My son loves it here. Happy Son. Happy parents.γ€πŸ˜…Excuse my poor English. But you will understand what I mean.】My son πŸ‘ΆπŸ» was 3 yrs old when he first joins this big Next Evolution family. He was shy and scared in the beginning. but the teachers here were very patient and friendly with him. Soon after few classes. I started seeing smiles on his little face and he started picking up some karate skills. He was always looking forward to join his class every week and meet his teachers and karate friends. He went from white belt to orange&green belt. Yes. That means we never change our karate school. We stayed here for years. Now my son is about to be 8 yrs old by end this September. he is about to start his first jiujitsu class soon. How time flies😭. When my daughter is 3πŸ₯Ί. She will follow her big brother and 😎 come to this school to learn some karate as well.Sensie Delsin and Sensie Aden. I saw how you taught the kids through out the years. So many young kids are learning from you. You sure do on the way to become the best version of yourself. Keep it up.πŸ’ͺ🏼✊🏼Thank you for always being there for the kids when they feel down. They look to you. You are more than Sensies for those little ones. They love seeing you and talking to you. you are like their best friends and big brothers. they look confident And worry free when they around you. You guys are role models to them.Sensie Mike. Its not easy to get a new belt from you. Fancy moves cant fool you. Im not learning martial arts. but i know. Because I see you. You are truly that person of Do One Thing And Do It Well. So many qualified karate/jiujitsu/kick boxing young and adult students are graduated from the Next Evaluation. It requires them tons of hard work and time to get approved by you. But when a student of yours gets his/her next level of belt from you. Its serious. Its a real deal. No matter where they go in the future. They go with real talent. For some people who complain about this school. I dont understand. Im surprised to see some of those comments. You are not coming here for vacation and here is not a hotel. The leaking problem was fixed in no time. The sweaty mat? Its not a bed. Of course its wet after use. and mats were properly cleaned between classes. I say what I saw through out the years of classes that my husband and son attended. Not based on just one or two classes of experiences.A strict teacher produces outstanding students. Sensie Mike is a second Dan who is qualified to give others black belt. And he gives to those who really deserve it. If you get your belts easily from your Sensie. u need to watch out. Or else the next thing you know is you get a takedown by a lower level belt.We are forever thankful and grateful for everything. Thank you for all your hard works and time Sensie Mike. Sensie Delsin and Sensie Aden.Ive uploaded some pictures (with Photoshop on those kids faces.). I dont want to cause any trouble to the school. Please let me know if I need to delete them.

When I came to East Harlem and got my first job with a political campaign in 2009/2010 next door. I briefly met the owner wonderful gentlemen. I want my daughter in there. She is 4, jujitsu is one of the most honorable martial arts disciplines.

This place is AWESOME! My kids loved it. All of the team members are patient and professional with the little ones. They have fun but learn discipline which is exactly what we wanted. I would recommend this place for all age ranges. Unfortunately, I had to move to different state, otherwise I would stay there forever!!!!

How anyone can give this school anything other than 5 stars is beyond me. I went from spaghetti-armed and clueless to shape-of-my-life and true MMArtist. Tough-as-hell at first, but I came to love the intense cardio, sparring, and sincere brotherhood. I went here for over three years and was traveling from Eastern Queens the whole time. Only stopped cause I moved to LI. I still practice the mind, body and self-defense disciplines Sensei Mike teaches here, and I share them with my family as well.

Had one of the worst experiences of all time at this place. The professor doesnt really care about most of the students, he only focuses on a hand full of students. If your a white belt I would not recommend you training there u will get hurt. There is no Curriculum, so one class your doing a set of 3 take downs and the next your doing hip escapes. Most of the classes are all over the place as well. Once that mess of a class is done u start rolling. The professor lets the higher belts roll with mostly white belts, and u guest it most of the white belts get hurt. If your new to this sport stay clear of this place. But thats not even the worst part, the price is crazy expensive. An open mat fee is 40 bucks, for 15 minutes because there real quick to close up on a Friday. Tuition fees are the highest in the city from what Ive seen and Ive been to Victor Shaolin, Marcello Garcia, Clockwork, RENZO GRACIE and none of them pass 185 a month for unlimited classes. This place starts you off at 250 and its limited amount of classes. Please people go any where else. If you have any question feel free to contact me

I have been taking my children (2 of them) to N.E.M.A now for over 3 years. I have begun to take classes myself and I have nothing bad to say. Professor Michael Mulleros approach to teaching/leading is based in a realistic approach to the world we live in and the possible trials and tribulations we will come in contact with. He does not only teach his students (as young as 4 all the way up to late 40s) how to defend themselves but also how to respect themselves and everyone else. He pulls from a life full of so much experience, good and bad, and he is not shy in sharing it to ensure that other may not have to go through hardships if possible. He is an accomplished career Martial Artist. He has been doing this before the age of 10. His learn the basics first approach is so refreshing and logical. I have been to competitions where N.E.M.A students won because they understood the basics and how to apply them. They may not have had the flashiest moves but they had the best moves that made them winners. The dojos environment is extremely welcoming but no nonsense when work and learning needs to be done. It is so rare for a day to go by where Professor Mullero does not make everyone in the dojo (students, parents, visitors) break out laughing out loud. What really gravitates me to N.E.M.A is the dedication to the children. I have gone on long enough (with still a lot to say) but suffice it to say N.E.M.A is one of the best investments I have made for my children and myself and is by far one of my favorite places in all of New York City!!!!

My entire family - kids and adults - has trained at Next Evolution for 5 years. Professor Mullero and his team are absolutely dedicated to developing their students martial arts skills along with their character. The school is a family and despite the huge demands on his time Professor Mullero has spent hours chatting with me about life, parenting, and how we can improve individually and as a community. I couldn’t recommend this school more highly.

Worst place ever.Constantly water leaking from ceiling, unsafe basement after school program, unhygienic; right after adult class, kids are on that sweated/ wet mat, kids are taught by students, owner= joker, he is always with his unwanted jokes, he is always asking parents to write good comments on social media.Think twice before you join.

This dojo is unfortunately overpriced. The staff are friendly and for the most part kind. If you are looking for a workout there are other places you can go to such as Tap out. And if you are looking for a means of defending yourself there are alternative options and cheaper affordable options.

Shihan Mike Mullero and the staff at Next Evolution are some of the kindest, most generous people you will ever meet. Many children in the neighborhood and from all over NYC benefit from the classes here, and adults of all ages and skill levels will enjoy training and reaching their goals at this dojo.

My daughter and I have been taking the BJJ classes for about a month now. We started with no prior knowledge of BJJ, and in this time I have seen and feel more confident in my daughters and my technique and knowledge of BJJ. Sensei Mike and his assistant Alexandra are great instructors and have a great balance of stern and fun with the kids. The atmosphere of the entire dojo is very welcoming. Addressing the negative reviews... I believe the price includes all three available Martial Arts programs for as many times as theyre offered, and for my family its a matter of proximity and convenience as well. In that regard it is a great deal, and my daughter learning how to protect herself is priceless. For competition reasons and even just curriculum/assessment I can completely understand why the Sensei wouldnt want students taking classes else

This dojo next evolution is exspensive. and all though the following is possible of friendships being formed and a family friendly environment it’s still a lot of money. There is many many many other alternatives to BJJ classes in the area that are cheap and affordable as well as teach the correct curriculum. Most dojos listen to feedback efficiently and with respect according to Next Evolution theyre the instructors and what they teach is what they teach they don’t accept feedback on what how to teach an what to teach well. Even if you attend classes for days and you’ve grown used to the dojo and all the relationships all of that disappears as soon as you do something the instructor doesn’t like that is β€œagainst his dojo” such as training in multiple dojo academy’s.The prices are wayyyyyyy to much for what they dish out in return. repetition isn’t always great when you’re paying hundreds of dollars a month but unfortunately that’s what ends up happening and granted the beginning of classes start with a pre-workout of push-ups sit-ups and various other exercises, the BJJ they teach is common and you’ll find that you’ve been taught the same thing over and over again and eventually it gets tiring. The karate classes are great I have no complains about their karate class to be quite frank they should only teach karate instead of BJJ they would get a lot more foot-traffick this way. If you’re an experienced BJJ practitioner don’t attend classes at this dojo. There are many other dojos in Harlem and with a better price as well. Overall they have a poor customer service department and are to money focused and money hungry for what they dish out in return.

I’d just like to say, for anyone who is searching for a way of self-defense, competitive sport, or just a great workout; You’ve found your place! When my daughter was 5 years old, she began Karate classes here and learned so much in such a short span of time. After we took a break from Karate, we came back when she turned 12 years old for her to take up Brazilian Ju-Jitsu. She was having some bullying issues at school, and needed a controled way to protect herself. Sensei Mullerro took her under his wing, just as he does with all, and helped her develop into a disciplined, confident, smart, and strong young lady. When she began feeling more comfortable with the sport, she competed for the first time.Sensei and his assistant Alex, were there every step of the way with her; Whether it be coaching, supporting, or comforting her after many tears of joy, we would never forget that they were there.Next Evolution Martial Arts is like a family. With ups, downs, middles, and all the rest... They will always be together; Laughing, learning, progressing, and having a great time.
