The 3 babers that I have encountered during my three visits did amazing jobs, good conversation and quality cuts. However, to the overseers running the place, no need to sit behind the customer service desk and mean mug me as Im leaving. I wont be back. Totally uncomfortable experience

The Denmark fiber college is a wonderful place to go for a cheap easy and efficient hair cut. Almost everything is done by students that are trained by instructors or supervised by instructors. For $8 a man can go in get a quick haircut done by a Barber the 10 training. That Barber typically has to spend 2000 hours getting his state license. They do not let a Barber go out and do anything on a real persons hair until after theyve accumulated so many hours. It may take a little longer to get a haircut done because they are still training but over all they do a fine job for a mans $8 haircut

Ive been going there since they open about 6 years ago I dont go nowhere else

Would reccomend any one needing a haircut, Denmark College is the place to be, Veterans cuts for free, everybody else 8 dollars

Denmark has served me well over the past 3 years. The receptionist and barbers are cordial and professional. The student barbers are well supervised.

Hope to get my usually good pre-pandemic haircut tomorrow. Havent had a haircut in a while.

I was sceptical at the beginning, but it turned out to be an amazing experience. It was interesting to see the students practicing and the haircut turned out great. Of course, since you get an haircut from students, the haircut could turn out less satisfying, but you also pay only $8 and give the students a chance to learn properly. I think thats worth the risk!

One of the best barber shops in Chicago with a great price. The staff are friendly and professional. The shop is surrounded by food restaurants, public transportation, the library, colleges, CVS Pharmacy, and other key stores. I would definitely recommend this place for people of all ages and races. This is a nice place to get a fast and simple cut.

I would grandly like to thank the Barber School for the impeccable attention and grace shown me this morning on which may have proven quite the trial for one careful, courageous and patient barber, Trisfson Brooks. This young man is an asset and testament to this school which provides an invaluable education for many and unforgettable and recommended experience for all. I have attended the School on a number of occasions and been greatly impressed by the professionalism and quality of the service rendered. This occasion was no exception yet again proving a rule. For those of you unacquainted with such, do so, I heartily recommend this place, a cultural gem set in the jewel of the Loop, It shines all the brighter for such. Thanks again Trisfson!

They do a good job cutting your hair, keep in mind its done by students with supervision. Its nice if you can find a coupon for a haircut for $4 that is good either Monday-Wednesday or Monday-Thursday, they do exist!

I had gone to beauty school for hair cut before and was ok with the price and services but not this one. If you are the one who want to shave your head will be fine but not with a real haircut. Do not expect the teacher will able to fix the mistakes by the students as well. There was no supervision on the students while doing the haircut. Sometimes the teachers need to totally redo the cuts. The student that I had was NOT trying to be a professional as well. She has long nails and was hurting me while she was try to make the cut. She would rather to say sorry than to give up her party look nail. After the cut, the teacher did not see the problem and even with the redone by him and still look so bad that my friends told me I cut my own hair. This is a very bad experience from this beauty school – bad news.

I was very skeptical at first, and expected to get absolutely butchered. I went in for a shave and a mens haircut, each was $8, my total came to $16, which they have you prepay.Alex, the student who provided my haircut and shave, was very polite, attentive, and thorough. My haircut came out just a little too short, but nothing to cause any concern whatsoever. I still look professional and presentable. Ive had terrible experiences at the HairCuttery just north of Roosevelt and paid a lot more for a lot worse.It was kind of fun getting the shave, because I attracted a small gathering of spectators. You have to remember, these are young adults in trade school. These are not seasoned professionals with college degrees, theyre kids, so they havent learned a lot of the nuances of the trade yet.Alex, however, was a lot more mature than the rest, and very focused on providing an excellent experience, which he did. He has very steady hands, and exercised a lot of caution during the shave. At one point, he was about to shave at an angle that I could tell was going to cut me. He sensed it too and changed the angle. The shave was one of the best straight-razor shaves Ive ever had, and I left the chair without a scrape.When you go here, you should definitely monitor the students progress and provide guidance and constructive feedback. For the overall value, I will definitely return.
