My wife and I just finished the weekend classes…great course! Paul is an excellent instructor with a very pleasant and engaging teaching style. He makes everyone feel welcome and comfortable regardless of their level of familiarity with guns and the law. He’s also very good at presenting a lot of information in a way that’s interesting and easily digestible. I took a similar course in Florida many years ago and Paul’s presentation of the material is far better, no comparison. Because of COVID we did part of the course in our vehicles, the didactic portion, while Paul was broadcasting from inside via a live FB feed and it worked great, and the practical stuff was done in small groups in the classroom and at the range. Again, great experience, really glad we took the course :)

I’d give you more stars but google only allows 5. Just finished his 16 hour drive in class, and it was great I learned a lot, Paul made the class simple and easy and he made sure that you knew what was going on and if you had questions he would answer them all. He is very clear to what he does, teaches and what he explains, very cool and professional person. The hands on part of the class was great too, especially the cleaning and the maintenance to it, the reading part teaches you a lot of things too. I recommend taking Paul’s Illinois carry and concealed class... 16 hours of my life well spent, thank you so much Paul for the knowledge and my certification and see you again for the renewal time! I’ll definitely keep in touch for the future...If anyone is looking for a ccl/Foid etc... this is the class to take and the price is a plus.. 👍

Instructor is a former officer as most cc classes. Down to earth and realistic scenarios to get the class thinking. He offers other classes for beginners with cleaning, gun handling and other classes for experts. The final qualifying part is held at second article gun range in Lombard. Which is a very nice place I still visit.

I just finished the 2 day, 16 hour course for Conceal & Carry License. Man, I cannot say enough good things about the instructor/owner Paul. He made the class! We went through everything, he sent us all the laws, statutes & information. We went through scenarios, we did range, so much. He was very knowledgeable on all the subjects we covered, and really nice, made sure we were clear on all the information. He also, if you choose, will do the applications for FOID/CCL if you want. You dont need a FOID card or CCL to take the class. Great class, great instructor. I highly recommend Illinois Protect & Conceal.

Paul is an excellent instructor. He thoroughly goes through the process of educating you with a bit of humor so that the content is easily digestible. Guns are very serious but it doesnt hurt to use humor to get the point across. Plus it makes the 16 hours fly faster than you expect. I would recommend him to anyone wanting to get their conceal carry license. Oh, and its a block from the Harlem Ave blue line station and the I90/94. You cant go wrong with that.

This class was very educational on our state gun laws. Most important Very detailed in how to protect ourselves-with firearms and in general. Had a great time. Very affordable. Had a blast at the range for our final test! Definetly recommend this class if your are serious in learning to keep your self and family safe. Because of the state of the world we live in Ive chosen to have a gun with me at all times . To do this legally , in Illinois , one must have a concealed carry license . I found Illinois Protect and Conceal on line and called for information . Paul returned my call and answered all of my questions . My wife and I decided to take the classes . They have classes at different times to meet a variety of different work schedules . We were able to complete our training in a timely fashion . The instruction was informative and interesting . From safe handling , laws (very important),cleaning , to open discussion on real life situations , I felt we were made to understand the responsibility of legal gun carry . At the end of the class there was live shooting at Article II gun range in Lombard. As my wife and I did not possess a fire arm Paul provided us with his equipment ,which we practiced and tested with . We felt that Paul was a professional and knowledgeable instructor . I highly recommend Illinois Protect and Conceal and would look no further to obtain a carry permit. It took about four months for the state police to issue our licenses . Im proud to say that the federal government and the state of Illinois, after doing a comprehensive back ground check , have found my wife and I to be responsible enough to be legally armed .

Paul and his staff are very knowledgeable and professional. The hours are very flexible so even persons like myself that work weekends can complete the course during the week (many places dont offer that). Commute is great as the site is very close to highway (I-90 and Harlem) for those coming from the suburbs. Paul as an instructor is great. He will teach you what you need to know about CCW laws in Illinois and will teach even the very beginners how to operate and clean the handguns. Learning in an environment that Paul has designed is very positive for the learners as they will learn a lot from the class and he will make sure you get your questions answered. He will train you so you pass the qualification. I highly recommend this place for a great location, great learning experience and affordability.

I researched many places to take this particular class. I needed a flexible schedule and Illinois protect and conceal had all my requirements. Paul is a great instructor and the hands on portion of the class is beneficial to anyone new to firearms. Excellent school. The instructor Paul is friendly, thorough, and keeps the mandatory time moving. I watched him guide first time shooters through the basics of safety and law and I, personally a long time shooter and previous permit holder in another state learned all necessary laws but even better he taught me a new level of accuracy and control with my weapon. The flexibility and time of classes is what made me choose this school. I cannot recommend getting you training here any higher. Top notch.

Paul is an awesome instructor. He knows the material very well. He gives you both hands on teaching experience as well as book material so you dont get bored or annoyed from just sitting dowm for 16 hrs. The shooting range experience is easy going as well. As an African American female, I was anticipating funny looks and possible negative comments. Instead, IT WAS AWESOME!!! I just finished my class room portion of the carry and conceal (Illinois). Paul the instructor was great! Hands on training/illustrations, very knowledgeable regarding all aspects of the carry and conceal. Excited about the shooting range portion! Get in there and do it, 100% worth it.

I liked how easy it was to sign up for the course as they take walk ins. You dont have to pay in advance and risk losing money if you have to cancel your class. Plus there is so much flexibility with the schedule.Paul and his assistant instructor are easy to work with and very knowledgeable. He even lets you use his firearms for the qualifying shooting exercise if you dont own one ( i didnt). You can use his gun FREE OF CHARGE. BEWARE - you may show up and not be able to take class. I cleared time from my weekend, spent 1.5hrs coming up on transit from the south side, arrived at 9:45am early, waited in line, and five of us were sent away because he “didn’t have enough books”. Only 25 people per weekend can come apparently, but you can note on this event page that 40 clicked “going” and more clicked “interested”, and for some reason that didn’t prompt him to comment. One lady was sent away even though she was there before some others who got to take class, but i guess she didn’t walk through the door before them. It’s 2018, to not offer online signup or pre-pay or something, but still turn people away at the door, who already have to plan for a whole weekend, is totally unprofessional and indicates no regard for other people’s lives and responsibilities. When i finally get time again to take a course, I will pay extra to go somewhere else, less amateur and more organized, that doesn’t force people to compete for space the day of class. If you’re in a hurry to be able to protect yourself, don’t risk having to keep waiting by planning to come here and getting sent away.

I was extremely satisfied with the training I recieved. The instructor, Paul, was both very knowledgeable and very personable.

After attending the Concealed Carry course at IPAC with Paul (the instructor) I feel very comfortable going back out into the world as a concealed carry licensee. Paul provides an amazing course, the vast knowledge that he possesses is second to none. Not only does Paul take the time to thoroughly explain the laws, he goes the extra mile to make sure that all of his course attendees truly understand the responsibilities associated with possessing and carrying a firearm. He incorporates real world situations into his teachings which along with his great examples better help the students to understand and be able to utilize the skills and information that is provided by IPAC. The classroom environment is very comfortable, the time is taken to make sure that everyone leaves with no unanswered questions and if additional questions do come up after-the-fact, Paul is ready and willing to take the time to answer whatever is needed in order to insure that a person truly comprehends the laws, facts and answers associated with concealed carry and firearm safety. Coming out of the program I am now a lawfully licensed & knowledgeable concealed carrier. Awesome experience with like minded people,what I didnt know and the public definitely doest know is,you have to shoot accurately at test time,20 shots on target at different distances or you dont get your concealed carry permit.Paul,Franko and Raffy are pleasure to learn from,friendly,positive atmosphere.What surprised me is,a lot of women in my class,glad I took the class,passed on my 1st try and I still dont own a gun,you can use their gun,just a great learning experience.

Paul is very friendly, informative and very serious about what he does.In regards to scheduling your classes, you will have two options:1. You can attend available classes during the weekdays.or2. You can attend available classes during the weekends.You can schedule to attend classes at your own pace (within 30 days) until youve reached the amount of hours required for your specific training status.I highly recommend Illinois Protect and Conceal for anyone in the Chicagoland area who is interested in obtaining their Illinois Concealed Carry Permit!PLEASE NOTE: The prices for the CCW class DOES NOT include the $150 Illinois State Police application fee. After youve completed the class and have received your certificate, then your next step will be to apply with the state to receive your actual license to carry.I completed my CCW course with Illinois Protect and Conceal in August 2016 and I just received my CCW license from The State Of Illinois on November 25th 2016, so be patient as the state is in no hurry, but you will receive a response in due time.
