I graduated in 2007. Very good school back then. I’m surprise at all the negative comments. I’m currently working for NCR as a ATM technician. Has its good and bad perks. Thanks to TCI I’m working and grateful for that

I recently took night clashes here and had the worst experience a school can offer. Teachers showed lack of interest to teach. Especially teachers who teach day time as well. Financial aid seem like theyre only interested in getting cash and wont attempt t help you if possible..half the times teachers were absent . worst of all most election via didnt qualify into my bachelors... This is a private school tricking minorities into attending there private schools instead of a public on which I should mention is half the cost...

I took health information technology here for one semester in 2010 after naively thinking Id have a better chance at being hired in medical billing if I had a degree (note: I had already graduated from a continuing ed billing program and passed the certification exam). Big mistake! This glorified diploma mill did nothing but waste 3 months of my time and $6000. I was able to use my transfer credits for a few classes, but the remaining classes were so pointless and redundant - its pretty obvious that theyre just trying to stretch out material that COULD be taught in one semester into three semesters so theyll make more money! Also, despite fliers claiming that you could sell back textbooks for money, you apparently only get a voucher sent to you in the mail later? (I didnt try it; this is what other people in my classes were saying)I dont want to blame the teachers because they are qualified and know their subject; I feel sorry for them for having to teach there! Its just that the material the school gives them is terrible. Everything was slow and dumbed-down, and a complete waste of time. The administration is terrible and unorganized. They charged me $50 in late fees when I had not made any late payments. Hilariously, it also took them six months to figure out that I had not registered for another semester.I cant say anything about the quality of other majors such as automotive, electrical engineering, etc. but no matter what subject youre interested in, I cannot discourage this place enough. These people are only looking to rip you off. GO TO A REAL SCHOOL.

I graduated RCA/TCI over 40 years ago and it prepared me for a successful career in telecommunications. At graduation I was offered at least 3 positions, interviews arranged by TCI, with top companies including IBM, ITT and Con Edison. With the tools and preparation from TCI, I was able to work hard, apply myself and manage my career. It has proven to be the best investment of my life.

Its my 2nd semester in TCI College and its not a bad school at all. What I wish was a little better was the student lounge and the activities. But the plus side that this school does is that every wed. for two hours they provide the students with food for FREE. =)Yeah there are loans but for good education has to be a price.

The worst help on education, they only Care about Money. Not making almost everyone happy if you leave school after just a few weeks of classes and you agree on financial aid, good luck your life just got damaged. Better get luck to have cash for this school.

This is the most unorganized school I ever been to. The workers in the financial aid office need to be retrained or need a new younger staff that is up to date with technology. Been waiting for 3 hrs just to be seen by a counselor. Ive been to community colleges and the longest I ever waited was 30 minutes. Dont invest your time or money into this school not worth it.

I am a NET student, and work in the FWS program in the library. The school does have issues, that are more related to changing of staff and environment .But so far i have enjoyed my time, and the professors here.I am going to attend PARSONS for Technology and Design after i graduate , and so far have had had nothing but the out most support from all i work with. I am not going to lie, i am going to struggle to pay for the BFA i want to get there, but i dont regret my time here at TCI. I graduate soon, and only hope to continue my education. No matter what school you go to, you will find something to be negative about.

I am a past student of RCA institutes, which later became Technical Career Institute. I completed their electronics engineering technology course. After being in the field for a few years I took their computer and microprocessor course. Their courses kept me employed and well paid for over 50 years at employers such as the US Air Force, International Telephone and Telegraph, and Eastman Kodak Company. Each of these employers saw the value of my training at RCA institutes and TCI and over the years invested additional tens of thousands of dollars for additional training to adapt my skills to their needs. The RCA Institutes and TCI training was worth every penny spent. I also have to point out that long hours and hard work helped me reach the top of my chosen profession. All a school can do is prepare you by giving you the tools to learn, but hard work and self discipline on your part can make you successful.

I actually graduated from this school. My last semester, I had to take out over 5k worth of loans for two classes yet when the time came for returns from those loans, I got a measly 46.00. Robbery!!! Out of 5k I got 46.00. That was never resolved. Now a year or two later, I requested my degree and get the runaround. Dont sleep on these for profit schools. Like the Trump school, they should be taken to court and sued for fraudulently stealing loan money from students. No 2 classes cost 2500 each. Not even in Harvard and this school is no Harvard. I was supposedly sent that degree 2 months ago. I havent received that either. You can find a better school anywhere else in Manhattan. Dont settle for thieves.

Very expensive tuition is 3x the tuition a CUNY school offers. The teachers go not care about anything. The only good teachers are Ms. Lynch and Mr. Gomes. They are the only ones that care to make things fun and interesting, they go above and beyond. The offices, registrar, and financial aid all talk to you like youre an idiot. They dont give you a good schedule in your first semester, so youre there an extra 2 semesters because most classes have prerequisites. I figured this out after many people in my classes have complained about being there extra time. Im over $20,000 in debt from this school and this is my last semester. I could have gone to CUNY City Tech and would have been debt free, but I was naive and thought this would be quick and easy. Do not go to this school!

I am currently a student at tci and I am yet to be helped by a representative or any one for that matter. When you call you either get a person and they redirect you to an answering machine or no one at all. They need to rework their entire staff and make things alot more easily accessible to students so it can make their transition into the school a lot easier.

I attended TCI for one semester, until I decided to attend a REAL COLLEGE years later. My experience in TCI was horrible. I was majoring in Electronics Engineering which I am now almost to finish. Everything I learned in a full semester in TCI, I leraned it in a few week in my current college. That school is pathetic, If you have enough money to attend TCI, you are better off going for a community college, which will give you a real education that is controlled by the state for a much lower cost.

Horrible school, Ms. Lloyd in administration is the meanest and extremely unpleasant. Im $36,000 in debt and still havent graduated im expecting to reach $40,000 in debt before I graduate. Yes you will get the run around When you need any help from the school. Thats the Pros:The Cons: Ghetto, I cant stress enough how ghetto it is. The school security seems as if their training was at the correction facility they treat students as if we are convicts. Only half of teacher staff actually cares.

Worst school ever! I think this school is for people that are old and messed up in life that gets a second chance. If you are looking for a real college, this isnt it. The lunchroom is very very small. For a small school, their loans are crazy high and I believe its only 2 elevators for the whole entire building no legit campus activities, No clubs to join and career services get their jobs from Craigslist & Indeed !! They only care for money because every student they bring in is part of their commission as a private institute. Just go to a CUNY college which I did after one semester and saved thousands of dollars and I have legit internship opportunities along with a degree from a school that is actually real.

The reason why I rate TCI 5 stars is because I sincerely learned a lot during my time there. I was a DMA (digital media arts) major, and the courses and professors were the best. I am pursuing my BA at another college and I must say that we covered things here that I already learned at TCI. The only issues I had there were due to administrative mistakes. But I will not let that blind me from the fact that I left there with new and valuable skills.
