Been training here for 3 years now and love this place! Josh is a fantastic teacher who truly cares about his students and making sure they learn good form and technique for practical self defense. As a small woman, training at EVX has helped me feel much more confident in my abilities to extricate myself from bad situations. Everyone who trains at the dojo is also really nice and will help you learn. Excellent community here, highly recommend for all your martial arts and fitness needs!

Practical, no-nonsense martial arts school. You wont be learning how to jump 6 feet in the air and spin-kick a bad guy in the face -- because that only works in movies. Instead, youll learn how to properly, effectively kick, punch, lock and throw; youll learn about the psychology of winning in a fight; youll learn how to use your body weight as a weapon; and youll test your skills regularly while (safely!) sparring. (Did you know that some martial arts schools dont even spar?) On top of that, every class is a great workout. You could spend $100 a month to run on a treadmill at the gym -- or you can get n shape while learning practical, realistic self-defense, feel more confident about yourself, and maybe even teach your friends a useful move or two.

If you are serious about learning practical self defense while doing so in a collegial, friendly, but hard-working environment, I dont know why you would go anywhere else. My only regret is that I didnt start going regularly, sooner.

My daughter started with Evolution in the Spring of 2019. She loves attending class. The instructors are amazing with the children. They keep them motivated, disciplined and share their passion of martial arts. The dojo is a welcoming place. I love that its difficult at times and the instructors push the kids to overcome. This program is so much more than athleticism. They encourage respect, determination, effort and more. Such a great all around program.

I have been training with them over two weeks. I have enjoyed the experience very much. The group of instructors is very dynamic and can easily adjust to your level. Also, the children class is well organized; kids always seem to have fun at the same time that they workout and learn.

So in love with this dojo! Really great wide space to train in and Sensei Josh is really informative and attentive to his students, making sure to point out any flaws in your approach and very respectful! Something very important as a woman training in martial arts or anything else is that the key point: RESPECT! and know not to cross any boundaries or make any advances towards his students. I dont have to worry about that here. A1 spot.

My 11 years old son loves going to his jujitsu class every week. Not only he has learned his new moves every time but is more focused, more active and more disciplined. I can’t thank enough Mr Josh and Mrs Jen for such a incredible job. I highly recommend Atlanta kyusho and jujitsu for kids and adults!!

Awesome experience!! Josh and some of the staff came out to teach a self-defense class for a group of women experiencing homelessness and we all thoroughly enjoyed the class. The staff was very interactive, incredibly warm and amicable, and clearly very knowledgeable. I would highly recommend getting involved with this studio.

Ive trained at this school for about 8 years. From the start, what attracted me was the owner and chief instructor Josh Morees humility and desire to teach with patience. And the fact that he really knows his stuff! On the very first day, he demonstrated to me that his school was all about fast, practical and efficient self-defense. You wont be learning any crane kicks, Karate Kid style :) Youll learn how to win a fight in 5 seconds or less. I cant begin to tell you how much real, honest confidence that gives you -- knowing that you can protect yourself and your family. As you progress in your learning, youll get more then a new belt -- youll develop a practical, proven skill set that one day might save your life.

My experience in martial arts was nonexistent before I came to AKJ, and Im *really* glad that I started to come here when I decided that I wanted to work on my self-defense. The instructors and students foster a really welcome environment for anyone that wants to learn, and Im always reminded how techniques can be applied in real life if I ever have to use them. 10/10 would recommend.

Ive been training at this amazing dojo for several years now. Atlanta Kyusho and Jujitsu have great instructors and they are very knowledgeable. There are NO egos at this dojo and they are very, very technical. I felt welcome as soon as I started training and in my opinion, they are simply the best. After only a few classes you will be walking more confidently. The instructors are awesome and the class environment is top notch. Higher level belts often train with the new guys and help them nail the moves. Everyone is super encouraging and patient as they help you learn all of the fundamentals. I have recommended it to every friend I have and would say this is the best REAL self-defense a person can learn. If you have boys or girls going to college, make them take at least 1 yr. of classes here and they’ll be able to handle pretty much every nasty situation coming their way, starting with self-awareness and empowerment. So, in a nutshell: High integrity, high quality, and high passion! No better place to learn self-defense. Youll be challenged and your confidence will grow. This is a safe and clean family atmosphere for ladies and children! Also, I love the smaller classes for more personal attention, you are not just a number. It is more like a family than a business.

I have the honor of being part of this dojo for the last few years now. It has been a life changing experience from day one. Josh Moree does a fantastic job teaching, motivating and challenging us in a fun and effective manner. He teaches us various arts, but ties them all back to some basic fundamentals that you can carry with you throughout your martial art experience. From the start, I have been challenged physically and mentally. This conditioning happens a little bit every day, but you will notice it when suddenly you are helping to train others in the dojo. We all come from different places, but on the mat, we all come together. Having somewhere I can go to train, spar, teach, learn and progress through such a great art form makes me glad to not only have that opportunity, but to have taken it. Come and train with us, you wont regret it!

The detail and quality of instruction at AKJ is beyond excellent. Expect to find an extensive depth of knowledge in various styles of martial arts housed in a positive environment with solid integrity. I have a very high level of appreciation for Sensei Josh and all the care, passion, and dedication he puts into the dojo and his students. There is genuine interest in the success of all students, while at the same time everyone is being pushed towards improving and becoming their best self. This is a dojo where everyones progress is important, where students and instructors alike are inspiring each other and helping each other learn. The environment is friendly, the training is hard, the results are empowering.

I try to travel at least once a year from Europe to Atlanta to train with Shihan Josh Moree and his crew. I always feel very welcome in the dojo. The quality of the training is profound and I always learn something new while having a great time and many laughs. Shihan Moree treats Martial Arts the way it is supposed to be: with respect for the art and each other, an open mind for other styles and opinions, and always with a lot of fun.tl;dr: Awesome dojo with awesome people.

One of the most important things you can find in a school is its teachers, the second most important thing is its students. I have had the pleasure of training at AKJ (Atlanta Kyusho and Jujitsu) for 2 years - why I stay ... Tthe level of knowledge that is given freely is vast and the caber of students high. The classes are intense with a strong direction on piratical self defense, pain compliance, standing and ground work, also with Arnis to cover weapon work. I love the class, the people and the school. Come on in and watch a class and then sign up!Hope to see you on the mat!

Really great place to learn martial arts! I have been training at Atlanta Kyusho and Jujitsu for about 2.5 years, and this dojo is truly fantastic. Incredibly knowledgable instructors, overall great community. As a woman, it can be intimidating and challenging to find a good place to learn combative martial arts that isnt reeking with machismo competition, but there is none of that at AKJ. The instructors and students at AKJ are very supportive of each other and are constantly helping each other so that everyone progresses and improves.I highly, highly recommend this place, so if youre interested in learning martial arts, come and check AKJ out!

I found AKJ in 2013 and it has been a transformative experience. Having attended a few other school, gyms, and dojos in the metro Atlanta area beforehand I was disheartened by how many martial arts schools had either (1) transformed into MMA-style facilities or (2) catered directly to children. AKJ offered up a great balance of substance, technique, physical cardio and strength training for the 21+ crowd. Sensei Josh Morees style of training embraces both amateurs who are new to Okinawan Jiu Jitsu and seasoned martial artists alike. Youll often find an amalgamation of small circle jiu jitsu, tae kwon do, judo, aikido, boxing and wrestling styles working their way into kumite (free style fighting) influenced by the dojos diverse student base. That being said, Sensei Josh Moree has always encouraged a positive and welcoming community within his school. There is no other dojo as immersive, diverse, challenging, and welcoming as Atlanta Kyusho and JuJitsu in the southeast.Check it out!OSU!

Outstanding martial arts school. The head instructor, Josh Moree, along with his other instructors are very knowledgeable about kyusho-jitsu, ryukyo kempo karate, and brazilian jui-jitsu. Their are interesting seminars to attend and guest instructors will visit. This is one of the best martial arts schools in Atlanta to learn how to fight and protect yourself. OSU!!

We had a great experience with Josh and some of his staff who came out to teach a self-defense class to women experiencing homelessness and some volunteers. The instructors were very professional, friendly and made the class as entertaining as it was effective. As first-timers, we learned a few simple moves, rather than a bunch of fancy moves that we might otherwise forget.Though I have been shy about attending a martial arts class, I have met many people who train at AKJ and they rave about the dojo and Sensei Moree. The approachability of the self-defense class, however, has piqued my interest in signing up for a regular class.Lastly, it speaks volumes about the dojo that four of them would come out to volunteer in the community on short notice. Thank you for this opportunity!
