Such a great gym — solid family environment and the people are fantastic. One of my favorite things Professor Taniel teaches is how to strive not only to be a black belt in BJJ, but a black belt in life. This place has very quickly become family.

The owners were very nice & texted with my husband to accommodate our son to participate in a session. We joined for a year & my son loves learning jiu-jitsu. I was surprised at the number of participants in both the children & adult classes. The facility is very clean & family oriented.

We are in the 6-12 year old class. Professor is great with the kids and great teacher. The coaches are really knowledgeable. The gym is clean, well stocked if you forget something. Youll enjoy this place.

My daughter first started Bjj at Ares Bjj Sanford. This gym has the most amazing professor and owners. The discipline that is instilled in all the children, while also learning teamwork and respect is phenomenal. We have since moved and my daughter continually talks about how she misses this gym. I cannot say enough good things about this gym.

This is the go-to jiujitsu gym in NC! Professor Taniel, Coach Brad, and Bill run a great program for kids and adults. This gym provides great value for the price, offering evening classes five nights a week and open mat on Saturday. If you’re looking to compete, Professor Taniel’s approach will get you ready. It’s obvious that this place cares about their students. The family atmosphere and team focus is what sets this gym apart from everywhere else.

They are awesome and VERY hospitable, I trained here for a couple of months and felt at home every night and learned so much from professor Abu and won three gold medals and a silver medal due to the hard training!!! This is definitely the place to go!

Team ABU/ Ares BJJ Sanfords Professor Taniel and Coaches are incredible with all Ages ; Myself (37 Y.O.) and my 2 Childern (8&11) all train here. Professor Taniel is very flexible with his instruction styles being able to coach kids as young as 4 and adults. Very Family Friendly and professional environment. Quality classes, customer service exceeded my expectations, very clean mats and facility you tell they take a lot of pride in their school. The bad. One of the owners seems to have an issue with the truth. He has told several members that he is everything from a Special Forces Sergeant to a Delta Force operator, conducted missions so secret while in a Special Mission Unit he cant discuss, etc. I thought I was alone in this experience until I spoke to others from the gym who had similar experiences and I am sure we are not alone. He is a administrative, personnelist. This is unacceptable anywhere but not very smart in an area with a heavy military population and the home of special operations. He will not be getting my money and Im sure his lack of integrity will catch up to him.The Good. The training and the black belt instructor are the real deal. A bit formal and pretty intense environment however. Skill level of the students peak at a few blue belts so not a broad variety of experienced folks to share knowledge, just reliant on the coach for guidance. It is a legitimate gym.I would give 3 stars for the actual BJJ experience but I cant stomach Mr. Stolen valor.
