I love this program!!! I have two kids in this program and it has helped both of them with different situations. It is very family friendly and the instructors are super!! Master Lorenz works very hard and takes a personal interest in her students. She has been teaching for over 20 years and strives to better her students every day both in class and out. Thanks Master Lorenz and staff for all of your hard work and dedication to our children.

Master Patty Lorenz is a great instructor who owns the school. We feel very comfortable talking with her and she is very honest and upfront with everything. We have gone through some difficult times and she was willing to work with us! As long as we communicated with her and followed through with what we agreed to everything worked out just fine. I really respect her and what she does for our kids. The Life Skills alone has helped my son develop respect for himself and to show respect to others. Great family business and very down to earth. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND taking classes with Master Patty Lorenz!!!

Please beware, do not sign a contract with this organization before you do your homework on ATA.I need to caution that you need to read the contract before you sign. The monthly fees are not the only fees you will incur. ATA requires that you use ONLY their equipment which costs two to three times what we priced out at a local martial arts supply store. And the weapons we did purchase at ATA were certainly not of superior quality or worth the 67% increase cost. The owner, Master Lorenz, seemed to only be concerned about our purchase of equipment and paying to test. This site is lucky however to have an excellent instructor, if Sam owned and operated this gym our outcome would have been totally different.

Master Lorenz and Ms. Vanessa are hard working, diligent and extremely good both with kids and adults. Personable and professional, these martial artist definitely redefine the often negative stereotype of American Martial Arts by including a discipline of taekwondo (Songahm) that is both functional and enjoyable for adults and kids alike. If you are looking for a traditional martial arts in a kid friendly, professional, and hard working and tough school you have come to the right place. You will get your work on and you and your child both will benefit greatly from their instruction.

One or more of my kids has been enrolled in an ATA school owned and operated by Patti Lorenz for the past eight years. I was aware that taekwondo was great for teaching kids respect, confidence and self-control. My kids have learned so much more! Theyve learned goal setting, perseverance and taking ownership for their actions not to mention the physical conditioning benefits. Ive been very pleased and thankful for the presence of Patti and her staff in the lives my kids. Although they are pretty strict and hold the kids accountable they are also very caring and supportive. Kind of like having more parents. They have helped to reinforce what Ive been teaching at home. The staff has worked with us during some challenging periods in our lives and when the kids wanted to take on a second sport. For those who complain about the cost - all kids sports are pricey especially when its no longer recreational. Check out the cost of football or hockey. Some sports may not have contracts but have ridiculous fundraising like requiring kids to go door-to-door to sell time shares! This is not the only sport that requires purchase of a specific type or brand of equipment. The decision to enroll my kids in Pattis school has been one of our better decisions as parents.

We are pretty new and have been only taking classes for about 6 months but I just had to review this dojo. I am so please with the level of instruction, friendliness of the staff, and not to mention a very clean location. The owner, Patty Lorenz, made sure to go through everything with us prior to signing up and made sure we were aware of all costs associated with this sport. The gear and weapons do have to be purchased through ATA due to insurance and I think thats completely understandable. We did try out a couple d deferent karate dojos before coming to ATA Denver. ATA is much better quality of instruction, the prices are much more affordable, and the benefits of the program are great! Plus all instructors are background checked and they have a standardized curriculum! This place is the real deal!

1.0 star rating 4/13/2017First to ReviewOur negative experience with this ATA location is multi faceted, we did make the mistake of making a impulse decision in signing a 3 year contract, and I own my mistake. We thought this would be a good activity for my step daughter and a fun family activity, we were told about different weapons and gear packages they had available, at the time we told them we were not interested right then because it was very expensive, (for my family of 4 it would have been around $2400+) we were then told by the location manager and instructor that we can use the schools weapons without a problem as thats what they were there for, and the pads we would need to compete if we chose to do so. Also nowhere in the contract does it say that we must purchase their gear, or buy only weapons or pads sold by ATA, a few weeks later we had purchased some gear from a reputable tae kwon do supply store, upon arriving at class, we were then informed that we could not use any equipment that was not purchased from ATA. We were still told we can just use the schools weapons because thats what they were there for. A few weeks later we received what appeared to be a mass email from the owner Master Patty Lorenz, which part of the email talked about how it is irresponsible and unfair students to not purchase their own weapons. Within the first few months we had seen the owner only a couple times, each time we were not greeted with a hello, or how are you enjoying your training or anything like that but rather we need you to pay for XYZ, or this is coming up and you need to pay if you want to do whatever, I understand the owner has to be concerned about their bottom line, however in the case of Master Patty Lorenz, it seems like the money is her only concern and will do whatever she can to get as much out of you as possible. My step daughter is a sophomore in high school and has started taking college classes, however now both her and my step sons college classes conflict with the classes offered at ATA, so now they are unable to attend. We signed our agreement in 08/2016 November and December because of tournaments and the holidays the school was closed most of the time when our classes were scheduled for. So since our original agreement was made we have only been able to attend the first couple months, I do understand that is our problem and not the schools which is why I continue to pay their $250, in February I stopped by and Master Patty Lorenz was there, I explained the situation with the kids school schedules and how their school schedules conflicted with the courses offered at ATA, I was told that their policy is to not let people out of their contracts other than a medical condition or disability with a doctors verification or if we moved more than 25 miles from one of their facilities, but we could buy out the agreement with a 30% reduction of the remaining balance and she would get back to me to let know what that would be, finally today 4/13/2017 I received an email from her saying I apologize for not getting back to you sooner. I took a look at your contract and like I said before it is not our policy to cancel agreements. You still owe 29 months worth of payments. This totals $7250. Your options for the contract are to continue paying, or if you would prefer to buy out the contract we can offer a 30% buy out discount. The total for the buyout would be $5075. I have included a copy of your contract as to clear up any confusion on the agreement you signed. This is a $10,000+ mistake my family is now paying for. I urge anyone considering ATA to REALLY look into them prior to making any decisions, we have spoken to friends who are or have been in martial arts for many years now and have heard a common response that it is not a very good school, and apparently they do not have a good reputation in the martial arts community, do your research and do not make the same mistake we did, do a Google search, do your homework, let my families expensive mistake help prevent your family from the same.
