The best experience of my life. I want to be a Pilot and this intro class showed me that I want to go very far. I love Adrenaline and extreme and driving a plane was a breathtaking experience!. And I think this is for me. Everybody in the office were super friendly, and I felt like family. The Pilot Jack was very friendly and informative. He gave me a detailed explanation of what we were going to do. AWESOME EXPERIENCE EVER!!!.

I have been really impressed with Classic Air Aviation and my instructor Jack Krahn. Things are very organized at Classic Air and Jack is very helpful. He has made it easy for me to learn and has given me new information and insight I haven’t gotten from other flight schools. He has also introduced me to new ways of studying and understanding the information I need to know to be successful. Classic Air Aviation has been very flexible with my schedule and and wants to see their students excel as pilots. The professionalism and organization is hard to find in flight schools so I would strongly recommend Classic Air to start or continue your aviation goals.

I’m currently working on my Multi Engine add on and I’ve really enjoyed my experience at Classic Air Aviation so far. They are a small operation but are very professional, transparent, and safe. Not everything has gone perfectly, with their twin Cessna being in maintenance quite a bit, but that happens and I feel like they’ve made efforts to communicate delays with me and handle everything professionally. My instructor Jon is also a great dude. He emphasizes safety and precision but does it in a respectful and patient way. Something that can’t be said for a lot of instructors in the aviation industry. Overall, I’ve had a great experience at CAA

Bill, the instructor, was a wonderful guide over the area and did a solid job of explaining the overall nuts and bolts of the flight. This flight school has a higher than average emergency landing/incident rate. I have spoken with several former Classic Air Aviation mechanics and have been told more than once that they have a reputation for unsafe maintenance practices.Edit in response to owner: Yes, I was a student at Classic Air Aviation. I do not use my real name online for privacy reasons. I was undergoing a flight lesson when the aircraft (Cessna 172) encountered a loss of primary flight controls (ailerons). Thank the lord we were on final and were able to land safely. The NTSB investigated (as they do in all aircraft incidents involving loss of primary flight control). My CFI left Classic Air shortly afterwards to go work for another flight school.Since you used quotation marks to imply that emergency landing is not an official term I will assume that you are not familiar with what an emergency landing is. Please allow me to enlighten you.An emergency landing is a prioritised landing made by an aircraft in response to an emergency containing an imminent or ongoing threat to the safety and operation of the aircraft or involving a sudden need for a passenger or crew on board to be on land, such as a medical emergency.

I wanted to post a picture of my time line to prove I have been here a few times, as some negative reviews seem to be questioning if the reviewer had ever been there. The first time I was in was because of booking issues on the online booking system and no one answering when I called. I went to the office to book an intro flight as an opportunity to find out if this is where I wanted to spend my money to get PPL training. I was on the fence after meeting the CFI and flying in N80511 on October 27, 2018. While I was flying, my fiancee was in the office where the office staff was talking about maintenance items on another aircraft and if they were going to complete it. The severity or full extent of what ever they were talking about is irrelevant as this shouldnt be talked about in front of a customer. I didnt make a decision about PPL training at this time due to life, holidays etcetera. So, after saving a bit more money to get the bulk of PPL training paid for, for both myself and my fiancee, we started looking at getting training actually started. I saw an opportunity for a scholarship from AOPA, but it had a requirement to have a student pilot certificate. We filed our our applications on IACRA site and got our FTNs. We needed a DPE or CFI that is a part of a Part 141 flight school, to verify identity to complete the application to get a student pilot certificate. We called Classic Air and asked if they would take care of this for us. They booked an hour appointment with a CFI for us and, when asked, said they take credit cards and to expect to pay less than $70 for the CFIs time. When we showed up for our appointment there was confusion about why we were there and when Robert, the CFI, came out he insulted my fiancee asking she was my mom. We are both in our 30s and two years different in age. Letting that go, we moved on to the reason we were there. Again, more confusion as he didnt know what to do. He went to the back and asked someone else, came back and logged to the FAA site, only to tell is he didnt have the endorsement needed, and we would have to reschedule. So, the front desk person confirmed (with Robert the CFI) that Lisa would be able to help us, and booked a new appointment for us for today. I adjusted my schedule to make sure I got to Classic Air before our appointment time, arrived early to walk in to construction in the office and confusion as to why we were there. The front desk person then called the CFI we had an appointment with only to be told she had left. We never got a call to inform us our appointment was canceled. I am glad I was able to have this experience before spending more money with them.

First off, I would like to thank Classic Air’s team in helping me reach my goal of obtaining a PPL. Overall, I believe your self-paced program did a good job. Given the fact I was getting my PPL for a hobby and the length of time I took, I had several different instructors with different training methods. The last instructor I had was Dylan. Dylan provided in-depth knowledge and did not come across as someone just wanting to accrue hours. He took the time to explain items in detail that had never been discussed in earlier training sessions by other instructors. Dylan by far the best instructor I had during the course of my training and should be considered an asset to your organization. I would recommend Classic Air, and specifically Dylan, to anyone seeking to obtain a PPL or for further ratings. Classic Air Aviation and all of their staff were professional, knowledgeable and always willing to help. I look forward to using Classic Air in the future for further training.

I have been training with Classic Air Aviation since the end of April, working on getting my PPL. My instructor, Jack Krahn, has been awesome to train with. He is very knowledgable when it comes to flying and all things aviation, if I have any questions for him, he almost immediately has an answer for me. He really cares about his students and wants to see them succeed through the program. On another hand, the maintenance team is always quick to jump on any issues that the aircrafts may have, and the overall facility is very well maintained.

This has got to be one of the worst flight schools in Arizona. I grew up around aviation and even started to get my private license a few years back, and I was looking to finish up. I saw Classic Air Aviation as an opportunity, every flight school has their issues and are never perfect but I would not recommend spending your money here. I cannot believe what I have heard about this place, broken and unairworthy planes, horrible owners and management, and students that have nearly 100 hours and still have not gotten their license. This place just wants to take your money, the insane rental rate is enough to keep most away. I walked in a few weekends ago looking for more information, the girl was the front desk gave me a pricing sheet and I even got to look around and see some of the planes. Their 172s looked like they were about to fall apart and they are charging over 200 dollars an hour to fly them! The rumors are true, this place is a complete mess. Spend your money elsewhere.

Then flying started and each time was more and more impressed with the quality of the instruction. There is a lot to learn and sometimes it feels like a hose on full blast, but they carefully navigate you through each area and before you know it that knowledge is learned and then confirmed with the instructor. I have been going to classic to earn my PPL for about a month now. My primary instructor, Kyle, just got hired by the Arizona Air National Guard and he demonstrates incredible aviation knowledge and is a great instructor. I have also flown with Ernesto a few times and he is also one of the best teachers I’ve ever had in my life. I’ve also had the privilege to fly with the senior instructor Bob who is a very calm cool and collected instructor. Long story short very experience I’ve had with this flight school has been amaizing. I feel like my I have gotten my $$ worth and I am actually quite under budget. I also really love the front desk staff who always make scheduling a pleasure and help cater to my busy life. Finally, being able to text my instructors whenever a question pops in my head 24/7 is awesome. I had an introductory flight scheduled fora 1230 show time. After driving 35 minutes from my house, the kind woman at the desk seemed confused as to why I was there. She asked“didn’t anyone contact you?” and I showed her the only correspondence(phone or email) I had from them, which was an email this morning confirming my appointment. After I was there for about four minutes and four minutes after my scheduled 1230 time, as I was standing in the office, I received an email saying my flight was canceled and asked if I wanted to book again. The woman, who was in a tough situation was a helpful as she could be, however now the next available time they had was over a week a way. I plan on attaining my ppl in the next few months and If I hadn’t already paid for this first flight, I would find somewhere else to do it. I will be finishing my flight training elsewhere,as they don’t seem to be very considerate of their customers time.

Not the first time I had a bad experience with Classic Air Aviation.First time was when they still offered scenic tours with gopro option. I called the day before to confirm flight and to make sure the gopro would be set up (it was for a proposal). After being reassured it would be set up, the day of it wasnt. After I told him that we didnt mind waiting for it to be set up he refused to.The most recent time was today when I booked a captains flight. It had been about 3 years since the last time I had booked with them. I wanted to give them another shot. I made the booking a month in advance, online like I was instructed to. Called same day That I made the booking to make sure it was going to be for the Captains Flight with an extra passenger. Lady on the phone said it was fine and all booked. Two days before the flight I called to confirm the Captains Flight was scheduled and was reassured it was. One day before the flight they called me to confirm. I show up and low and behold they didnt have it scheduled! This was after being reassured 3 different times that it was!If you are going to go with them make sure you get something in writing! They didnt seem too apologetic. They tried to make it seem like I was lucky that the could book me for the following weekend.Horrible experience.

I began my flight training not knowing much about the aviation community.I truly feel like there is an issue with the company because every month there seems to be new staff members throughout Classic Air Aviation. Also, examiners not wanting to examine here due to safety? I talked to a DPE in the area why he does not examine at this location. He replied, “I don’t feel comfortable being in their planes. I don’t know how their airworthy, but they somehow seem to be.”After hearing that, it all started to add up. Airplanes are always down for maintenance and maintenance logs aren’t presented to students to make sure the aircraft is receiving the required maintenance per the FAR. Airplanes are very old and too pricey compared to the competiting flight schools.Lastly, I’ve heard employees going arounf saying they despise the owner...It’s hard to take in these reviews being 5 stars, especially when majority of them are just intro flights from individuals that aren’t that knowledgeable with the Aviation community.Where are the 5 star reviews from actual flight students?

I got my Private with classic air about a year ago and they were an awesome FBO. I came back in to get some info about aircraft checkout for me and one other person and was treated very poorly. I was just trying to get some information on pricing and get a look at the new aircarft before going through the checkout process and was told rather rudely that I couldnt view any aircraft and was made to feel I was not welcome in the office.I have spent thousands of dollars at this FBO and was going to bring in more business from myself and another person. The least you can do is treat your customers with some manners and not seem like they are a burden when Im just trying to get some information.General Aviation in the USA is one of the friendliest communities I have ever been a part of. The vast majority of FBOs around the country (and I have been to a lot of them) are the most welcoming places. When your first line of contact is rude it really sours the experience.I will take my business to another FBO that has better service.

I cannot say enough about Classic Air Aviation. My wife had an introductory training flight with Classic Air. Her instructor Kyle Shemesh was terrific. He allowed my wife to do most of the flying. We soared over Canyon Lake, Fountain Hills etc. Kyle was very interactive with us, answering our questions and providing basic education about small plane fight. The Cessna was a great aircraft. This flight occurred on a milestone birthday for my wife. What happened after we landed was over the top. Carol Krumpos, the Customer Service Manager at CCA, had BAKED A BIRTHDAY CAKE for everyone to enjoy when we returned to the office, and had a beautifully framed certificate and photo for us to take home. Baloons, streamers, the works! Which group of people would do something like this for complete strangers like us? This was over-the-top wonderful, generous, fantastic. I LOVE CLASSIC AIR AVIATION. Unfortunately, I was just a passenger but I acquired the flying bug while I was there and cannot wait to return. All this for $154!!! Wow, Wow, Wow. Check this business out. You will love these guys and your trip into the skies. Thank you Kyle and Carol. You guys rock!

My Copilot Experience with Classic Air Aviation was phenomenal. I had read some bad reviews on others experiences recently but I had no where near the same experience.Booking was easy. I didn’t pay for the service ahead of time or through a third party such as Groupon. Instead, I booked online about two or three weeks ahead directly thru their site and waited for confirmation. When my confirmation came thru I actually upgraded my introductory flight to the Copilot experience for about $200. Everything was seemless from start to finish.I scheduled an early flight at 8am on a Sunday (highly recommend). The weather was cooler than triple digits which pays off when you’re in the aircraft for a period of time. It can get hot in the cockpit fast so be sure to dress for the weather. Traffic was also less than usual so I was seen right away and paired with my Instructor Adam. Getting in the air was pretty quick as well as we waited to take off behind maybe three or four other aircraft.I was highly impressed with the whole operation. Everyone was friendly, customer oriented and willing to teach! They answered all my questions and were very inviting to help me with moving forward in my instruction.Adam was a fantastic instructor. You can tell he is passionate about his career in aviation but just as passionate about teaching others. Of course, not only was he professional and knowledgeable but he was compassionate and reassuring. That was important tome because I was nervous to actually take controls over in the aircraft. But he walked me thru preflight, taxing, take off, and even steep turns. His confidence in teaching me these maneuvers helped me to walk away far more confident in my own flight interests.Overall, I’ll be back and I highly recommend their services!
