My favorite salon in Chicago! Outstanding customer service and color stylist. Thank you

5 year old son and I got haircuts from Booze. Haircuts look great and Booze asked us great questions beyond what we like, how much effort do you really want to spend on your hair each day styling? Was a great one and it influenced the final shape so I got what I want at a level of home care Im willing to spend.And Booze asked my son appropriate levels of questions so that my son felt like it was his cut, and not whatever I wanted.Was my second cut and will be going back with child for as long as Booze is there.

Found the salon online through Bbs product website, was impressed by covid-19 safety protocols on their Instagram page which led me to make an appt. Loved Tara! She was patient and had expert advice/skills on my long thick hair. Will definitely be back!

They take covid precautions very seriously! ally did an excellent balayage for me and made sure to explain what was happening with my hair as well the process. i also love the precautions taken during blowdrying. will definitely come back

Rob has been my favorite since we moved to the neighborhood. He knows how to cut curly hair and is honest with feedback when I bring in picture inspiration. Hes also a sweet pea!

Writing this specifically to compliment and recommend Tammie. I was a walk-in and had the great luck of sitting in her chair. I got a pretty dramatic cut, chopping my long hair into a bob, and I couldn’t be happier. Even without inspiration photos or the clearest direction from me, Tammie asked all the right questions and really took the time to figure out what I was looking for and how she could best achieve it. I’m so happy with the cut and with the experience. I cannot recommend her more highly. She is incredibly talented, engaging, and professional.

I moved from Chicago 3 years ago and I am still searching for a cut that is of the quality I received from Booze. THREE. YEARS. I have been to so many shops in my new city and I just cannot find anyone that can hold a candle to him. Seriously, if you are in Chicago and need a haircut, go see Booze!

Okay, I just have to say Art + Science Salon Wicker Park is so amazing! I love love love Fritz. I have never had a hair cut that looks great from day one and grows out to look amazing until I started going to Fritz. He really has a gift for this. His choice of color for my hair is always spot on too. The salon looks really cool and has a great vibe.

Tammie is incredible! She perfected my cut like no other stylist ever has. Also, have always felt very welcome in this salon in general. I have worked with a few different stylists (Vanessa is amazing at color) as a hair model and have had the opportunity to interact with so many unique and grounded personalities. Ive definitely found my forever place and always leave here feeling refreshed and inspired!

I went to the Wicker Park location this afternoon and had Vanessa as my colorist and Tammie as my stylist. I just moved here and did not have a familiar hair salon. This salon squeezed me in last minute and every single person working here was pleasant. But my colorist and stylist were beyond phenomenal and I could not recommend them more! Will stick with them for a long time :)

Love the vibe of this place, and the staff is always friendly.Cole has colored my hair the past two times Ive been. She clarifies what Im looking for and recommends what would look best and grow out the easiest. Coles easy to talk to and great at what she does.Lauren has cut my hair for almost a year and a half now and I never leave disappointed. The bob is always the perfect length, and when she styles my curly/wavy hair I cant get over how good it looks for days.There was an error in booking my appointment time before last, and the way management handled the situation won me over even more. Definitely will keep on coming here!

I assured her I was thankful for the apology, totally understand, but will be going somewhere else tomorrow. I appreciate that she owned the issue - agreeing that there could have been communication.Original review: I had such high expectations! Scheduled my first appointment two days before coming in. 7:15 in the evening. I showed up a little early - not a problem waiting for that. Not having met my stylist before, I people-watched in the waiting area for a half hour before going to reception and asking roughly when I could expect to be seen. Turns out I was sitting right by my stylist the whole time - but she was in the midst of seeing her second person since I had been sitting there. Just a trim, but why did I schedule an appointment? Why had no one said anything?I was told it would be about 10 more minutes, so I kindly said I was going to have to go.If there had been any type of open communication about what was going on - that the day was busy, something they didnt anticipate had happened, anything really - I would have understood. And most likely rescheduled for a later date since I didnt have a couple hours to commit to a trim that night. But instead, no one said a word. Really poor introduction to the salon. It doesnt matter how good the haircut is - I felt totally ignored and unappreciated.

Im insanely picky about the way I want my hair to be cut. I can honestly say I had best haircut of my life thanks to Jessica. She understood everything I wanted and provided some great suggestions as well. Great service overall, and a free neck trim is included for touch-ups in between cuts.

I have been trying to find a replacement for my previous salon experience, which was mediocre at best. I was encouraged to try Art & Science, including a recommendation for a stylist by the name of Seven. I feel so strongly about my experience there that I am compelled to write this. My experience there was fantastic. The front desk staff were attentive and kind and Seven was cheerful, receptive to my ideas, and made it a very comfortable, collaborative experience. I brought in images of the style I most wanted and she did not dismiss as other stylists have. She explained to me what the style would be like and asked many important questions about how I style my hair, what I utilize, and whether I like low or high maintenance styling. It was such a refreshing experience and she duplicated the style I showed her, adding her own flare. It feels great and looks even better. I highly recommend this salon and especially Seven.

I lived in Chicago and always wanted to go to Art+Science, but it never worked out for various reasons. I finally went last month and saw Rob Reyes. He did an amazing job. Im so sad I dont live in Chicago anymore! He truly knows and loves his craft (and even understands curly hair.) Thank you, Rob!

Was able to squeeze me in for a cleaning up on somewhat of a short notice during a week long business trip. Very skilled, knowledgeable and friendly bunch of folks all around, a great place for a decent haircut. I had a great experience, will definitely come back when in the area and finding that I’m in need of a cut.

Sweetest staff! My mom got pooped on by a bird ....really pooped on, and even though they were fully booked, they let us use their washroom and dry her hair. great hospitality, gorgeous space and warm hearts! Definitely would return to get my hair done next time Im in Chicago

Clean elegant place. Been going there for at least 6 months . Polite and efficient front desk. Theyre always on top of scheduling and appointments. Shout out to Lauren who gives the best textured bobs on thick hair.

Rob is amazing!! He made my hair beautiful again! I have semi-fine, wavy curly hair... I had previously been to a salon specializing in Deva Curl cuts. My advice, dont fall for that gimmick. Go to someone who truly knows how to cut hair. He listened & made my vision come to life...but Im also pretty flexible and reasonable with what my hair needs in order to achieve a certain look (i.e. cutting off some inches of damage). Rob cut the best angled bob I have ever had. Hes pricier than most since hes the artistic director, BUT so worth it!

I haven’t had short hair for 10 years so naturally I came to Art + Science to go from mermaid long to a lob(I read an article that named it best place to get a chop). I’m so glad I did, I’ve never been this happy about a haircut!!! Thank you to Hannah the angel for steering me in the right direction and for my favorite haircut in the longest time!

This salon is unpretentious, clean and punctual. Everyone who works there is super friendly. Theyre not cheap, but its worth the price since they do excellent work.

Mitra did a fantastic job! She was very friendly and thorough. She took the time to analyze my hair and talk through my expectations. She also communicated what she thought was best and we decided together went above and beyond to make sure each section of my hair looked right! Very happy customer!

Ive been coming to this salon for years. The service is great. All of their stylist have a lot of trainings and exposure to high fashion events. Jessica takes the time to listen and understand the look Im going for.

Been going here for 6+ months now and have had a few folks cutting my hair here. I typically see Katie unless shes booked up and Im in a pinch, and she does a great job giving me a good looking haircut every time. Im the kind of guy who doesnt really want to put a lot of time into my hair and I have no idea what looks good on me but Katie has been able to consistently give me great haircuts every time that my wife loves. Its also conveniently located a short walk from the blue line.

I have going to this salon for almost a year and my experience has been worth every penny! I have worked with both Tara and Mitra and have had some of the best haircuts of my life. They are both super talented, receptive stylists. Highly recommend!!

Theyve got nights where students cut/color your hair, so I gave them a try. It took a bit longer than usual, as each step of the way, the student needs to check in to make sure shes doing it correctly, but other than that, she perfectly matched the color I had, and freshened it up.Will definitely be back on the nights I can skip out of work a bit earlier to pamper myself :)

I always seem to come back to this salon. I came here a long time ago, then left when my stylist left and followed her for a bit. Eventually I came back and havent left since. They train their stylists really well here - they really do know how to cut different types of hair and style it best for you. Currently I see Seven and she is great. I hardly ever go in because Im growing my hair out, but it doesnt matter, she still remembers and knows how to cut my hair well every time.

This place is great! Paul gave me one of the best haircuts I have ever had. I also really enjoy the atmosphere and cleanliness of the shop, everyone is very friendly and welcoming. This crew really knows hair!

This is a great salon with excellent service. My barber was very helpful and gave me a wonderful cut. It was precise and complimented my looks. The setting was very clean and professional, and they even offered me a beverage when I came in for my appointment.

I came in on a model day and was able to get a discounted service--base color and hilights for ten bucks! I really enjoyed my service and they treated me like a regular customer and did an amazing job! I have a lot of creative color in my hair, red and purple, so many salons are a little intimidated to do anything to my hair, but they seemed like experts and knew how to give me exactly how I wanted! I am more than happy to recommend them to all my friends and I have become a regular client myself!

Tara has been cutting my hair here for years. She has a keen eye for detail, is easy to collaborate with, and has a great personality. Shes the best!

I was a walk in so i was expecting a bit of a wait, but luckily they werent too busy. I didnt get the stylists name but he did an excellent job with my hair. It was a very pleasant experience, particularly the shampoo and conditioner wash.

I’ve been coming here since high school! Ivan and Cole have both done amazing balayages on my hair, and Lauren gives an amazing cut. I don’t even bring reference photos anymore and they nail it every time. Complimentary tea and coffee is always offered, and the space is beautiful.

Convenient location, nice atmosphere, the best hairstyles at reasonable prices and great customer care. Just give them a try.

I love visiting this salon because honestly I always have great service and Ivan is by far the best colorist in the entire city of Chicago because not only does he truly know how to listen to his customers he knows how to deliver exactly what you want without causing your hair an inch of damage. I had a bad color treatment three weeks ago and had to have a ton of hot pink removed from my already bleached silver hair. After two separate color removal sessions at a different salon I decided to entrust Ivan with some fun chunky white highlights around my crown and my heavy fringe. It simply bothered me that my pinch braid extensions were pure white but my fringe and my crown were still a light shade of champagne pink. Ivan carefully blended in some fun white back into my hair and I really deeply appreciate the fact that my hair feels like silk and there is absolutely no damage at all. I have a tendency to travel quite often and I entrust other people to work with hair for bleach and tone and I can honestly say Ivan is the very best colorist I have ever met because he takes his time, he never creates damage to your hair and he gets it right the first time. He is sometimes available on the same day if you are lucky but I advise everyone to give him a full weeks notice if its the salons busier season. I am so grateful Ivan was able to see me today and I am sticking with him for a long long time. Everyone here is quite friendly, upbeat and positive so you will really enjoy your services at Art and Science.

The place is nice but i just got the worst haircut i have ever gotten. i explained to my stylist with pictures of what i wanted, asked her to please not cut any length off as ive had short hair for a while and hate it and it has taken a while for it to grow to shoulder length. all i wanted was a bit of choppiness at the ends. she cut it right back up to where i started and put in long layers that make me look like a mushroom (fluffy cap and a flare stem) ugh. this haircut makes no sense and theres no way to fix it without cutting my hair up to my chin. i really hate it. it makes no sense with my face.

Have been coming here to get my hair cut for the better part of 4 years. Although my visits grew less frequent after moving to Denver, I still relished the occasion when I could swing by Art + Science to see Ashley during my trips back to Chicago. Ony latest trip, traffic and tardiness curtailed my appointment, which I understood, presuming that there is someone booked after me.However, not only was I her last of the day, but I was also charged $40 for a 10 minute trim that left my beard assymetrical and misshapen. This after fondly remembering times when I was proud to have a 20% VIP card from days of yore, that unfortunately was not on my person this time. Twas a disheartening experience, and one sufficient to prevent me from returning to the salon.3 stars for location and stylists (typical) prowess.

My personal experience with this place is kinda unpleasant. I used their group on I guess 2 times and 2 times regular pricing.I get the concept of being a master of your own job and putting all the effort and trying to get whatever the money value for it. But asking 57USD for an haircut is kinda unbelievable. Beard shave 45USD or trim 25USD. Is this a joke? And during the hair cut almost only using the trimmer not even bothering to use scissors?Good luck with the business. Hope there will be a price and service regulation adjustment.

Not what it used to be. Not even close.If you are a long time customer used to personalized quality service it is time to find another salon.Just another too busy salon with too many customers cashing in an overcrowded neighborhood with too much demand.Sorry.

Negative starsSusan gave me a chemical burn on my scalp. My scalp was on fyah (and not in a good way) for a week. Contrast that with: a year later, a colorist at Pixie Salon bleached my hair to platinum and I didntt get burned at all.Hannah at A+S gave me 1 of the worst hair cuts Ive ever had and thats odd because she had the hairstyle I wanted... Im mean, girl, just look in the mirror. how could she get it wrong ?

I seriously very disappointed with their service. I thought it is a best salon but I was wrong. Their behavior was worst, it was my first time and they were acting like they dont want to work or something, they took money and gave me the worst service ever. Ill never recommend this salon to anyone.

Incredible haircut

My haircut lasted me only 2 weeks because the person did not cut it properly... used shears instead of a razor like I had suggested. The hair ended up not sitting properly and needed to go somewhere else to fix it up. Given the cut was $50 and didn’t last me long, I’d make sure you are explicit in what you are getting otherwise it’s not worth it.
