They make you feel bad about going to the hair salon and as a stylist that is a no no A customer of any kind should feel beautiful on the inside and outside from sitting down signing in and going out the door I will not go here for school I don’t recommend anybody go on here for school or service and I was offered to be a student and I’ve been here several times and got my hair done it was an absolute disaster it’s shameful there is a disgrace to the black community trying to bring the black community up their stylist make them look bad I don’t care how good you do hair or how bad you do hair it is the Attitude I don’t want no bad attitude people in my energy spirit or definitely not on my head and that’s for Any and all that it applies to

This place is awesome! I had a horrible experience at another salon, and I came here for help. The director paired me with a student who was able to make my hair look amazing. Please dont hesitate to try this place out.

The worse client service I have experienced in my 43 years. They literally stole my money $65 for braids that were not completed. The student braiding my hair walked out and did not complete the service. I was not getting the style I asked for and when I asked for it to be corrected, the student walked out. The police were also called when I requested a refund. This business puts a stain on black own businesses and should be shame, but they probably are not. When I ask to speak to the arrogant owner she acted as if I deserved to be ignored. My upbringing makes me want to forgive and forget, but.... (To Be continue)

BE PREPARED TO STAY ALL DAY.! Service is NOT based on1st come, 1st served. Customers are given preference if they paidlast week or the week before or who’s a regular customer. You are required to pay up front. W/no refund . So if you’re waiting for 3 hrs.and decide that you don’t want to wait 3 additional hrs.You forgo your money.I arrived at 10:00am. For a simple wash, press & curl. I didn’t leave until 3:00pmNeedless to say I will not be returning.After all that. My hair is just OK.

This place is horrible when it comes to customer service, the instructors is ghetto as hell, I understand this is a school but what the heck are you teaching these ladies, to mess up on people heads and get paid for it. This place needs to be re-evaluated and their policy needs to be updated and not outdated as soon as possible, one day they say this and the next day they say that make up your mind and have things documented in black and white and maybe you will get better views because I had a horrible experience coming here but not again....

Ive gone here for years ,and I have giving new students a chance to do my hair.Some were really good,and others still learning. Keyword is (SCHOOL)LOL. Also they had some top notch A-1 students that seem very professional. Keep up the good work guys....

I came in having attended palace beauty college n the director helped me out even though i did not attend this school. N for all yall complaining, they are students they are not licensed professionals yet so... You want it done right go to someone that is not a student.

The school opens at 9. I arrived at 8:30a and didnt get seated until noon. The stylist started, then stopped to work on another. When I asked why she became very indignant. The only instructor was very nice, explained what was happening. But I wont be returning.

Horrible Customer service. I called 2 hours ahead of time and was told that someone would be able to assist however when I arrived I was told I was given misinformation over the phone and wasn’t able to be seen. Save your money. The head instructor also mentioned the students are new and haven’t she doesn’t know what they can or can’t do.

Today I had my hair done by a beautiful beautiful stylist named Cookee. She had great energy and she did an awesome job on my brittle damaged hair. I look forward to her doing my hair again.

I will reccomend you guys to not waste your money here there’s more affordable ocupacional centers for cosmetology school like Maxine waters and Abraham Friedman for 3,500 cost thank you

Current Student - It is important to remember that we are students! The school is one of the few Black Owned Schools still around. Every student moves at different pace and is developing certain skills. Be patient, give advice and encourage 😁 Every client is greatly appreciated for entrusting something as valuable as your hair with us. Like they same a womans hair is her crowning glory👑 So every style may not be perfect but you just helped a young adult move one step closer to perfection. We all have an speciality but we also want to do things they we need to practice. It hurts my heart to give them a bad review however I cannot keep quiet about this. Let me start by saying I had been going here off and on over the past 12 years. And while I have in general found them to be a little unprofessional. The quality of the work I had done here always made up for it and it is a teaching school. Two weeks ago I went for a retouch. I arrived early, waited in line and then was informed someone had ripped the wiring out. We were told we could sign in but it was possible we would not be served today. After an hour the founder came. We were invited into group prayer the electricity was restored . After a few moments a young man Romeo called for me. He asked me why I was getting a perm, that should have been my cue to get out while I had a full head of hair. He was distracted , dancing and socializing but still I didnt think anything of it. Thats the norm at this place. Finally a feel a little burn happening on my scalp, we go to the bowl. The instructor joins him and has to tell him he must rinse the perm out around my edges and the nape of my neck. She takes over for him and really scrubbed while giving me a massage. I was in heaven. After she informs me my hair had broken off. She shows me a chunk of hair. She asked if Im on medicine and I tell her I am not and now we move to conditioning. Romeo blows dries my hair and then has me sit under the dryer. He flat irons my hair and trims the ends. It looks great. Now the main instructors comes over and inquires why my hair was shedding . Same question are you on medicines? No I reply . I tip and go. My hair has been coming out in chunks every since. At this point I will be shaving my head and starting all over. And I think this will be my last time going to this place. Stuff happens. But the fact that they left me leave knowing I was practically bald in the back when I walked in with shoulder length hair without even an apology not an offer of a refund or future services is beyond distrubing. That is no way to treat a customer.

Dont get a perm here !!!!!!! Im 16 years old and I know nothing about getting my hair done . I returned here cause I loved the girl who got my hair done the first time her name is Speedy . I went back today to get my hair done and I got this really pretty girl who looked like she was very educated but dont let the looks fool you .So then I got my perm . And as she was washing my hair her friend/fellow student came up to the wash bowl and she commented she only got a retouch and they both started laughing at me (I understand I have bad dandruff and not the best hair but I thought that hairdressers were supposed to help you )We finally finished the washing and go to her booth and she looks at my hair I asked her whats wrong she tells me your hair should be straighter than this it looks like you need to get your whole head permed she seemed not to believe me t when I told her I previously got my hair permed she starts to blow dry she says I see where you got your perm like B!!!h of course it is I told you when I got here after she finished blow drying it looked exactly the same as when I walked in just to find out she gave a MILD perm yes people Apparently there is a difference BUT OF COARSE THEY DIDNT ASK WHICH ONE I WANTED OR inform me that there is even a difference ( again Im 16 and uneducated about hair ) long story short I spent 45 dollars to get a perm that did absolutely nothing to my hair by a rude uneducated stylist just to be told no refunds and ON TOP OF THAT ( my hair and scalp is burned isnt that nice and she repermed a section that was supposed to be permed and now Im screwed over money wise and head wise ) Thank you very much guys ! sorry for the lack of grammar Im just really f****** pissed .ALEXY SMITH- 16 year old west la COLLEGE student

I was told to arrive before noon today to receive highlights. When I arrived they told me they couldnt serve me. One lady was argumentative and told me Policy said when other people arrive there is a cut off on chemicals. I told her they were UNPROFESSIONAL!!!! There were only about seven stylists for a room full of people! Read reviews they make a difference!

The worst school you could ever go to, they swear they care about your education but they really only care about your financial aid! Theyre scammers and once you figure out their schemes, they kick you out and try to send you elsewhere! DONT make this your first or last choice go elsewhere it may seem like a good fit but its not!
