Very excellent martial arts school. This school will teach and model actual martial arts. The teachers work very well to engage the students, and they lead by example. Im very happy that my son has been taking lessons here for over a year.

This place has been around for as long as I can remember. Definitely the best martial arts studio in Scottsdale. I dont think theres another thats been around for as long as they have. Staff is super knowledgeable and impressive as well. And its a great place to send your kids. You cant go wrong!

Wow! I am blown away by this martial arts center in Scottsdale! We literally just started our 5-year old son here a couple of months ago and I am so impressed by how wonderful the staff are. Our son is usually so incredibly shy and introverted, but I can already see him starting to open up and be more confident! This is such a great place for kids. They actually care about you!

Our son had his belt test here yesterday and we are over the moon excited about his progress in karate. As a parent, you always want the best for your child. And this place offers the best karate training anywhere that Ive heard. Thats not just me talking. Every parent Ive talked to here has said the same thing. After trying a number of other places nearby, were so glad we chose this one.

Sensei Tyler and Sensei Ray are the BEST! My Son has been attending for the past year, and absolutely loves class. While they teach traditional Karate techniques, they also teach their young students so much more regarding life lessons and how to deal with pressure and losing and winning. This has been one of the best experiences for any of my children. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

My two daughters having been attending Scottsdale Martial Arts Center (SMAC) for nearly 2 years and I have joined recently over the past few months myself. Before having my daughters attend this dojo, I studied several other schools in the area and found Sensai Ray, Sensai Tyler, Sensai Duane and the other instructors to be absolutely outstanding. I have studied martial arts for decades and was looking for a dojo that practiced both tradition and modern martial arts. SMAC offers Wado style training with classes focused on kata, basic technique, sparring, weapons and grappling. My daughters love training several times weekly and it has enhanced their self confidence and physical abilities immensely. I personally enjoy the discipline, exercise and time away from the dreaded cell phone for a few hours a week. SMAC is great for kids and adults. Go check them out! P.S. To the adults - you may train as hard as you like, practicing kata and technique only, or add on sparring and jujitsu as you see fit. SMAC offers a safe a fun place to train.
