I have trained here for almost a year now, having trained at other schools previously, and the quality of instruction here is phenomenal. Coaches take time to personally attend to your training, working with your specific goals, directly coaching you as you drill with other students, etc. I have improved like crazy since being here, and Ive had a blast while Im at it.

I switched to this gym after training at a nearby gym and the difference is night and day! The instructors have a variety of styles and are all very knowledgeable and passionate about the sport. The students are all very respectful and friendly which creates a great atmosphere. I highly recommend training here for both new and experienced students, there is plenty to gain for all levels.

I’ve been training at this school for awhile now as well as a couple other BJJ schools in Reno. TBH I prefer this school the most because I get better instruction compared to the others. The two coaches here are gurus in all things Brazilian Jujitsu at a very high level. Both competition wise as well as self defense. I’m starting to feel like I can hold my own against an attacker and I have a great game plan from all the training. The class sizes at this school are generally smaller than most schools, and I appreciate the extra attention I get. I get all the help I want each class and end up learning more. The students there are chill and friendly. You can tell they want to help each other get better.There is about twice the mat space than the other schools I’ve visited/trained at. The place is huge with room to spread out while rolling. I also like that they have multiple private changing rooms and multiple bathrooms.This school has better value than the other schools and is less money per month to train than anywhere I’ve ever trained at.I’ve always liked the Double Diamond area. I think the community out there feels clean and safe.

I had been away from jiu-jitsu for quite some time, and figured it was time for me to get back on the wagon. I recently found Black Diamond Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. When I got there for the first time, I immediately felt welcomed and part of the team. The men and women Ive met training at Black Diamond are all so nice, chill and down to earth. You can really tell people enjoy being in this community. Coaches Ryan and Professor John are very knowledgeable teaching the old and new schools ways of BJJ. They are also patient in teaching, especially as my out-of-shape behind struggled with conditioning, and shaking off my mat-rust getting back. I still have a long ways to go, but Ive regained my passion for jits since training here.

I have been training with my brother Ryan Jennerjohn since I was about 10-11 years old, I am 21 now. As my brother is the instructor and mentor here alongside John Magoo, it’s one of the best places to train. This is the most welcoming, open and helpful jiu jitsu place in Reno hands down. Everyone is welcome and everyone here wants to help each other grow, not only with their jiu jitsu, but to help them as a person and their futures, drop on in!!!
