This is a real gem of a BJJ gym. This gym has the best vibe of all the gyms I have tried over the last few years. The vibe is very friendly but competitive, and no overblown egos or cult like vibe. Its friendly, structured, competitive mixed with great training partners. I think every gym culture is really a reflection of the instructor and it is a real pleasure to come and train here. Professor Won is a very sharp instructor with a great eye for technical details that matter. He is not a big guy but when you roll with him hell make you a believer in the power of BJJ. I highly recommend!

First week of taking classes for my 6 year old and he loves it. The instructor is awesome and I highly recommend this place. Great atmosphere and also a great way to tire out your wild kids.

The updated schedule has an open mat night on Fridays, replacing an adult class.The school and people are welcoming and gracious. Its only my second time here, but theyve made me feel welcome and encouraged. All new experiences, but I echo all the previous raters from other sites: Just try it.Oh, and the first lesson is free!Update May 2018: the Friday open mats are now regular classes emphasizing the lessons taught, earlier in the week.Update August 2018: no gi classes are on Thursday mornings and evenings.Update for January 2019: Due to increased popularity, no gi classes will expand to Tuesdays and Thursdays. Gi classes will continue on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.Update for September 2019: The school has moved to a larger unit on the first floor of the same mall in unit 102.

Professor Won is such a great person. He’s an amazing teacher who cares a lot. Every time I come here I learn so much and feel so inspired. Definitely check this place out if you’re around the Koreatown or Westlake area!
