This church has maintained a tradition of excellence in music and worship for a long time. The senior pastor and the associate pastors are all excellent preachers. The music is always done well and is an integral part of worship. The 11 AM service on Sundays is a traditional service. This service is streamed live and you can also watch it on YouTube. There is also have a new, more contemporary service at 4 PM on Sundays. This service attracts a diverse group that includes students and young adults.This church has always reminded me of the small-town church I grew up in. Everyone is welcomed and cared for. A great place to worship and grow.

Great community support based on their commitment to their faith.Second-Ponce has been rooted as more traditional Baptist Church belonging to both the southern baptist and Cooperative Baptist Fellowship. The 11:00 is a more traditional service with a great music program. They also have a more relaxed service with a band on Sunday afternoon. They have a live stream for those who want to tele-worship.They have a number of community outreach programs but I am particular impressed with their efforts to help others that are not of their faith like the hungry, homeless and underprivileged.They do great work with youth. Like many churches, they have a preschool and kids programs around worship. They also reach out to the youth of other communities. They are very supportive of Garden Hills elementary by supplying people and equipment for things like the school festival as well as helping to upgrade the playground. They have a mission program that makes a real difference in the community of underprivileged children in Miami.I applaud them for being clear that their actions arent just about being good people but are a reflection of a commitment to knowing Christ and doing his work.

Sunday was our third straight year attending Second Ponce’s annual Christmas Cantata. What a wonderful performance. Every year, the musicians and choir are the best of the best and always put on a spectacular show. This year, as a pleasant surprise, every person attending, church member or not, was invited to a reception afterwards. My 6 ½ year old daughter even received a goody bag with some of her favorite toy trinkets. Thanks Second Ponce for always starting off our holiday season in a very memorable way!

Second-Ponce is a great church! There are excellent ministry programs for children, youth, and adults. I am blessed by the worship at both the services. There is a traditional service in the Sanctuary at 11:00 a.m. and a more casual service called All Together at 4:00 p.m. I am also very encouraged by the community outreach efforts and missions work that the church is doing as well. My family has felt loved and supported by the people at Second-Ponce and we are thankful for such a loving church family!

Exciting church with lots of enthusiasm for serving the community. If you love outstanding traditional music and worship the 11 AM service is for you. If you love contemporary and high energy worship geared towards the younger generation then the 4 PM #AllTogether Service is where you want to be. Both services are filled with amazing people who love serving others.

The presence of the Holy Spirit was felt in this church. I was a visitor from Ohio and I felt welcomed. Rob was the Sunday school leader, very interesting and easy to follow. The Choir and orchestra was fantastic. Historical Church and very well kept, you can tell the members really appreciate their time together. Expect a huge welcome.

The pastoral staff is caring and welcoming. The music program, children program and youth program are all outstanding. We strive to make everyone welcome. I am proud to be a part of this church family.

Not everyone is welcome. They have met their diversity quota and have police officers patrolling the parking lot, racially profiling potential new members and scaring off visitors with threats of searching cars and charges of criminal trespass. If you dont fit the criteria that they require at their very selective house of worship, you are not welcome! They are only looking for a sprinkling of diversity to feed their egos!

Real nice security.... Kicks first time visitors off property. Sounds like a great community.

Wonderful, warm preschool environment. Sweet and caring teachers who really love the children. Small classrooms give individual attention. There are a lot of after school classes and an early drop-off at 8 am for those busy days! Lovely school!

It was wonderful to see college age students from all over Atlanta at the All Together service last week! Exciting to see SPdL moving our community. This service at 4pm on Sundays has a Christ like 21st century vision. Thanks Josh Scott for changing how we do church and bringing Atlanta #AllTogether.

I struggled in my youth but those people thatade it worth while are my hero and my boat when I couldnt sail myself and my mentors like God thank you! For being his helpers!!! Now I really wanna show my son the same... From the bottom of my heart I hope we continue this millennial the right things in life thank you all again so very much for everything. This is a wonderful church that does traditional worship right. Preaching, music and programs for all age-groups are done with thought and excellent preparation. The people are friendly and welcome new folks in a non-intimidating manner. The pastor uses a narrative method and tells great stories. He delivers much content in a short amount of time.

They had their Christmas concert this past Sunday . 45 voices and 24 piece orchestra. What an amazing way to start the Christmas season . Lots of visitors welcomed by a loving congregation.

This gym is great! Also,the pool is clean. The machines at the gym are great for working out!Staff is nice as well!👍🏻

Second-Ponce de Leon Baptist Church is unique in the truest and best sense of the word...it is a one-of-a-kind, delightful oasis for those looking for top-quality, traditional, inspiring, creative worship experiences. The church also provides a wide variety of opportunities for people of all ages to study the Bible in small groups and to discover and use their individual spiritual gifts to meet the needs of others--within the church and throughout the community--all in an atmosphere of authentic, caring, Christian fellowship. I should also add that the superb music ministry is second to none and consistently provides outstanding inspiration for everyone.Having recently retired from serving as a pastor for over 50 years, you would not be surprised to learn that my wife and I have specific and high expectations of a congregation that in our retirement years we could call home. For months, we have searched all over Atlanta for a church that offers the characteristics that I noted above...and we have found them all in Second-Ponce. Therefore, a couple of months ago, we became members the church, driving 64 miles roundtrip so that we may regularly participate in the life of the church.For us, the icing on the cake at Second-Ponce are the exceptional sermons shared by the senior pastor, Dr. Dock Hollingsworth, and the associate pastor, Dr. David Hull...both of them carefully and expertly prepare their biblically-based and life-oriented sermons and deliver them with warmth and in engaging, interesting ways so that all of us worshipers are motivated and equipped to live out the teachings of Gods Word in the challenging world in which we find ourselves. They are among the very best preachers that we have every heard!I am grateful that we have the opportunity of being a part of this unique... one-of-a-kind...wonderful congregation! --Winford L. Although they may say all are wlecome to visit, if you intend to visit please notify them first. Especially if you are a hispanic or African American visitor waiting in your car before service they will ask you to leave. Threatening you with a criminal trespassing..

This a great church. Glad I found it when my family moved to ATL.

I give the choir and orchestra 5 stars and the preacher 1 star. Its a shame because its a beautiful sanctuary and it should be sold out on Sundays, but its not because Dr. Hollingsworth is a total snoozer! He needs to join Toastmasters and learn how to put some enthusiasm into his sermons, learn how to make people think, learn how to move people emotionally! It’s never too late to learn and grow! Hello?!? Heres one example of how clueless he is...One Sunday, the choir and orchestra did this amazing song, and as I was listening, I was thinking, This is one of the most beautiful songs Ive ever heard. When Dr. Hollingsworth stepped up to the podium, he could have turned to the choir and said something about how beautiful the song was and what a wonderful choir and orchestra the church has, and then started an applause - it would have been a special heart felt moment that went along with the music. Instead, he stepped up to the podium and went into another one of his boring sermons and totally killed the buzz I had from the song. I love the choir and orchestra, but I cant stand boring good ol boy southern preachers - so I quit going.
