One of the 1st & is the very best Muay Thai academy in NYC!!! Top tier coaching, instructing, & strength & conditioning hands down. They also have elite Kali & Judo programs as well. Ive been a member since 2008 and I loved every single day Ive went & I still go at least 4 times a week. I have 4 sons, my 1st 3 also trained here and my youngest is about to start training here as well. I highly recommend everyone interested to come and try it out. Its definitely not your regular gym, however you will definitely feel right at home. The whole staff & facility is AMAZING!!!

I have been in several Muay Thai schools in Manhattan. This school is by far the most complete and the most professional. The coaches have excellent pedagogy, the class schedule is the most precise and complete in Manhattan, and the students are mostly friendly and welcoming.

Amazing. Simply put this place is amazing. The people are extremely friendly and welcoming, the instructors are great, the space is incredible. I couldnt realistically ask for much more. As someone whos trained in martial arts for a long time and has visited schools all over the place, five points is a gem. If you want community, wellness, support, and expert training, come here.

Enjoyed going to this place for a barbell session via classpass. Matt was super welcoming and helpful and if I lived in the area I’d probably seriously consider joining long term. They are also a martial arts focused facility so if you’re keen on trying that it’s worth it too.

Words dont do justice how highly I recommend Five Points to anyone who is remotely interested in martial arts or living a more active lifestyle. Everybody can find something here no matter what their fitness goals are and what level they are at. Becoming part of this community has been a profoundly positive decision in my life. I was visiting New York from California this past weekend just for leisure but wanted to fir in some train. In researching places in New York, I came across Five Points and also heard of them from a couple people. I contacted them through email and they were super quick and very kind! I appreciated their hospitality very much! Gianna had contacted me through email to provide a schedule and was very welcoming—even provided some awesome places to eat!On to the training—really enjoyed their Muay Thai classes led by Coach Steve and Greg. Both coaches are very experienced and focus on technique, which is what I really look for! I appreciated the feedback they gave me. I wish I could have taken more classes while visiting, but I will definitely be back when I am in the area again. Thank you Five Points. I hope to see you again soon!

There are a ton of fun classes depending on what your goals are. I personally love the kettlebell training, taking care of business and primal barbell classes. Swing by today!

Five Points Academy is located in lower Manhattan and close to several subway stops making it easy to get to - The B, D, J, 4 and 6 are a short walk away. When I went I was greeted by the very nice Nadia who was working the front desk. She was super helpful as was instructor Gianna Smith. Smith helps manage the two story gym and is very experienced. Shes trained out of the very technical Sitjaopho gym in Hua Hin Thailand and has fought for the USMF (United States Muay Thai Federation) on several occasions. She picked up a gold medal in the 2017 Pan American games and has a solid amount of experience in the states and Thailand. The facility opens up with a small pro shop and then a kettlebell area. Behind it is the locker rooms which have showers!!! Downstairs is another strength and conditioning area along with several treadmills. The area has a full bag area, ring, and area for jiu jitsu. There are plenty of locker rooms to store your stuff.I was able to take a class with Steve Milles, one of the head instructors at the gym. An experienced fighter and coach he ran the class through some solid pad work. Afterwards he led a fight team training that went super smooth, no egos, and no bumps or bruises.Price wise I think it is a reasonable $250 a month with recurring billing. If you go three to four times a week the membership more than pays for itself.Good instruction. Nice clean facilities. Solid people. Five Points is a great Muay Thai gym in NYC.

After moving back into the city in March 2017, I was desperate to find a new training center and lucky for me, a friend told me to check out Five Points Academy. I fell in love with the place after a week as the strength and conditioning classes are outstanding and the instructors are very knowledgable, supportive and inspiring. Everyone that works and works out there are very friendly and the gym definitely has a friends and family vibe to it. I would recommend it to anyone and I am forever indebted to my friend who turned me on to Five Points!

So many places you go are a great workout, but arent teaching you real skills.. not here. I got a great workout while learning a lot with a ton of support. I also worked with a experienced guy from class who was incredibly helpful.

I am part of the strength program and love it! The teachers are awesome and the workouts are top notch. They are the only StrongFirst certified kettlebell training facility in NYC and all of their teachers have the certification. This means that all of the teachers are really detail oriented and do a great job teaching students the basics of deadlifts, swings, squats, snatches, get ups, etc. Emily, Matt, Steve, Hannah and Lindsay are all fantastic teachers in their different ways. You can tell they really care about their students and teaching proper technique. Anyway, this gym is really well known for its top notch Muay Thai training but if youre interested in strength training then I would recommend.

The martial arts tutors always use very foul language even in front of kids. My nephew goes there for practice and the first time I heard the tutors using foul language I thought my ears were playing tricks on me. They use the F word too often. Some of the kids are just 7 years old.

Five Points Academy, were have you been half my life? I was a competitive dragonboat athlete whom obtained a silver medal in a Club Crew World Championship in Macau (2010) but fell into a unhealthy and unfit lifestyle due to life responsibilities. I attempted to go back to the gym for many years but the regular gyms (Blink, NYSC, Crunch) were not motivating, most of the time very dirty, and had a very isolated and negative environment. However, one day Gianna (a manager of Five Points Academy) appeared and persuaded me to just check out the gym. After one class (Brazilian Jiu Jitsu) I fell in love with the place. I grew up studying many martial arts but I have not received the amount of attention and critical critiques on techniques, body mechanics, and training safely. Their philosophy on training hard & smart, standing strong and respect illuminates when you first enter the gym, seeing the environment and the motivated vibes of every member. The staff are extremely friendly, helpful and are very knowledgeable. Also, It is VERY CLEAN! The staff is consistently cleaning. I hope this review can help and reach those are trying to get back into shape and even those who want to take a step in forward a fit and healthy lifestyle.

I started training with Steve in 2012, and 6 years later I was hoping to bring a Five Points Academy flag to the top of the world, Mount Everest. When I first came to Steve, I was an office worker mostly but also an infrequent recreational climber with aspirations of climbing more challenging mountains. A special operations friend of mine who was getting his doctorate in sports physical therapy recommended only one trainer: Steve Milles.I had barely lifted before and had never trained with kettlebells. I appreciate that Steve is adamant about perfect form. I have never been injured or sidelined by pain at any point in the 6 years we’ve worked together. Instead, Steve has been a crucial part of my training for many of my mountaineering expeditions – in fact, on May 16, 2018, I became the 68th American woman to summit Mount Everest and survive. Now, Steve is working with me towards my own Strong First Level 1 certification. He is awesome – personally and professionally.

Five Points is a great gym to learn proper techniques and get your butt kicked, be it in muay thai or kettlebells. I first tried a couple of muay thai classes and got hooked. But what really got me convinced was how tidy and organized the gym was and how respectful the members were to each other; this is rare in any gym! Ive tried muay thai, kettlebell, primal barbell, and TRX classes. Despite being a division 1 athlete until I turned 30, I can honestly say I still learned something in every class with a variety of great instructors.

Great, dedicated trainers. Very friendly from the moment you join (irrespective of your experience... which is a plus).Facilities well maintained. Clean showers. Clean lockers. Clean mats and bags.Class schedule really good - especially if you like to train mornings and weekends. Good variety of muay thai classes and other exercises to compliment your strength training (kettle bells, TRX etc).Bottom line - the guys that run this place are good fun and dedicated to the sport. Also the other people training there are all very friendly and happy to help newcomers learn the sport (no huge egos walking around).

A place for those who are devoted to better themselves physically. Upon entrance, you will be granted access to a collection of machines and free weights. The Muay Thai instruction is world class and it goes with the friendliness of both the instructors and students alike. Although interested, I have not been to the Judo, BJJ, Kali classes as I am obsessed with Muay Thai. The place is also well decorated with the belts of instructors and students, which speak highly of its training, and is also very clean.

Very nice place to train. i highly recommend the BJJ classes here, and it it also a good place for muay thai. they have free weights, kettlebells, trx, and more for conditioning. the gym is extremely clean, the floors are wiped after every class, and the bathrooms are sparkling. only gripe is the cost of training, but well it is manhattan .....

Great instruction for all and any skill level in Muay thai, judo, kali, and personal training . The BJJ program is still expanding, but the program has been winning and racking up several accolades in Grapplers Quest and various BJJ tournaments. The facility has a large focus on strength and conditioning with two floors worth of equipment. This includes bumper plates and power rack for Olympic lifts along with some of the best kettlebell instruction in the city.Seminars are held throughout the year in strength and conditioning. Visiting coaches from Thailand provide another level of instruction and a rare opportunity to train with the best in Muay Thai. I frequently spar with friends at other BJJ/Muay thai/MMA gyms in NYC and the East coast when I travel, but this is hands down my permanent home.
