises. One of the things I love most about this program is how it incorporates character values into the martial arts. My son references these lessons regularly and is able to apply them to his life with ease. There is also a huge focus on community service. The owners care so much about the art and their students, and it shows in every aspect of their programs.I highly recommend this dojo to anyone looking for a quality martial arts program, especially for children.

There are not words to describe how wonderful this place is for my daughter. Sensei Shawn and Sensei Parker are supportive, caring and fun. They gently encourage her when shes having a rough day, and they laugh with her when shes on top of the world. My daughter is learning the skills to be a kind, patient, observant, and active person while she is here, and she loves it! The unflappable Thomas makes it easy to try it out, sign-up, or make changes to your schedule. I am a true fan of Budo Martial Arts!

My 6.5 year old has been on the kids black belt track for almost two years, and we did a year of two days a week afterschool care. Next year, were doing 5 days a week, because the program is so fantastic. Relative to other afterschool programs, the Budo Mountain dojo is calm, intimate, focused on the whole child, including incorporating yoga, meditation, self-reflection, art, games and of course, martial arts. Relative to other martial arts programs, this place is special, because of its smaller scale, family ownership, and attention to community and inclusion, and close involvement with parents. The senseis also work closely with parents as a bridge to schools, teachers and administrators when there are any behavioral issues or other challenges at school. Solutions to these issues are reinforced at the dojo in positive, constructive ways. I also really appreciate the focus on character, values and principles, such as courage, integrity, honesty, respect, trust and balance.
