Based on the reviews this placed has declined tremendously. Based on my experience I feel we as students are self taught. This school throws material at you versus engagement. A lot of student couldn’t get out of certain classes. Is it the students or professors? Is it about success or money? It’s hard to tell. Their remediation sucks. It’s so many things wrong about the program. If my credits were transferable I would have already left Gwinnett with no hesitations. Pleassssse Stay clear if you can.

SCAM alert! If u want a good education do NOT bother with this school. That one star was for the admissions rep who sold me a dream , very deceiving! She lied about the nclex passing rates, lied about the school having accreditation and a BSN program. This school is unorganized and the materials don’t prepare you for their proctor exams that u must take with every core class. The faculty , the professors are very unprofessional. They do not inform their students or their new admissions of their probationary status .They have hesi exams at the end of some core classes that they do not prepare you for , if you do not pass their hesi exams then u automatically fail the class and u have to pay to repeat the entire class EVEN IF YOU ARE PASSING . As your punishment, you will repeat the same content and weak materials, even if u passed..... Let that sink in !I understand many schools have proctor exams but again, they offer no prep for the hesi, 15 students fail a pharm hesi last semester , some were repeating for the second and third time !!!! 15!!Yes the professors are unprofessional, they gossip about the students to other students. I opened up about my concerns about the school and the coarse work and the professor told the other students I’m just a gossiper (for spreading the facts ) and that I had no home training .I voiced my concerns to a professor about the exams not matching the class material and he basically made me out infront of the entire class as a “negative Nancy” rather than admit that there was an issue. Everyone agreed that the class work matched nothing that we were tested on in private but was afraid to speak up after his reaction towards me.Look at these scores, I made other students aware of their passing rate and probationary status, which they are responsible to do by law, and another students considered a friend and they went and told the don and her assistant . they came into the class and told the students not to listen to my “ gossip” . They actually blamed medtech for their poor passing scores and probationary status. When they bought the school YEARS ago and have plenty of time to make improvement , Shame . Don’t waste time are money here.Students are required to attend class in person , NO one was passing the exams on campus, so the school allowed students to stay home for their exams , and miraculously everyone’s grade went up to 80s and 90s ! Three words, copy and PASTE! The professors know students are cheating their way through the semesters, as long as they don’t have to struggle to actually teach they’re ok with it . I’m posting proof of their probationary STATUS because they Will not tell u this at the gate unless another negative Nancy student finds out and spreads the news*** the faculties inteGrity is extremely FLAWED!They have received our money from the Cares ACTs and because some of of decided to leave this school , for obvious reasons, they REFUSE TO ISSUE ARE CHECKS

The remediation is not great . Be prepared to take the Hessi for certain classes. If you have an A in the class and fail the Hessi for that class be prepared to retake the class you will not proceed and they will not let you take any other classes while repeating . If you are full time you will end up part time and have to pay for the class out of pocket on top of your loan and financial aid . I was so excited to attend but the Hessi has stopped me fromMoving forward with this school. I took a class two times and still did not pass the Hessi remediation was basically repeating the class same material same homework . Didn’t really learn anything new . When they tell you the program is 12-14 months be prepared for longer if you fail the Hessi for that class as repeating the class puts you behind.

Currently in school their the school isn’t so bad I feel like it’s ok if you have your life together the classes feel rushed you don’t really learn anything everyone I have been with including myself feels as if we had to teach ourselves. The lady at the front desk has nothing to do with how the programs are ran some teachers care, some don’t. I love MOST OF MY TEACHER BUT THEY ARE TOUCH.... bottom line if you aren’t good under pressure if you don’t have a 12345 back up plan, or good at working at a REALLY REALLY FAST PACE this is NOT the school you have to take prerequisites the first 3 months and then you are starting the main classes really expensive to but they work on you with a payment plan I’m still going so that should say something!!!!

I was so impressed with Mary at the front desk. She made me feel welcome, cared about what I needed and communication between her and the other staff and visitors was second to none.Unfortunately the allied health program is not at all strong. Outdated books, organized to a point but not as organized as the well established colleges, no structure to the rules and regulations for student attendance policy, because the program is so small, students get away with treating staff and instructors badly, staff needs to pay attention to educational detail to guide students in the correct direction and not make rules and regulations as they go day to day, some instructors that are there just for a paycheck, very bad relations between Nursing Program staff and Allied Health staff because one thinks they are better than the other and look to create drama to cause low moral for staff and students, and the financial struggles month after month that any school gas, but very disorganized on how they deal with the struggles. Advice, spend your money at a better college or institute so you can have a well rounded education with a school that makes sense.

Please just go with a state school. You will get a sub par education in comparison here. I ran out of there and will be going elsewhere. This school is all about money. The director and admissions are full of it. They are pleasant and nice but you can tell right away. Ask questions. They are currently on probation as well. I do believe that they have made improvements but I will not over pay for an institute like this when I can pay less for a better school. The students are not happy, so much so that I was warned by a few of them just walking the hall.

I graduated from the RN program at Gwinnett Institute July 1, 2019. Less than 3 weeks later I passed the NCLEX on the first try! The school providing me all the necessary tools to pass this exam. The instructors made theirselves available for tutoring, not only with nursing/patient topics but with hands on skills. I also really felt like the staff cared about me. If I ever had a problem, as a student or in my personal life, I always had someone I could go to. The administration literally kept their doors open for the students. I would recommend this school to anyone looking for an education in health care. My name is Shelli Oliver.First off I want to say thank you to all the staff and faculty. You pushed me and held high expectations over me. This school is definitely one that you will get what you give. It’s not designed to be easy. You will only be as prepared as you decide you want to be. This school gives you the tools for success but you have to use them you have to give 110% and use no excuses. Your challenged and pushed and expected to succeed. If your struggling the faculty will do all that they can to help you. Things have changed a lot since I first started. Expectations are higher and there are no free passes, as it should be. Not one person there wants to see you fail. Every school has drama, bad reviews, negativity, he said she said, students feeding off of each other and those that want to see you fail. Putting all that aside I’d recommend Gwinnett. Going in knowing you can and you will sets you up for great things. I did the bridge LPN to RN program in a year. I finished in March 2018 tested in May 2018 and now I’m working. I’m proud of where I am and I’m proud of what I did to get here.

Other teachers barely showed up to work or taught in a way that no one could understand. The Nursing Students learn how to take care for children and adults with down syndrome, CP, hydrocephalus, alcohol fetal syndrome and so many more diagnosis. I have been so impressed with the nursing students that come out with their Instructors to learn how to care for those who can not care for themselves and who can not communicate with you as well as others and you sometimes have to figure things out by taking more time and a lot more patients. These students do this and they do it with a smile on their face and compassion it shows through the direction that is giving to them by their instructors that comes out with them on each visit. I had the pleasure of working with Susan Euliano at Gwinnett Institute during the Holiday season. She was organizing a toy drive, food drive for the benefit of the families of the students who attend classes at Gwinnett. Many of the students have sacrificed jobs and income in order to continue their education and for the betterment of their future- but making the holidays extremely difficult for many of the single parents who attend Gwinnett. I was honored to proivde toy donations to this school. I found that the staff and administration at this campus truly work hard to provide their students with all the necessary tools required to make a difference in the educational journey of their students and more importantly have created a community environment for both faculty and students alike that appear to have reached far beyond the walls of a classroom.

When I started in this school I started out as a medical assistant. I was so excited that I had made this step in my life. I knew that I was doing this for my kids, which is what really made me feel so good. During the program there were some struggles of course ( which in my case was life). My teachers were always understanding and helpful to me. I learned a lot and enjoyed all the hands on. I made some really good friends and even became close with my teacher Ms. Sonia Adams. She was like a mom, always looking out for me, helping me, gave the best advise, when I wanted to quit she was there, when I would get test anxiety she would help out by keeping me clam. I have to admit Ms. Adams was my guardian angel at times.. There also was a lot of changes going on and at times I would get frustrated with the school, but everything worked itself out in the end. I am now a certified medical assistant and recently graduated on August 11th. I am so happy that I made it through. Now my next step is to work on becoming Registered Nurse. If I could give this school 0 stars I would first off I would like to start with the teachers attitudes are very rude this school is so stressful forget you suppose to leave whatever problems at the door not for the teachers they Mrs newhart and roxi take whatever there going through out on the students Roxy is very bipolar tell you one thing then change it we did all our homework on canvas and submit all I work for her to tell us she havent got any work that we need to call canvas to get our grade this havent work since we started school and she would tell us we have to talk to the school about canvas I thought since she is the teacher she suppose to see why the program she using for her class is not working Ms newhard will yell at you and curse What the hell are you doing if you doing a skill wrong that was taught by the other 3 clinical teachers they clearly dont communicate on the skills you can tell its some feuding going on with roxi and newhard when Roxy teaching newhard will just come in Roxi class in take over teaching alice was teaching a skill before the clinical exam and I asked a question on why isnt she teaching us with all the tools that we going to have to grab for the test tomorrow because if its not taught I wont grab that tool she said in the real world you probably wont have it I said well if Mrs newhard testing us tomorrow and we dont grab every tool for the skill we got to perform is it OK for me to say the real world is not going to have it so thats why I didnt grab it she got mad at me for saying that and yelled at me never have enough tools for teaching us clinicals Alice remarks its the teacher which is Roxy fault because shes not ordering things thats needed they tell us to read the book and watch videos and there not even teaching the way the book or videos are if you want to come to a unorganized drama filled school please come here so many students complain about this school thats almost done saying they want to quit buts its to late Im quitting now I prefer to owe and find another school that has organization and no drama I wish I could of did my research on this school when the girl that go there now told me its different its not like 2 years ago the teaching could be online they use powerpoints right out the book line by line this school only gets your money really think about if you want to pay 27000 to this school for all this drama and can not take your credits if you want to transfer schools o yeah its only 7 lpn students in my class

What ever you do dont attend this school. This school is a ripoff and every semester new teachers and they always hiring a new DON and staff are either quitting or getting fire. This place is never on point very disorganize and cooperate always have to come to down to get things in order but once they leave everything falls apart. Plus this school is on probation. What ever you dont attend this school go some where else. I would not recommend this school to my worst enemy.

I had a wonderful experience as a LPN,that I decided to come back to do my RN.all my professors where the best, very knowledgeful, worked along very well with me,and just plain amazing. I felt ready to pass boards. The opportunity was definitely there for the grabbing. I graduated Sept, took boards November and started working in ORMC in neuro trauma.I thank Mr.Fink for planting and growing the seed for my new found passion in Neuro. Gwinnett is definitely the place to be when it comes to growing in your future and path.

I recieved my LPN here 3 years ago. Now I have recieved my RN. The instructors are caring and compassionate. They teach you what you need to know to pass your nclex. This school keeps on improving. Thanks to the encouragment I recieved from the staff I have reached my goal of becoming a RN.

This has to be the worst school ever! I would not recommend this to anyone!! I took phlebotomy and the school never had any supplies. There books were not up to date, they didnt have our scrubs on time took like 2 Saturdays to get them, you have to fight with other teachers to get the lab room to work on your sticks or you have to worry about the other teachers hiding supplies because theirs barely enough for everyone. You have to have 31 sticks at the end of the course so if you dont have enough people in your class you have to bring family and friends in to help you, if you cant do that your screwed and you cant get your certification till you finish that. They supply you with a practice exam and tutorials but the system is not up to date so you cant use it.My whole class got into a big argument with the adviser and she is very disrespectful she will argue back with you. looking into legal advice for this problem. PLEASE SAVE YOUR MONEY THIS SCHOOL IS HORRIBLE!!!!

No clinicals for 2 terms and yet u pay 24k unbelievable I hate this school so much u teach ur self. The good teachers always leave and the ones that talk to you like your slow and put you down are still here. Very unprofessional and unorganized. U dont get no supplies like other schools but u think u would since u pay so much money. They changed their name to something else which is very questionable in all reality I hate this school will not come back for the RN program. Dont come here I promise you will regret it. Take your money to a real school that will provide you what you need to become a great nurse. If I can give zero stars I would. -one pissed off student still enrolled-

I litteraly have been attending there for 1 month and 1/2 and iam already withdrawing. Staff are not helpful with guidance and instructors are not giving the tools to succeed. The evolve (student portal) has a glitch and our grades went down for that reason. False information was given to student in reference to clinical hours and as single working mother there was no way that could rearranged my schedule for the second time. Staff, especially the director of nursing was just not a people person, very nasty and unpleasant to speak to. I would NOT recommend this school to anyone.

This school is a joke! Starting with the director William Atkinson who is having an affair with my financial aid person Jennifer Sladek. Every time I go to ask her a question she is either outside smoking or in Mr. Atkinsons office. Several students have seeing them kissing in the parking lot. Is this the example of education and values that this school is trying to show their students? The Cuban guy with a limp, Jay, is only friendly with the girls and rude with the guys.I hope that someone does something soon about the behavior of these people that instead of caring about the students education are using the school as a hook up place to have their ove affairs.Paco Perez - Pierre

Came to the school in 2015, looking for Night Nursing classes to advance my Career. It was a long and dusty road. Mrs. Lucas will root for you, call you endlessly for the coming days into Nclex. Mrs L our DON, can be a scary lady. But if you go correct and respectful shell go to the ends of the earth. Yes, its a lot of money to attend this school. Yes, Khem is one of the hardest to find. I had failed one class, and it was tuff. But our Assistant director of nursing, was there. The very teacher who had to fail me was there. Each of them in that next semester railed and came though. Its not about going all angry, frustrated and saying well theyre unorganized, they aint prepared. Yes, the staff does as much as they can within 2 days of classes ending to beginning. I even saw one of my Favorite Quarter back teachers, ask can we come in on the weekend to help prep. This lady needed a weekend off on a beach with a drink... AN she wanted to take time away from her self to get ready. Thats the kind of teachers we have. They will all help you. Even Mr. Akins, he might sit in his office and like that High School Assistant Principle... Though youd never know he was just another normal dude rooting for his stealers.Above all, you get what you put into this Program. If you give it everything to your last penny, or your last drop of blood. An you dont fuss out teachers, or fuss out Administration.. Theyll be the first ones, to brush you off. Pep you back up, and then root for you, call you endlessly, and give you every opportunity.Oh, and yes I did go back for my RN, was in classes while studying for my Nclex, and I work in Polk county. So yes, its possible, its doable.Phil Bonosconi LPN

I disagree with alot of the negative feedback when it comes to gwinnett institute formly known as (medtech institute). My experience has been good so much I am in my third semester and I graduate in Dec of 2017. I look forward to graduating and working as a nurse in the work field. With any school there will be ups and downs but your experience is what you make of it. So you can choose to either worry about complaing and or go to school and have a positive outlook on everything and move through your nursing career. Nothing that is worth it will be easy you have to study, prioritize your time ! What you put in is what you will get out with any school you have to come in and forget everything from your outside world and come in and give it all you have. The instructors and administration are pleasant if you have any questions they are willing to help and if they dont know the answer they will find someone that does. So with saying all of this NEVER GIVE UP keep pushing its a small sacrifice for a big outcome

Im in the Medical Assistant program an i have to say I absolutely love my instructors an professors their on point!! Its what you make of it if you want to succeed an be successful then their there to help make sure you achieve those goals!! My GPA is a 4.0 because Ive earned it... Im also going to be taking the IV Therapy yes they offer that as well as phlebotomy which will be taking the national exam soon..next year going for my RN.. hands down met a lot of great people an friends..love what you do an be amazing at it!! I graduate this August 2016 whoop whoop!!!!😁😁😁one more thing its hilarious to me how ppl complain an say its NOT a good school WELL if your actually IN CLASSES an pay attention do what your supposed to do then you will get an education!! If you dont come to school like EVER then dont expect to pass any exams or clinical labs or even get your vitals or venipunctures hmmm why cuz YOU decide NOT to come to CLASSES..so before bashing a college thats willing to go that extra mile you have to meet half way cant expect to be successful if youre NEVER IN CLASS!! Have a wicked awesome day an spring break April 1-10, 2016 its well deserved!!
