Would highly recommend Aveda Institute in Rochester. Was able to get a walk in partial highlight and cut appointment with Evie. She did an amazing job with the color and gave great recommendations based off of hair concerns. Evie also styled my hair with braids at the end. Love love love how Evie did my hair! She did a full foil highlight and haircut on me, and it turned out better than I could have imagined. She talked me through the different techniques she was using and made sure I was happy with the outcome. Overall great experience!

She offered a nice hand massage while waiting for the color to process. It was a nice touch. I’m very happy with my color. My hair is so soft and shines! It looks really healthy again. Great place to get hair done. Its all done by students with a teacher watching, but everyone is so friendly and helpful. The cost of getting things done is definitely reasonable. Theyre happy to help come up with a great image or work with an existing idea.

There are a lot of miracle workers in this world. When it comes to hair, Jennifer Rodgers is one of them. I’ve never sat down in the chair of a cosmetologist and said “do whatever” and I can know that whatever Jen does, I’ll love it. Jen is my favorite and I love when she does my hair.

I had a wonderful experience, beginning to end! Everyone is helpful and friendly. Natalie made me an appointment for the day I called. I absolutely loved my haircut from Mabel! She cut my hair exactly the way I like it, and it was rather complicated since she was repairing a previous poor haircut. Ive spent 3 times as much as I spent today and wasnt nearly as happy. The environment is fun, too. Having the instructor there to oversee and being able to watch her mentor the students was awesome. Thank you for a pleasureable experience, ladies!! I would highly recommend giving Aveda Institute a try!

Rachel the director is amazing. She genuinely cares about the students and their success. The instructors are great with the students. They coach appropriately and make sure the clients are satisfied. A great place to go for a less price and to help others learn and grow in their profession.

My first time at the Aveda Institute in Rochester MN back in October, my first impressions of the school was wow this is place is amazing the students and staff were very nice and welcoming, my stylist was Nikki i showed her a picture of what I was going for and she exceeded my expectations she is an amazing stylist and cant wait to go back , I walked out of there feeling better then before. I highly recommend checking this place out , The students and staff will assist your needs.

Fun experience, with friendly staff and nerve wracked students sweatin the test they were taking. Very entertaining, indeed. And best of all you get a free haircut/manicure/makeover/perm/etc. depending on what your student is being tested on.

Today I experienced an amazing facial with Nikki. From start to finish everything about this experience was top notch. I would highly recommend stopping in and booking an appointment with her. I can’t wait to see what she’ll do next!!

I’m in love with this place! I’ve visited multiple times, and have had a stellar experience every time. I’ve had my hair cut and colored, eyebrows waxed, and makeup consultation as well as getting my hair and makeup done for my professional headshot for work. My mom has had her nails done & reports the same quality of her experience.The physical surroundings are beautiful, clean, and well-maintained. It doesn’t look at all like a traditional, warehouse-style beauty school. It has more of the “vibe” of its neighbor in the mall, Serenity Couture. Front desk staff are amazing— I’ve interacted primarily with Natalie. She is patient, pleasant, and a whiz with scheduling. Prices for services are rock-bottom— haircuts start at $14.Students are extremely dedicated, as are the instructors. There is a low student-to-instructor ratio, and students are very closely supervised. The instructors are amazingly talented, both as stylists and as teachers.Good to know: this is a school, and students are there to learn. Appointments are typically available on one week day, and on Saturday. The salon starts around 9 am and runs to 8 pm, so there is flexibility in appointment times.Plan to spend 3-4 hours for cut and color, 2-3 hours for a cut. Stay flexible— especially if you are booking multiple services. A couple times, the color took up most of the available time, so I’ve made a separate appointment for the cut (it’s well worth the effort).There’s no room for kids or adult visitors. You may not have the same student each time you come in— you’re assigned to a student based on their learning needs at the time. Students are allowed to accept tips, but tipping is cash only. Services and products can be cash or card.Both my mom (who lives in California) and I love to visit the Institute. The energy of the students, instructors, and staff, the physical surroundings, and the quality of service (at deeply-discounted rates) make for a great time. The Institute has been a great addition to the Apache Mall.

I scheduled a haircut online and when I got there they said I wasn’t on the schedule. Eventually, they discovered that the online scheduling system linked on their website was not discontinued although they were no longer using it.The receptionist went to talk to another person and I heard her say that it was no big deal because they could get me scheduled for the next day. It might not be a big deal to them, but I went through what I thought were the proper channels to make an appointment and carve out time in my schedule. All in all, I feel as though they should have offered me a future discounted or free service for the mistake but all I left with was a half hearted apology.

Wonderful service!!! I will definitely be coming back!!
